True. But if he's removing the "90s" thing from the title, there are a lot better games to fit into an all-time unholy pentagon of NTR than these three.

Again, who cares? Characters experience hardships and suffer, that just means something interesting is happening in the story.
Not everyone is obsessed with self-inserting into every character, and then shits themselves when a particular type of suffering happens to them.

This shit is not NTR though. It's more like a tragedy where a guy got fricked so hard by fate that he becomes evil and the main villain. People comparing LAL to Bahamut Lagoon or NTRhero are fricking insane, how do people get psyopped this badly?

        >fricked so hard by fate
Fate had nothing to do with it.

His best friend betrayed him and controlled things and everyone just went along with it in an outright laughable NTRPG method. Nobody questions anything, nobody looks into anything, everyone instantly falls for everything the best friend says and does, even though his plan is just offhand juvenile shit. It's got exactly the same energy as "I took a photo of you kissing your boyfriend so frick me or I'll spread it online!"

This is going to be annoying with the spoiler tags, but just saying this is missing the context necessary.
          gets "crushed"
Oersted tries the door but it's locked shut and won't budge. They think everything is falling apart, there's no time to waste after his supposed death scream.

Nobody BUT Oersted saw the Demon King in the castle. The first person to come in just sees a dead king and Oersted over him with a bloody sword. A knight, in a state of disbelief, makes the (ill-informed) connection between this death and the deaths of his allies, and everybody and seeing him like this believes him.

A mixture between dumb b***h who didn't know any better and genuinely scared girl who was trapped on a mountain and the only person who she'd seen was Straybow. Not an excuse for what she did, but it is an explanation.

The guards literally come into the room to see you standing over the still warm body of the king with your sword covered in his blood.

Yes, the thing here is that theres no context.

All the newbies know is that theres these 8 stories and at some point the heroes from those stories will meet and fight together against a demon lord dude that can shoot demonic woman specters at you.

For them, that can mean anything really, and as long as they dont know beforehand why this crap is happening, then theres absolutely no issue here.

His only crime was to spread his evil to the other stories through his incarnations. But you know... Hatred is not well know for let people see things properly...

          >Oh I want to play that one too.
          Soft anti-recommendation.

I didn't hate it, but it's a definite 7/10. It's actually the game that finalised my conclusion about SRPGs, that faction based is better than speed based. It's the difference between the game feeling reactive and the game being almost entirely your enemies turn (because they've got 2-3x more units than you) and your units feeling like deadweight punching bags aside from a few specific ones with a minor counter ability baked into their class.

I used to love those kind'a games, FFTA was a longtime favourite as a kid, and I'd always thought the Speed system meant more depth and more ways to balance the game, given how you can give it specific interactions with skills and abilities. But after playing through more Fire Emblem games and especially after playing Banner of Maid, I really had to push myself through playing Triangle Strategy with just how long and boring it is to wait through enemy turns watching an endless parade of units beating on your units until it's finally your turn again.

Adding onto that's just a host of baffling gameplay decisions. You've probably heard that they've abstracted levels out so there's "no need to grind!" but the reality is that now levels are entirely pointless and do nothing EXCEPT hold you back- so rather than there being no need to grind, you need to grind *every* map. Every time you've got a new map, you've got two options

          >Go play the next one, lose but get stronger while losing and win the second time
          >Go play the skirmish maps and grind out a level or so across your main team

It's utterly obnoxious, you spend the entire game at or beneath the power curve, it's impossible to get ahead of it, so it's impossible to ever deal with the enemies being massive HP sponges without just chipping away at them turn after turn.

ah so you mean shit where all of your units move, then all of enemy's units, and then third group if it exists on the map, before cycling back to you.

You're being obtuse if you really think he ended the world just because of Alicia. She was easily the final straw that broke the camel's back, but quite literally everything from the moment Hash passed away and Straybow getting crushed was about breaking him down and ruining his life. She was just the cherry on top of it all.

                Anonymous

I get where you are going and yeah, NTR is not a good 'genre'. But what you said about Alicia not being the prime catalyst and just 'the cherry on top' is kinda debatable.

As it stands, Oersted was already a broken man, specially after Straybow/Streibough's reveal. He just wanted for something, ANYTHING to be recognizing of his efforts. And then, here comes alicia, spewing all that vitriol and capping it off with her suicide. The last grasp of hope, gone...

If she wasnt a moron like she was, Oersted could have been saved. This is why i believe she was more than just the cherry on top. Prolly im wrong, but thats what i think.
