A couple people keep trying to push that meme, but thankfully TWEWY is a niche enough game ;_; for the few people who care about it to not be too moronic to actually check the original Japanese and know they didn't actually change much rather than relying on some moron's MTL images.

She doesn't say "later losers" in Japanese. I think that was the only flavor text in the translation for Shoka compared to the original script. In English voiced lines she clearly says it tongue-in-cheek rather than it sounding like "frick off losers" like a bully. I wager if you aren't from an English speaking country you'll lose the nuance and think she literally means it when she says losers.

        Anonymous

The sort of flippant, casual way she says bye in the Japanese script matches up with the tone of "later losers" pretty well, but
        >I wager if you aren't from an English speaking country you'll lose the nuance and think she literally means it when she says losers.
This is probably the main reason we had people shitposting about it here for so fricking long.

Nomura doesn't have a problem with Sameface, though. You can see even in that images things like the eyes and general proportions of the head are pretty different, even if they all share the similar foundation of "dark hair with cherry lips".

Ventus has a slightly different eyeshape from Sora and Roxas.
Sora and Roxas literally, canonically have the same face for story reasons. That's not "sameface".
Neither Namine nor Xion have faces resembling anyone else besides eachother (and Kairi), and again, that's a story thing.

Do you not know what sameface actually is? Sameface is when an artist is too shit to draw more than one face. Nomura is clearly capable of drawing multiple faces. You also didn't explain which characters in the image I posted have the same face.

Eh. Didn't she spend like 4+ years in the UG before coming back to life? She actually died and became a reaper through regular means, meaning she lost whatever she waged to play the game, assuming her original game was following the real rules. And what happened to her after coming back to life? Her parents weren't surprised about her just reappearing after 4+ years dead? I get they frick with people's memories but she still didn't age for whatever time she was a reaper, meaning she got left behind age-wise by all her acquaintances. Seems like a lot of mind-frickery to do just to bring her back. And wasn't she from Shinjuku? Isn't her family still erased? Did Joshua just retcon her into some random Shibuja family?

I think you’re forgetting that Shoka’s Game went by Shinjuku rules, not Shibuya’s. They don’t do Entry Fees since the challenge is in the team set-up and learning to develop your social skills as opposed to one-on-one partnerships. It’s heavily implied that Shoka didn’t have the best home life, to the point that she actively wanted to stay in the UG as opposed to going back and embraced being a Reaper. Hell, she didn’t even mind being Erased so I wouldn’t be surprised if she actually committed suicide, which would fit in with a lot of her behavior.

I knew you had some autistic collage ready, but you still didn't answer my question.
I'm pretty sure one of the secret files says the "shinjuku rules" NEO plays by aren't legal since it doesn't pit players vs reapers, but whatever, that'd only answer what happened to her wager. She didn't have one.
But what about the time gap? Her still fricked family trapped in the erased Shinjuku? Are whatever issues she had just solved because she met some boy to play pokemonGo with?
And for what it's worth, I doubt the writers meant for her to have killed herself since they already used up that plot point for Fret's not-shown friend. I'd expect her to show some reaction to that revelation if she had. Maybe consider how her own alleged suicide would've affected others.

              >I'm pretty sure one of the secret files says the "shinjuku rules" NEO plays by aren't legal since it doesn't pit players vs reapers, but whatever, that'd only answer what happened to her wager.
She never had one because the Shinjuku Games don’t work like that. Shibuya is a hub of youth culture and is where new trends are born. Of course the UG of it would value individuality and creativity -> influencing others through art and passion.
Shinjuku is both a business district but also has a very expansive night culture. It’s considered "adult" in comparison so of course the UG would value having to work with many many different kinds of people -> being able to navigate and work with people to your advantage. Both Games place emphasis on the value of teamwork though with Shibuya prioritizing individuality and that leading towards influencing others with your art and passion to help in inspiring them to become better people while Shinjuku promotes sociality and thus being able to work with a wide variety of people to better develop your own social skills and work towards a collective goal. However, much like Shibuya’s Game, this was liable to corruption and a toxic work environment, thus leading the city to be grounds for erasure at the hands of Haz, who just decided to cut the middleman out and have Kubo lead the others via Shiba to rebel against the current Conductor (Tsugumi’s bro) and wipe the whole thing off the map.
              >But what about the time gap? Her still fricked family trapped in the erased Shinjuku?
Considering how she latched onto the Shinjuku gang, I think it’s safe to say that she doesn’t give a shit about her old family, especially with her comments of a "fancy-ass house" and "picture perfect family".

