>hihihi it's just a bug you can't see the majority of content one of your companions have!
This is just pure bullshit from them right...? There's no way you mess something this big up like this.
My portraits are fricked up like that as well. Shadowheart looks like she has purple hair in hers. I have no idea why it's like that and have changed every setting I can think of to try and fix it and nothing works.
It really annoys me.
i think it takes portraits according to your graphics settings, and the purple hair thing is a result of lightning being on the wrong angle because of lightning distance rendering or something like that. you could try putting graphics to ultra on next level up, pick multiclass so it takes new poetrait and see if it fixes it
I thought portraits would just update in real time. If they only update when you get a new class then that would explain why nothing I have changed has fixed it.
I'll give that a go, thank you for the idea.
i noticed it updating when i broke oath so i figured out it updates only when your character model gets like reloaded in the CC. which happens on multiclass as well because of the flavor animation/default armor swap.

It is something about graphics cards and displays. I had a GeForce1060 and plugged it into standard 1080 and got those weird results, saw the video card to a 3060 and it went away. However I then put the 1060 back in and plugged it into a 4k monitor and the issue went away, so I think it's something about the video card and display talking to each other and getting weird results.
There is no reason to side with her/them unless you're being loledgy. Should have given the player at least some argument for choosing that route, like perhaps the druids did something to the goblins or commander years ago and they want revenge.
It does make some sense. At that point its really not clear to the player character what's going on with the tadpoles and shit but Minthara and some others have them while Halsin gives you a big "I dunno" and his apprentice Nettie literally plans to kill you and will attack you if you refuse to swear to drink poison at first sign of symptoms. So she and her goons are as legitimate a lead as any
The Nettie thing is understandable, she doesn't want her grove decimated by a mind boy. Also at that point Halsin isn't just the only lead you have about the worm, there's like 3.
Even if that was the case, are you really going to slaughter innocents to potentially get a lead from some deranged hot dommy mommy?
>Even if that was the case, are you really going to slaughter innocents to potentially get a lead from some deranged hot dommy mommy?
To get the tadpole out of my head? Yeah, I'd do anything. Also those druids were all c**ts except Halsin and the tieflings proved to be true to the thiefling stereotype because all the kids tried to steal from me and scam me, so I don't feel that bad about killing them for some info and evil elf pussy
Save myself over people who
1. would have locked me out if not attacked
2. treated me largely like shit the entire time - apathetic at best
3. tried to rob me
4. tried to get me to massacre each opposing spectrum in the grove
All while the goblins are all under one unified goal.
>Even if that was the case, are you really going to slaughter innocents to potentially get a lead from some deranged hot dommy mommy?
Druids were buttholes
Refugees were buttholes
I sided with the Goblins because they made me laugh
>Decide to play Evil character >Logically you're not going to side with the refugees and druids in the Grove because that is Good aligned >You instead meet someone who is also evil and who also gives you more inside information regarding the Evil faction >All you have to do is kill the refugees and Druidd who you weren't helping in the first place, which is very much an Evil act
I sided with the grove and helped the teethlings defend it.
The results were absolutely pointless! It only benefitted the Druids who were busy being too shitty to everyone to defend themselves.
The demon people just fricking leave to Baldurs gate regardless. Something they could have done without defending their """home""" first. Best part is destroying the Goblins assault attempt on the grove doesn't even clear the path for them
Isn't there a persuasion check with Zadnor about convincing the teiflings to leave? I know the druid leader asks you to get rid of them, by force if necessary.
idk if you can just convince them though.
If you wipe out all the goblins inside and out the camp, leaving only Minthara (and maybe her goblin commander she's talking to) alive, will the raid still be an army or will there only be spiders?
it makes reason only if you play a lloth sworn drow, those would by default join minthara to frick over other races, however some of them would also kill minthara, becouse lloth is insane.
since minthara has red eyes she should be lloth sworn too, but she is member of the absolute cult, so not sure if it counts.
I whipped rocks at Halsin in bear form to entertain Asterion and he broke out and I killed him. At that point I know the grove and tieflings can't help me, so why not go undercover?
It was pretty funny that the first thing he did when he broke out of his cell was to maul a child. He should have been a pitbull morph instead of a bear
It was pretty funny that the first thing he did when he broke out of his cell was to maul a child. He should have been a pitbull morph instead of a bear
it was more moronic than funny really
Halsin is a hilarious character. I thought I would want to take Minthara but Halsin is hilarious >bear who mauls goblin children like a tard >elf built like a brick shithouse that people make fun of
No, I disagree, what they should have done is give an incentive to the player like "we know what to do with the tadpole, we will tell you if you help us".
Goblin should still be the absolutely evil side but have incentive for a pragmatic evil guy to join. As it stands it's utterly illogical and only for dark urge

