>the game tells you that firearms are pretty much useless against vampires and that it's better to use swords >the opposite is actually true, firearms dominate the late game where you're mostly fighting supernatural beings, while the early game is dominated by melee weapons
don't give up zoomer
keep advancing your skills and you'll how hilariously op guns are. or you can just be a real vampire and blow everyone up with vampire magic
Guns become absurdly OP towards the end of the game. You're literally just complaining that an RPG is being an RPG To be fair though I still think Deus Ex 1 handled this the best where your aiming is utter shite at low levels but you still do about the same amount of damage as you do at higher levels (there's a bit of a damage boost as you get higher up but it's not much) it's just that you have to stand still for about 15 seconds before your bullets shoot straight. Wasn't perfect but with a bit more polishing I think more FPS/RPGs should've done the same
I bodied that mf using celerity. Him and his minions didn't even touch me that entire fight.
Good job you got me to respond. A+ work. I had a whole argument shoot through my mind reading your comment but that's all you really want. So good job, keep it up.
I want to shoot this cat but it'll probably only do like 12 damage and he'll pull out a uzi spraying me down in one mag.

Explain to me how me with vampiric strength and maxed out firearms will cause an uzi spray is like a cerebral palsy patient sneezing while random thugs have accuracy of a marine corps sniper with their automatic guns?
You're... you're still using the Uzi? With maxed out firearms? By the time you get enough points to get max firearms you should be able to get the SPAS-15 or the Steyr Aug. >while random thugs have accuracy of a marine corps
So use your vampire powers? Do you have Celerity cause that's pretty much just bullet time. Obfuscate? There's a frick-ton of options depending on your clan.
Yeah i thought it would kick less the better your skill
I bet the devs never shot a gun in their lives because holy shit its bad.
The Trodors have Celereity, Presense and auspex. The last two are kinda shit
Nah leveled up Auspex is great especially when you're being stealthy. Do you have the SPAS-15 or Steyr Aug yet? Cause with enough ammo and max firearms you've just broken the combat. How far through are you - where you up to? First time playing through it?
Yeah first time. Saving up money to buy the french spas15. Just got to Chinatown and saved the dudes annoying daughter

Just for the record you can get the Steyr Aug for free during the Society of Leopold quest so maybe hold off buying it. You enjoying it so far? I know the combat's kinda shit (again, unfinished - I swear the potential's there and I've come to enjoy it) but the good shit is so fricking good.

It's decent. Idk I'll have to finish it to give tou a definite answer.

Annoyingly the back half of the game was really, really rushed, way more combat heavy, linear and just kinda unfinished. And that's already started happening by the time you get to Chinatown. That said, it's fricking amazing to replay it as another clan cause it's a proper RPG and it can change a lot depending on your build. I don't think you can have a 'definitive answer' until you've played it at least twice.

I like the combat even if I'm complaining about it. The sewers were pretty fun

Nice. Everyone usually hates the sewers (I didn't mind them too much, just thought they went on for a bit too long) so you might actually enjoy the back quarter of the game. It's mostly linear, combat heavy dungeons from hereon out. And again, pick a different clan next time and it can be a really different experience.

Free AUG may or may not be a good thing though. If you're playing unmodded then it's shit and not even worth picking up.
>I bet the devs never shot a gun in their lives because holy shit its bad.
Oh and not really. The game's borderline unfinished and was made by CRPG devs. Basically they tried to translate both their crpg design (the Fallout/Arcanum style) plus adapt VtM into a real-time, first person 3D game and quickly found out that dice rolls + real time, first person combat wasn't fun at all so they switched to real time fairly late in the project. But since the game ended up being rushed and half-baked/unfinished it's just a bit fricking rough. That said it's a proper RPG too so it's fricking easy to break after a certain point if you know what you're doing.
Coincidentally, I just finished it yesterday for the first time. Really liked it despite the last third being pretty weak. I'll do a Malkavian run in a couple of months.
>Coincidentally, I just finished it yesterday for the first time.
Me too. I've played some good games this tear, but with this one, I'm already thinking about what I'd do on a second playthrough.
I opened it on my first playthrough.
Same but I saved right before I did. I reloaded and gave myself a better ending. >: )

Fighting the SWAT guys at the end of the game was a huge frick you to people who went pure melee builds like I did on my first run with Gangrel. Fortunately the game dynamic shift is easy enough to overcome if u have enough resources but if u don’t approach that final mission with adequate weapon/ammo you’re very well fricked
>"Let me tell you where you're wrong OP, you see... wait... what was that? Is someone at my door? AH! GET OUT! NOOOO AAAHHH!!! WAIT DON'T SUCK MY wiener! DON'T SUCK MY wiener! WAIT NOOOOOO!!!! The passcode to my dolphin porn collection is 0451"
yes, dice roll based RPG's do not translate well to video game medium. We already know that.
>t. 2 into ranged combat
gtfo of here shitter
>be superhuman with unnatural strength and superpowers that can make humans kill themselves at command
>still use shitty firearms
Yes
>A guy from a block away shoots you dealing crit damage and kills you instantly
nothing personell kid
Bro your Fortitude?
Why would shooting a vampire with a gun kill them? If this is a setting matter then it sucks too.
cuz vampires still need their brains and having their brains liquefied by a shotgun blast is an injury incompatible with their un-life
>>be superhuman with unnatural strength and superpowers that can make humans kill themselves at command
use shitty firearms
Problem?
>the game tells you that firearms are pretty much useless against vampires and that it's better to use swords

>turns on Presence
Why, I think tonight I will walk up to you and slash you to ribbons with my katana. Nothing personnel.
you’re a dipshit and a moron go have a nice day
don't give up zoomer

I picked Toreador on purpose to larp as Neo and blasting Black folk in slow motion.
Didn't realize how shit the shooting was till this playthrough

Thanks. I didn't work hard on it at all.
All RPGs are absolute goyslop.

Money stolen

The sequel will fix it
They should fix it by adding in sex scenes and not fading to black
Don't be cruel anon
put points in your ranged combat stats moron
I opened it on my first playthrough.

that can happen for real people i think
I love this game, but holy frick the combat is terrible. Also, who the frick thought that sewer segment was a good idea?
Blame Activision for not letting devs finish sewers level.
