I don't really get people who insist that Destiny's gameplay can't be beat. The shit where your gun is arbitrarily way more able to hit weak points (read: do actual damage) if you sight in always felt like it was unnecessarily clumsy and slow, and the PVE gameplay even in raids is brainless and boring for the most part with the actual difficulty coming from team coordination with the raid mechanic.

Yes. They removed raids and some other shit.
I mean if you want your "gottem" no, I never grinded to it because it requires grind to actually reach grandmaster and it didn't seem worth the time.
I've played overleveled content before, though, and from playing it and what I've seen of grandmaster, it looks about the same. You get a build that works with your restrictions, and you click on heads while staying in a corner and avoiding damage. Good difficulty isn't as simple as cranking up numbers, you need good enemies and AI that pushes you towards fun strategies and Destiny doesn't really do that because it's a casual shooter.

They took all the raid stuff and distributed it throughout the game, something they did one time for one free content thing (while they continue to generate new free content even now) is even comparable to what Destiny does again and again while charging for it.
Warframes problem is there's no challenge and power creep is out of control
The gameplay of Destiny2 only goes so far when the AI is beyond moronic (worse than Destiny1) and the variation in difficulty is "piss easy" or "get obliterated while trying to shave pixels off the god-sponge".
The AI is so bad in Destiny2 unironically because of engine limitations. They cut out any semblance of intelligence in the AI so they could have more AI on the screen. So you get alot of literal morons walking at you shooting their guns. Wherein before you were in an actual gunfight with enemies that would:
>every faction except Vex would take cover, even Cabal would hide because cabal shields (removed)
>hide to regen their shields (removed)
>melee enemies would actually wait or try ambushing you (removed so now all melee enemies are Titan mains)
>larger enemies would rush you if your health was low (now it's random, tactics2hard)
>enemies with explosive attacks would pepper your last known position to try and suppress or splash you (now they just try to endlessly shoot you through cover)
>a vague semblance of stealth during combat where enemies could be fooled into thinking your still at X location when you actually moved to Y location undetected (very frequent with the latter behavior)
And I'm pretty sure this happened during/after Forsaken. Because I remember the AI being better in Vanilla D2. Because I specifically remember Cabal in D2 Vanilla purposely running over to hide behind the new Phalanx' shields to shoot from safety.

in d2 ads is mandatory on most weapon archetypes unless you stack weapon perks.

the problem with hipfire wasnt hitting it was the damage falloff.

I have two buddies who are full on Destiny 2 addicts (2000+ hours), and they got me into it. The gunplay and how the combat feels is legits the best out there, but the game is so segmented and instanced because of the paywalls, it never feels like a coherent experience. Joseph Staten created a great fricking setting and it is honestly wasted on this game. Lightfall was so shit I uninstalled and will never come back to it. Just awful