Will the game break if I just decide to skip killing the goblins or tieflings and make my way into the underdark? Will minthara be recruitable afterwards in act 2? Will I see the tiefling leader again?
the argument is that you can get closer to the absolute cult by helping minthara (which is what happens, you literally get walked up to the front steps of moonrise)
its obviously an evil option but its not lacking in logic.
No, I disagree, what they should have done is give an incentive to the player like "we know what to do with the tadpole, we will tell you if you help us".

siding with goblins gets you what you want faster without helping a bunch of pathetic whiners
haslin could have left that cage anytime he wanted with wildhsape
teiflings are lazy squatters waiting for someone else to fix their shit for them for free (dont forget the child crime ring shop lifting from the temple, DEVILSPAWN DINDU NUFFIN!)
snakeb***h is a corrupt shadowdruid and about ready to holocaust the entire grove unless, once again someone else does all the work for them
There is a reason and it's straight out told to you by the narrator. The problem that this specific dialogue line appears ONLY is you free the captive goblin from the grove and deliver her to Minthara. I didn't even know about this line until I tried to free the goblin this time around.
I just wanted to make sure I got in that you're a fricking moron before the thread 404'd, now I will elaborate. Your idea to make evil side more interesting isn't to give the evil any incentive or personal reasoning but to give the objectively evil mindflayer cultist goblin faction a sob story about how they're also victims of the druids for your character about to slaughter women and children to feel bad about. You are beyond imbecilic.
I really enjoy her as a companion. She has great voice acting qnd a lot of good conversations. I was going to record of one of my favorites since almost everyone kills her and misses out but I'm too lazy to make clips into webms
Minthara seems like she'd be a lot of fun as a companion when she's finished, but right now she's clearly blatantly unfinished and has a fraction of the dialogue and reactions that every other character has. She doesn't react at all to npcs and other characters talking about her, even when they're directly insulting her.
Yeah it kinda annoys me that I've gone evil for my first play through instead of having waited until Minthara is patched but I'm nearing act 3 and I'm not restarting as a good guy now.
You can have sex with every female companion but only if you sequentially frick, break it off, then romance the next, repeat. You can offer to date multiple at once but all female companions will always refuse and demand you pick one. Male companions will allow you to date multiple at once and not care.
Because they are in service of an evil cult that wishes to control the sword coast in service of the dead three.
And even beyond that they're evil because they're fricking Goblins who attack and kill basically anyone they see.
>tieflings don't want to be there so we should murder and eat all of them including the tieflings >druids just wanna be left alone so we should murder all of them >all of this in service to our new dark god
Whats wrong with your brain that you don't see why this is considered evil
They're all evil, the refugee analogs for being pozbloods, the droods for being mass murderers, and the gobbos for being dumbass cultists doing whatever they're told and also being mass murderers
>tieflings don't want to be there so we should murder and eat all of them including the tieflings >druids just wanna be left alone so we should murder all of them >all of this in service to our new dark god
Whats wrong with your brain that you don't see why this is considered evil
The entire druid questline in act 1 doesn't make sense. What's stopping the tieflings from just making their way to Baldur's Gate without hurting the goblins? We were able to walk by with just talking, and the goblins don't have any business with the tieflings, only the druids. No reason for the tieflings to help out the druids when the goblins decided to raid them
It's pretty terrible writing, all things considered
It's larian, I can't believe people on this website actually fooled me months ago telling me the evil path was cool for pragmatic evil characters.
The writing is exactly as shitty as I expected.
I am not the kind of guy that screams shill under every thread but frick them.
(Pirated btw)
The army of goblins marauding the road between the grove and Bauldur's Gate. Being able to charisma check your way past the goblins was stupid, you either should have needed to free Sazza to get her to vouch or use your brain worm to influence the little shits.
The goblins only let you go when you convince them you're a true soul. Everyone else gets slaughtered like the adventurer group looking for the nightsong.
What's stopping the tieflings from telling the goblins where the druids are in exchange for safe passage?
Goblin aren't trustworthy in the first place, that's why you gotta go to minthara to negotiate the attack on the grove. Some random tiefling trying to get an audience is more likely to just get tortured and killed.
The goblins only let you go when you convince them you're a true soul. Everyone else gets slaughtered like the adventurer group looking for the nightsong.
>goblins literally capture Halsin, the grove's chieftain, even though he entered in truce, killed some of his party, chased the rest to the gates, attacked the gates >GUISE WHY ARE THE TIEFLINGS SO SCARED OF THE POOR HECKIN GOBBOS? THEY COULD'VE JUST WALKED BY! ALL THEY WOULD'VE ENCOUNTERED ON THE ROAD IS THE STREWN ABOUT CORPSES OF THE CARAVANS AND TRAVELLERS THAT THE ABSOLUTISTS HAD ALREADY KILLED!
How do morons of this caliber manage to write sentences? Someone this stupid should be struggling with basic motor skills like hand-eye coordination or even breathing, but he made a whole shitty doodle in paint and attached some watery excrement of an opinion to it.
I think you need to break Halsin out of his cell, then talk to Minthara but don't reveal the location of the grove, then frick off to the Underdark or something without resolving either side
I think you need to break Halsin out of his cell, then talk to Minthara but don't reveal the location of the grove, then frick off to the Underdark or something without resolving either side
You CAN do it, but it's actually a glitch because the game is only set up for either Minthara or Halsin in the camp, they occupy the same tent. So if you break the quest and skip killing her, then she just shows up later and can join your camp, but she's bugged and standing next to Halsin.
Technically yes but the content for doing that path is REALLY buggy.
I think you need to break Halsin out of his cell, then talk to Minthara but don't reveal the location of the grove, then frick off to the Underdark or something without resolving either side
I don't really care much for Halsin but does doing this allow me to meet the blacksmith tiefling for Karlach's engine in the Last Light Inn? I want to be able to progress Karlach's quest while having minthara on my party
Technically yes but it's very buggy right now so it's unclear if it's intentional. You basically have to ignore the entire grove/refugee quest and just go to Act 2 without resolving it.
I decided to leave her alive and just move on to Act 2. Then I "rescued" her from prison, although the game didn't account for the exact way I went about it and it was a little funny. But yeah, after that you can use her in your party and you get some stuff with her in Act 3.
>Don't work, i tested, even if i kill everyone in one turn minthara turn hostile after killing hobgoblin
Where is it stated in my post that she doesn't go hostile?
Just kill everyone except for Minthara, don't even go near her.
Then frick off to act 2, learn to read.

