It would make it much more consistent in competitive Pokemon.
It would also give genderless Pokemon an additional niche of taking down common attract users.

>Should attract work on the same-sex?
Yes but make a succubus/incubus pokemon specifically for that
this but its not attract that works but the ability allows it
>It would make it much more consistent in competitive Pokemon.
That's not a good thing, infatuation has always been balanced around not working on every Pokemon, 50% chance to not move (that's also permanent in a 1v1) is broken
>that's also permanent in a 1v1
How about the game devs create a basic b***h AI, then?
>in a 1v1
So not any formats people care about
Format doesn't matter, I'm referring to how infatuation doesn't expire until either Pokemon switch out or faints
Better idea:
>Opposite sex: infatuates, as normal.
>Same sex: Confuses the target, instead.
>Genderless: No effect.
>Same sex attract has the same effect as swagger or roar.
Fixed it for you
or poison
no, kys homosexual
no because being gay is degenerate and unnatural
>taking down common attract users.
What would a pokemon need to become a "common attract user" considering almost every mon can learn the move?
Cute ESL
>ESL
homie what
?
https://www.smogon.com/dex/sv/moves/attract/
actual answers homosexual, not an article written by morons
Except it wouldn’t make any sense you fricking moron
Why would the pokemon be "attracted" to another one that isn’t of the opposite sex
Do you also believe bug should be super effective on fire because "it needs a buff"?
OP’s suggestion makes no sense and would be OP anyway, but technically attract already doesn’t make sense since logically it should only really affect Pokémon in the same egg group.
I thought about that too actually yeah, that one’s pretty weird, but I guess it would make attract so situational it would basically be useless if it had this restriction
>would be OP anyway
Wait until you find out about confusion.
Confusion is bullshit too but it wears off, attract doesn’t
homie if you get confused in competitive, you either switch or try your luck attacking once and switch
snapping out of confusion is the least reliable way to get rid of it
>logically it should only really affect Pokémon in the same egg group.
Human beings aren't in any of these egg groups but based on the posts on this board...
Infatuation has always been weird. Why does cute charm inflict infatuation when it's mostly on small and cute pokemon and not "sexy" ones?
>Why would the pokemon be "attracted" to another one that isn’t of the opposite sex
Anon... we are a month away from 2024.
It's finally about time to recognize that gay people exist, and that you're not alone.
Stay safe.
>a bunch of twitter using americans are mentally ill therefore the fundamentals of biology shouldn’t work for pokemon like they do for normal humans
>the fundamentals of biology
which part of the fundamentals of biology causes a literal baby pokemon that literally can not breed to inflict infatuation via cute charm
The same part that makes some mammals nurture their young.
No, infatuation isn't just for romantic love.
>fundamentals of biology
same-sex attraction occurs in animals as well
>It would make it much more consistent in competitive Pokemon.
smoggies would ban that shit in a heartbeat
No, that would be gay.
No because it would make the game gayer so they'll do it in gen 10
They should make attract work on same sex pokemon for male quaquaval but that's it
What is the most sissy nature in the game?
You know how, many heterosexuals are attracted to traps?
A pokemon with a trap-personality could have a chance (like 60%) to work attract against males.
None by definition
Introduce a gender unknown Pokémon whose ability bypasses the gender restrictions of infatuation. Make certain groups ree hard by also making Skill Swap, Trace, Role Play, Entrainment, and Doodle fail when used on it.
It wouldn't even need to be the normal type of attract. It could be an objectmon that is literally attractive regardless of gender like a box of poffins, rare candies, berries, etc. that still uses the attract effect
or actually frick it make it an item that makes it clear that the attract effect comes from the item. Again like "Irresistable Diamond" and the effect is that it allows attract to work for all pokemon
No
It would only work on fairies
Infatuation should be removed entirely
No that's gay