Only for Shibuya’s case. When the Shinjuku gang came over, they just transplanted their rules to replace Shibuya’s format, and it’s noted that Shiba became the Conductor through entirely legal means so it’s still valid.

              >Are whatever issues she had just solved because she met some boy to play pokemonGo with?
Pretty much, yeah, plus using Gatto Nero as a springboard to form her own identity amidst all of the chaos. She was basically a wagie who had to see her second family get broken up and the same game get played out over and over again with only her FanGo interactions with Rindo giving her a reprieve from the cycle and him getting sucked into the Game eventually pushed her to take more drastic measures to stand up to Shiba’s rule and fight to save Shibuya.

I like how at one point Fret is even shocked that Shoka isn’t as torn up about Shinjuku’s erasure as she probably should be (though considering the implications of Shoka’s home life and her latching onto what ever gives her security such as the Shinjuku Reapers, her found family, it’s pretty understandable from her end) since she probably didn’t have the best memories there.

Minors can actually live by themselves in Japan. It’s incredibly rare when it happens but it still happens nonetheless. Anonymous

I loved how they handled Sho as a party member and even twisted around expectations a bit by making him the one who gives genuinely helpful advice towards Rindo while Neku, the enlightened protag, gives him the wrong kind of advice. While is it true that Sho is mainly using Rindo and the Twisters in order to further his own goals/agenda, every single piece of advice/information he gives them ends up being helpful in some way and stays relevant up to the end. On top of that, there’s a distinctive pattern where everytime Rindo/the team shows signs of trying to overly rely on Sho, he immediately threatens to leave and pushes them to achieve more for themselves via sink-or-swim. By contrast, when Neku shows up to join the party on W3D4, he starts to unintentionally take Rindo’s place as the leader, with the Reports themselves noting how Rindo is starting to stagnate with his growth once again when he has someone to overly rely on, with his advice boiling down to telling Rindo that no matter what happens, he needs to just let the chips fall where they may, make the most of a bad situation. And while that works great for someone like Neku, since it’s basically a logical extension of what Mr. H taught to him, his application of it is exactly the sort of excuse to defer to authority that Rindo has been blindly grasping for over and over the entire game, which he then proceeds to actively reject in his talk with Haz by the end.

Nobody's body was changed and Shiba outright states they could've thrown away their pins and left at any time.

Original is built aroudn touch controls in one hand and buttons in the other.
Phone isn't so bad but your partner skills aren't as good.
Switch is really if you can get around using the joycon pointers instead of touch which isn't impossible but still a pain.

Neku’s a very well-developed character with depth to him, especially in how his trauma prevents him from opening up to others and being afraid of getting hurt again, he’s one of the most straightforward characters in the series and that’s not a bad thing. In a series where a lot of the characters like to hide parts about themselves and how those affect the relationships around them, Neku in the first game is blunt to a tee, almost to a fault, which makes him the perfect receptacle for the themes/lessons the game imparts on him. He hates lying and it shows because when the characters have doubts about themselves, he’s the perfect guy for the job of setting them straight instead of trying to dart around the issue, getting them to look at themselves and try to press forward anyway. We’re also privy to almost every single one of his emotions/feelings, making him an open book for us, the audience.
Meanwhile, in NEO, we do play as Rindo and get the majority of the story through his perspective, we don’t get to see him grasp with his emotional turmoil as much as Neku’s…because he DOESN’T want to recognize his issues, instead trying to rely on everyone else to solve his problems for him and a lot of it shows through his actions/outspoken dialogue instead. Nagi’s Dive and Haz’s conversation with him are some of the only times someone directly calls him out on his flaws within the main story but when you pay attention to how he acts, his flaws pop up quite a bit. We have a dude who’s constantly internally struggling with himself while putting on a cold/blunt persona because he doesn’t want to get hurt and recognizing that maybe he’s wrong on a point versus a dude who constantly b***hes and moans internally while passively going along with everything in spite of himself, constantly self-contradicting/being hypocritical and I think that’s really interesting.