Person who you replied ask how to kill hobgob without camp going hostile. You provided false info. I corrected you. That's all.
>generic evil henchwoman with the voice of a 50 year old chain smoker
I dunno if you have to kill her necessarily but there is no reason for her to be in my party
She was a paladin of Lolth. Ok sure, they have oaths not gods now but still she talks about it. Oddly, she is still oath of vengeance when you get her in your party, but after what she's been through she really should be an oathbreaker.
>upper class britbong voice
the frick it is
I wouldn't believe the VA is english if not for the fact it says so everywhere I look
it sounds like the kind of voice you get when you ask an old american lady to sound like a snooty baroness
Sounds like thick West Country + RP to me.
Similar to the narrator now I think about it, though not as thick since the tractors and cider only comes out when you hear the outtakes
She's got some great dialogue, I made a clip of this one because it's one of my favorite monologues from any of the companions. Spoilers for Act 1 and 2
Goddamn her voice is horrendous. I wouldn't be able to listen to that all game.
Her voice acting is great and fits her well. She's not a young cute shadowheart waifu, she's an evil drow matron and a warlord, even before the cult of the absolute.
This has nothing to do with her voice not being pretty enough or anything.
I'm saying her voice sounds bad. It's like nails on a chalkboard, I hate it.
Even if it could be described as grating it suits the character and makes her more defined. The others are so generic they could be mistaken for any other mage/swordsman/cutegirl/gruffgirl/girlbossgirl in media
There is nothing feminist about the drow. They are female supremacist that are legitimaly more capable than their men. They're racist, xenophobic and so on. Drow women are more like feminists say that men are. They aren't perpetual treating themselves like victims. They don't prop up other women just because they're women.
You can defend it saying she's a weirdo outsider but that goes against your previous comment.

