Should I get into turnip28? Seems like a fun way to get into sculpting, kitbashing and non-GW miniatures.

Sure, why not. I think it's really cool.
>Should I
of course not, why should you get into something you find fun at all?
Not sure if out of date troll bait
Yeah, it's a good modelling aesthetic, allows/encourages sloppy approaches that give you an easy win for a finished project.
It unironically did that for me at the start of lockdown after a slump period.
Does anyone actually play this?
No, the game is pretty generic and boring. The artstyle and kitbashing is what turnip28 is about, the creator just wanted an excuse to start up a patreon to get money off the success of the style
its fun, an I find the discord is great to hang out in, last time Max showed up here everyone was predictably an arse so not much mention since then.
He gives away pretty much everything (patreon people just get it earlier) the patreon mostly pays artists/writers even
I think the game is quite fun.
Yup, we have a pretty good player base of a dozen people local, and growing everyday. Honestly, once you get into the rules they're actually pretty fast and fun with a lot of flavor and character.
I'm currently in the middle of plotting out my next force, which will be pumpkin themed, and a kitbash of the new blood bowl halflings, Perry historicals, various Warhammer bits, and of course copious amounts of green stuff.
I love those little fricks. Keep us updated.
Based.
I'm thinking about first trying to build some generic ones, following the "official" aesthetic very closely and then perhaps a Papal States + carrot inspired one, so I can have two armies to play with friends.
Those are going to look awesome. GW halflings already are grungy weirdos.
I feel like I've seen this post many times before...
I wonder why that could be..................................
Idk. It's the first time I talk about turnip28 on this board.
t. OP
No.
There's nothing to "get into" since it's just painting historical minis brown and then covering them with flock and static grass.
There's a weird online larp where people pretend there's a game or a setting or some kind of context other than "brown historicals with static grass on top" but why would you waste your life on that garbage?
How so? The game exists and the rules are free.

Games?
Here are people playing a game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7SkcVC82Tc
There is a roulebook. https://www.patreon.com/posts/61359085
There is a setting.
Turnip28 will never catch on with the mainstream
and...
that is why it's best game.