I love how Rindo isn’t necessarily a *bad* person like Neku started off as, but in contrast to Neku’s blunt, brutally honest, and confrontational personality, he's incredibly dysfunctional, contradictory, and insecure about himself so you get essentially the opposite character arc without the game doubling back on what the original was saying. And yet, at the same time, he isn’t one-dimensional either. Yeah, he’s indecisive, but he's also quick to argue and get angry and when pushed, he can be snarky, deadpan, and not take people's crap, especially as he develops.

I was pleasantly surprised when he actually snapped back at Shoka when she started to get on his nerves. Made him feel more human.

    >sequel never
    >DLC never
    >fan made content/mods never because the game is a b***h to mod
I hate that NEO flopped while genuine slop thrives, frick. My biggest issue with NEO is that I wanted more content.

      >My biggest issue with NEO is that I wanted more content.
Mine is that it was clearly unfinished. It desperately needed its own Tin Pin equivalent (Or hell, even just Tin Pin again would have been perfectly fine) because as good as the game is, it's very repetitive with next to no variation whatsoever. The time travel stuff just makes it feel like it drags on too much. Looking at the bonus day, it's clear there was some sort of mini game planned. There's just no way their plan for that day was just
      >Hey, refight all the bosses again....On the same day where the boss rush is
And then it ends on a cliffhanger. Maybe in 2039 we'll get TWEWY 3 and it will blow our minds.

The devs said that Another Day almost didn't make it in at all, tweaked/powered up bosses are the best they could do to get it out the door. I just want more high quality bosses like Leo Cantus Armo and more enemy types.

A lot of the time travel was padding that stretched the amount of content in the game thin in order to reach some arbitrary length that they wanted to hit, for sure. Game would have been better if that shit was cut and the main game was 30h long instead of 45h or whatever.

Nah, I think the time travel works well for the themes of the game and reinforcing Rindo’s character arc. And it’s not as if they just repeated content in it just because since a lot of the time travel segments have little bits of character building/foreshadowing that adds more dimension to the cast, like this scene with Kanon where she’s shown being more nervous about losing the DRS as a safety net as opposed to the Twisters, who she sees as unpredictable and wild, in the second timeline. It’s so subtle that you wouldn't even notice if Rindo didn't nonchalantly point it out but also because of it its a 100% intentionally written reaction as well as an indicator of NEO’s more subtle writing.

They could have included time travel without making it so long each time. It was simply too much unnecessary padding for the story. The pacing certainly could have been better.

Thing is, the game actually accounts for how the time travel segments are compensated into the length of each chapter, and that most time travel excursions are actually quite short. I implore you during your second playthrough to count how many times the time travel was too long or asked you to do overly repetitive things; you'll see that the length of missions with time travel is not significantly different from ones without. I think the main issue without a doubt is the repetitive nature of some of missions found in this series as a whole, though I would actually argue NEO does more things to mix things up so that the missions feel unique from each other.

Story-wise, I like the time travel too. I just wish they cut back on some (not all) of the gameplay segments involving it because I think that some of them were redundant and hurt the game's pacing.

it could be worse. imagine your long awaited sequel not being handled by the original staff and being total dogshit instead.

Okay gays. What are your headcanons for the female cast's boob sizes, nipples, choice of underwear, and pubes/hairiness, and whatever else you got? I got some art commissions and the guy commissioning said I could pick so I need some inspiration. The commission asked for Coco, Uzuki, Rhyme, Konishi, Hype-chan, the girl in the OP, and Nagi. I'm in the middle of playing the sequel so no spoilers please.

Nagi hasn't shaved since she was 12 and has worn the same black underwear for 5 years, no bra.

Hype-chan is definitely packing some milkers. Just look at how her shirt is tucked in.

Are we getting TWEWY2 at some point or NEO is all we got for the sequel?

The game did flop so I guess the series is over

      NEO IS TWEWY 2.