the culture is still ingrained in her. She was a lolth worshiper less than a year ago. Of course she still thinks men are below her.
I went in blind, had no idea what was happening and loved it so much. I had the same feeling in act 1. >What the frick is going on? I just want this fricking parasite out of my brain
You may not be familiar with D&D, but Raphael is just a random devil, he's not "The Devil". There's multiple different Hells, each ruled over by their own Archdevil Lord, and all of them full of devils of all different levels of power. This guy is just one of the many, many out there. He's actually not even special or notable.
>You may not be familiar with D&D
I sure ain't.
Imagine my confusion when Cthulhu was attacking Assassins Creed town in the opening scene only for dragons to Hyperdrive in and attack his space ship.
>while standing next to a ledge
Same shit happened in mine, I thought I was in for hell with his gimmick and then he teleported right next to a ledge so I punted him off
To be fair, could he have really planned for adventurers to detonate a barrel of runepowder next to his pillars, summon an army of ghouls to muck up the surviving Cambions, and to get gangbanged by by those level 12s while he's still reeling form the backlash?
Depends on if you're trying to keep Hope alive or not.
Book of Thay is a life saver because the Ghouls confuse the AI and eventually the paralysis will connect.
Yeah, the goblins were above and beyond based. The anti-goblin rhetoric and le evil path is just low effort unimaginative cop out that permeates the whole of BG3.
She is an evil b***h. She just isn't an illogical evil b***h. She approves of you butchering them to deceive her. She consistently approves of every evil action you take unless it's pointless psycho nonsense or subservient.
>Goblins >Just surviving >Tieflings >Stealing land and being dicks about everything >Druids >Attacking everyone and trying to cast doomsday spells just because
um................................................................
>bear breaks out of cage >goblin child starts running to the door crying for the guards >chase her down and gut her
most satisfying gameplay moment yet
The basic explanation is: Stealth +1 means that you get benefits in everything stealth related, from skills to checks, a +1 bonus in checks means you will get that benefit only on that case
>be playing dark urge evil playthrough >destroy the grove with the goblins and have a party >reject minthara because bioware romance gives me aids >she turns hostile and turns all the goblins in the act hostile
now my act 1 has no towns or vendors on the first map and I feel cheated out of any evil progression
Yeah, save yourself the disappointment when you recruit her and she completely changes her personality. I can't describe how big of a letdown she turned out to be.
She goes from being an evil villain to being a straith laced paladin, the worst part is the only people who would like that are forced to kill her by their paladin oaths so they'll never get to romance her anyway
>be Dark Urge >tactician solo >not using sorlock so game is remotely tricky at this stage >best way to create a pile of bodies is to sick both camps on each other >since the goblins are technically outmatched, siding with them means you can kite the druids through the overrun camp and watch is the goblin invader bodies pile up >once you're done watching the goblins get slaughtered, you finish off the druids >depite a near total loss of all life on both the invasion force and the defenders, the mission is considered a success >Minthara wants to frick you >Agree >Hot sex scene >Immediately after, snap her neck as you lie post coitus in one final lust for murder
>Astarion who is the only person hanging out in my camp watches on in morbid curiosity >I plan on cleaving him in half the moment he tries to bite me
>Attacking Moonrise tower with the Harpers and shit >Get through the ground floor, it's a long (but not difficult) fight, just super annoying because fricking Hunger of Hadar makes everyone drop their weapons. >There's a pile of a million corpses to loot and find my characters' weapons among to re-equip after they dropped them. >Pick up a sword. Apparently it's owned by someone. >One of the random Harpers is like "You're under arrest!" >Only option is to go to jail. >Jail. In the middle of a fricking battle in the enemy stronghold. >They send me to the fricking jail under Moonrise tower.
This is why I hate crime systems in games, always jank and shit. I also hate looting shit, digging through corpses and trash for hours of playtime in every fricking game
>This is why I hate crime systems in games
Oh IT GETS FRICKING BETTER!
>Shadowheart is in the Moonrise jail because...apparently the Harper who was attacking Moonrise with me decided to throw me in their for picking up someone else's dropped longsword. >Ok, whatever I'll just go down there and get her, I just killed the Warden and I have the key, plus I already sprung prisoners from down there before. >Go down the stairs, the entire level is FULL of undead guys waiting for me. >It's a big frickin' fight between my three party members and a bunch of undead-summoning cultists. >Decide frick it, Shadowheart is just going to Dimension Door out of the prison so she can help the fight. >Pop the teleport. >Again, remember, there's no one down here but me and a bunch of evil cultists. >"ALERT: YOU HAVE BROKEN THE LAW, GUARDS WILL NOW ATTACK YOU ON SIGHT."
This game is absolutely fricking nonsense. No one tested any part of this.

Any Japanese games get any type of translation it's censored or change to the point it kill the game. Yet this game get a free pass to do whatever it wants because it's made by the west.
I have a friend who told her he’d help and then killed her right after, he says now there’s thorns at the camp entrance did the game auto flag him as evil and he’s now fricked?
On the off chance anon sees this, I wouldn't mind continuing the discussion.
Regarding the danger: I don't feel at threat in melee with the ways I can bloat my AC, force disadvantage, and self heal.
For crowd control again I'm more than happy to use bardic inspiration to clear chaff, alternatively I can spawn in Ghouls to keep them busy. The idea is threat elimination and for that I'm more than happy to burn through spells, resting later doesn't matter. I only care about killing the boss before they're allowed to do anything and this character does that quite well. While knocking the enemy into a pit is always the answer sometimes that option isn't available, and if it is, I have a spell to send hordes flying, and for single target I can keep trying with Thunderous smite.
Closing the distance is one misty step action, which I can easily do. Since my bonus action is otherwise only dedicated to an offhand attack, it doesn't even hurt my dmg.
You said you could use your bonus actions to boost your damage with eldritch blast but form what I recall form the item that allows it, that's once per long rest, I'm throwing a full damage attack equal to my mainhand every turn. I can focus down enemies with or without smites easily.
This is less related to combat, but I can also easily pss almost any skillcheck all on my own. With minimal investment.
Now, if I wanted to play things smart rather than just charging in, I could use greater invisbility, my massive carry weight from my strength to drop smkepwder barrels everywhere, then fling a firebolt to kill all the trshmbs before focusing down the boss. If I made myself an oathbreaker, I'd have the ability to have advantage on all attacks against the boss for 3 turns. Against certain enemy types (monstrosities) I already have advantage on attacks all the time, against others, all
Paladins can gain advantage for two turns, Absolutely enough to kill or mortally wound most on Tactician.
Not as weak as you thought.
Shitpost. Is it a sign of some sort of mental deficiency when you are clocking 50 hours in BG3, playing ESO, RimWorld and Judgement and you are genuinely enjoying all of them until the suddenly the next day rolls over and you don't want to play any of them. This feeling doesn't last just a day either, I feel like It's going to last a month like it usually does. What is this fixation on enjoying vidya to suddenly turn and have no motivation to boot up a form of fricking entertainment that I was obsessed with 1 day ago?
You're probably just satiated on it for now. I'm in Act 3 now and slowing down a bit, playing some other things. Also waiting for the game to get patched more since I've heard it gets buggier the further in you are.
Paladins have the strongest burst in the entire game, you can pretty much one shot anything with smite crits. I think only Monk or some Warlock multiclass is better as they have consistent damage instead of burst.
God no.
One round of smites with Vow of Enmity and haste will frick up any enemy in the game outside an endgame boss. Factor in items/abilities that can give guaranteed crits and paralyse on crit, and you’ve got a very simple and powerful build that will cut through weak enemies and destroy single targets rapidly
Can you actually kill Thorm on the tower, or does he always leave when you get him low? Like would you literally have to dump his entire HP in one attack? Or would it still just cutscene?

nothing subjective about lawful good. it's the alignment of someone who maintains their society, which is a society where good races (humans, elves, dwarves, etc.) thrive. >b-but what about the GOBLINS? the GOBLINS think that those societies are evil!!

That's like saying that 2+2=4 is subjective, because someone had to subjectively make that evaluation. Some things are just objectively morally good, the same that 2+2=4 is objectively true, which is why so many living things live in morally good ways. The wolf who defeats another wolf and chooses not to kill it after it surrenders is being morally good, not for subjective arbitrary reasons, but because that behaviour is beneficial to both of them. That's what we call moral goodness. The evil races all behave in ways destructive not just to others but also to themselves. But since it's a magical fantasy world, they don't all go extinct because of that, because the gods think its funny to fill their world with evil creatures.

I mean I could agree if there weren't moronic exceptions to the rule like individuals of evil races not being evil
Low tier evil races like goblins or w/e just submit to higher power most of the time so killing them instead of using them for ""the greater good"" is moronic. You tardwrangle evil people with laws so why not evil races
Then there's the whole another can of worms with you could have a serial killer that just by chance killed only ""more"" evil people than him. Seeing how his actions benefited the greater good that means he's good now? Thief that steals from people is good because he randomly stole some mcguffin that evil cult required?

Bwos I'm gonna be real with you playing tactitian mode on second playthrough, it feels like the game is more tedious, or is it just the knowledge of playing each encounter a second time?
the tedious part comes from tactician throwing more enemies at you, which would be fine if it didn't turn a 10 minute fight into a 40 minute slog of waiting for turn orders because the morons at larian think swarming you with a bunch of jobbers translates well with their combat design
Does it actually throw more enemies at you? I know about the bloated health and AC. Tactician only interested me because of the smarter AI and more enemy moves, anything that makes combat longer just sucks ass
it gets bad enough that any form of explosive/knockback in arrow or ability form becomes your most precious resource purely for the sake of shaving 30 minutes off a fight bloated with shitty enemies 4 levels below your team
Does it actually throw more enemies at you? I know about the bloated health and AC. Tactician only interested me because of the smarter AI and more enemy moves, anything that makes combat longer just sucks ass
The best part is that eventually one of them will crit, and if it was an enemy Paladin, say goodbye to that character.
For me it’s the fact that the death shepherd keeps moving away to summon shit tier adds that die instantly to the AOEs rather than staying to buff the undead.
I opened the Necronomicon in a bag in my inventory and I think its supposed to be bound to me but instead its bound to the bag. I can just drop the bag or trade the bag to another character.
Is the monk stat spread worse than 5e? Figuring out how to build a monk was the worst parts of playing one on tabletop, and didn't Larian decide to change how Dex works slightly?
No. I'm playing full throttle Dark Urge and it's basically speed run with glitches. Less companions and less quests. All you get in return is invisibility cloak and +99 hp
Currently playing as DU, act 1 is finished. Should I wait for inevitable Minthara patch for evil run? Also how much content do you lose when you raid the grove?
>Also how much content do you lose when you raid the grove?
Wyll and Karlach leave immediately and you lose all the subsequent quests related to tieflings. Shadowheart gets drunk and whines about butchering the weaklings
I see that there are Wyll and Karlach dialogue with Minthara, how the frick do you keep those 3 together ?
Wyll just fricked off and Karlach attacked me after I fricked the grove
>Fighting Kethric beneath the Illithid dungeon >One party member instantly zaps over to the Moon lady to help >Then my Paladin PC pops up next to Kethric and drops 3 hasted Smites on him, dropping him in one round. >He turns into Bone Boy >It only has like 200 HP. >Two more rounds of smites and a swing from Karlach and the thing is dead.
The least those two could do is let me watch them scissor each other, preferably while I jerk off next to them. Like, that's the LEAST they could offer for the shit I did.
I like how she immediately tries to claim credit, like the Harpers weren't the ones bleeding in the assault while she was getting her ass handed to her by a geriatric old man.
She chimes in but she's more serious. I actually like her a lot because she's the only party member who backs you and your companions gaining power at all costs, everyone else usually b***hes if you want a companion to seize new powers through evil
Is there any really solid items to buy in Act 3? I'm sitting on a fricking mountain of cash, and I'm not sure if it's even worth checking traders anymore.
Check merchants. Master Carrion has a great spell casting hood that increases your spell save dcs. The kid in the Guildhall who sells stolen goods sells a cap that reduces the number required to score a crit. Probably some others I forget but look around, definitely stuff to buy
Bug I found that threw me for a moment but is ultimately not that interesting: if you go to camp while you're in a safe zone but your companions are one step behind you in a danger zone, they won't follow you to camp and just won't be around.
Threw me for a moment, thought my game was royally messed up.
Her new abilities do seem like they would be more useful for a melee class, not sure what though. I kept all my companions the same class as they started
Remember: if there was a branch of humans that would interact with silver a it more - we would have actual drows irl. If there was a branch of humans that needed just a bit more iron in their blood - we would have tieflings irl. Instead we got Black folk.
I think I have an idea about this, does someone know what happens to the druids in act 1 if you just leave? The whole "pregnant with player's baby" or not makes me think that even if we do end up getting pregnancy we will still need to genocide the druids and the tieflings if we want the baby to be ours.
I fricking hate this game so much it's unreal. I just brinked my fricking save.
Minthara's Lyre is a QUEST ITEM. The game does NOT tell you this. The game allows you to sell it to merchants that disappear from the game, which is what I did because I thought it was a normal fricking bardic instrument. But NO. It's actually an item you NEED to travel through the Shadowlands for Act 1.5 / 2. If you do not have the Lyre, then the Shadowlands are locked and you can't travel past the area's hazards.
Why? Why the frick didn't the game tell me I needed this bullshit? Their are OTHER quest items I CAN'T sell. They're marked differently from the rest of the items in my inventory and they don't show up when I go to a merchant,
Why wasn't the Lyre treated like this?
Use torch or whatever in starting area, find either caravan with spiderleg dude, or inn where jahera gives you a quest to find caravan, kill caravan, pick up lantern and free pixie from it, ask for protection in return. Now you can go into tollhouse and nearby locations with "thick" shadows as well

And I was supposed to know this blind, how? I walked around the available areas in the shadowland and I did not see any of this
You wasn't supposed to sell the fricking lute a character told you you would need later, you fricking moron
9 months ago

You FRICKING moron. There WAS NO WAY TO KNOW THIS BLIND. It's marked as vendor trash and there's no indication that you need it for THE STORY.
Minthara's Lyre? nah dude dont you worry, ijust sell it lmao
This ring a tiefling sold you as a scam? you can't sell it
This drawing of the 3 true souls in act 1? gotta keep it
The ramblings of a dwarf killed by the shadow curse with literally no information or effect on the plot or gameplay? forever in your backpack
The blueprints of a +1 weapon from act 1? you never know when you will need them might as well keep em forever in your pack
Why the FRICK wasn't it marked as quest item. Why the FRICK can I sell it when I can't sell other quest items. This is BAD GAME DESIGN. And if you defend it, you are unironically a shill
Even regular torches work. Which is stupid. >a land so cursed it gets beaten by a stick on fire
its called the "shadowlands" what does that imply? that its dark. what gets rid of dark? light.
The light cantrip and a torch don't work for half the area.

the goblin you first meet in that area literally tells you to grab a torch or some kind of light source for safety regardless of who you sided with in the grove and also tells you that it doesn't work the closer you get to moonrise without a moon lantern.

>the goblin you first meet in that area literally tells you to grab a torch or some kind of light source
I know this. It's irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Half of the map is locked behind stronger shadows, and these a torch won't mark
all quest items are marked orange.
Except the fricking Lyre. That's the POINT I'm making here
Stop skipping dialogue you colossal brainlet.
Minthara explains it when she gives it to you
Nere explains it if you save him
Jaheira explains it if you go by the underdark
Your dumb ass skipping dialogue isn’t the game’s problem

I didn't. Stop making dumb fricking assumptions. >Minthara explains
My Paladin raided the temple and killed the cultists on sight. When I got to the Drow she was hostile on sight and I smited her. >Nere explains it if you save him

I don't even get what you're flipping your shit about.
I killed Minthara, don't even remember the lute you're crying about, and I've beaten Act 2 completely.
You link up with some of the Harpers to ambush some goblins and a drider to steal the faerie lamp thing, that's how you get through the super cursed areas.
It’s fine that you didn’t think of these, but it’s not fine to pretend you did because you’re worried about looking like an idiot.
Any normal light source will work fine until the deep shadows, and you can get past those by exploring the areas you can access with normal light.
Even regular torches work. Which is stupid. >a land so cursed it gets beaten by a stick on fire

Normal light eventually gets swallowed by shadow. There’s a Druid journal which has one initially succeed with normal torches and magical light, but it gives diminishing returns over time. You’re just not in the shadow long enough for it to come into play
I just eradicated every single goblin on sight with my LG aligned adventurers, the only one I laid off was the Maglubiyet priest they had locked up in a cage. Next playthrough my durge tiefling supervillainess psychopath tav will infiltrate the cult, wipe it out, take her and keep her around on a short leash and kill her if she steps out of line.

You reach it easily because they were too worried about the casual morons not reaching max level by the end of the game. XP gain in Act 3 is like x3 of Act 2, if not higher. Someone should make a mod that nerfs this shit, if you ask me. There are dozens of quests and no incentive to finish them because you're already maxed out.

the incentive is items and leveling up earlier. If you're multiclassing then it's nice to reach lvl 12 early so you can enjoy your build's full potential earlier.

I don't think you need the Lyre. One of my coop buddies sold it because he's a fricking lunatic that steals from everyone and sells every single cup he finds and we still made it through Act 2 just fine. A torch takes care of the basic curse and then you get permanent solutions.

>the incentive is items and leveling up earlier
there are no useful items in all of act 3 outside the 23str gloves and 23con amulet and the armor in house of hope, and the throwing trident you can get from the jackpot at the circus. Maybe the +2 (up to 22) cha hat you can buy at sorcerous sundries. Basically everything else is meh, some of the "legendary" items aren't even +3.
I didn't kill everything. I slaughtered Goblins and their Drow leader because they were evil, and tormenting the nearby Druid grove. Ya know...what a PALADIN is supposed to do.
>Now live with the consequences.
My consequences are being locked out of a zone? Because the devs were too dumb to mark a quest item...as a quest item?
i hold this unique item that I got off the body of a boss?
You fricking moron. The game doesn't tell you it's important. So it's logical for one to assume that your party sells it if you don't need it. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER FRICKING BOSS IN THIS GAME.
Normal RPGS tell you when an item is important. HELL THIS FRICKING GAME TELLS you when some items are important. It's an OVERSIGHT for the Lyre to not be marked as a quest item.
I am sick and tired of you wienersuckers defending every bad game mechanic in the game.
You're probably one of those morons who defends grease in this game too. I was in these threads saying it's DC was dogshit and not scaling properly. People told me I was wrong. Suprise suprise, I was RIGHT. Grease was bugged and the game wasn't calculating the DC properly for it. Pic related.

If you kill Grym and he dies near the Admantum Forge, then you can no longer use the Admantum Forge to craft items, because his corpse will block the forge. This is bad game design.
Grease and more than half of the spells in this game are bugged, so that their DC does not scale. This is bad game design.

I was right to pirate and withold a buy then. Will buy when it's ACTUALLY finished and I can play an evil character properly

No, fix her by vigorous impregnation and marriage.
Fix her
why does your lazel have orange hair
My portraits are fricked up like that as well. Shadowheart looks like she has purple hair in hers. I have no idea why it's like that and have changed every setting I can think of to try and fix it and nothing works.
It really annoys me.
that would drive me crazy
what does it look like shadowheart with purple hair sounds interesting
it's only slightly purplish, it's just a lighting thing I think but it still looks weird to me
oh yeah that's terrible
she looks like that green jojo girl from stone ocean lol
I had the same problem until she changed her hair color and the portrait changed to normal black hair. What the frick Larian?
Wasn't that fixed in like the first hotfix? Piratebros?
I'm playing on steam and it's still there, it's a savefile issue?
my Halsin portrait is neck down to his chest, it's rather odd.
i think it takes portraits according to your graphics settings, and the purple hair thing is a result of lightning being on the wrong angle because of lightning distance rendering or something like that. you could try putting graphics to ultra on next level up, pick multiclass so it takes new poetrait and see if it fixes it
I thought portraits would just update in real time.
Does the game treat her as dead later on if you ko'd her?
Well?
Yes, you can't wake knocked out opponents, the game treats them as dead to avoid game-breaking bugs
If you help her, you can get her to join the party. She has one of the best sex scenes in the game.
This. You get to use her knife ears like handlebars during a blowjob
>You get to use her knife ears like handlebars during a blowjob
JESUS CHRIST
she did not join me, she just tried to kill me and then fricked off spouting something about absolute. And I actually wanted her to join me.
Wait til act 2
There is no reason to side with her/them unless you're being loledgy. Should have given the player at least some argument for choosing that route, like perhaps the druids did something to the goblins or commander years ago and they want revenge.
Literally anything.
I killed her at the very beginning of the game why would you ever want to be with her lol
this
It does make some sense.
>Decide to play Evil character
>Logically you're not going to side with the refugees and druids in the Grove because that is Good aligned
>You instead meet someone who is also evil and who also gives you more inside information regarding the Evil faction
>All you have to do is kill the refugees and Druidd who you weren't helping in the first place, which is very much an Evil act
Best part is destroying the Goblins assault attempt on the grove doesn't even clear the path for them
It's really dumb that you can't just get the tieflings to leave.
Isn't there a persuasion check with Zadnor about convincing the teiflings to leave? I know the druid leader asks you to get rid of them, by force if necessary.
idk if you can just convince them though.
He's just like "ya cool" and doesn't leave.
Did you just say teethlings
If you wipe out all the goblins inside and out the camp, leaving only Minthara (and maybe her goblin commander she's talking to) alive, will the raid still be an army or will there only be spiders?
it makes reason only if you play a lloth sworn drow, those would by default join minthara to frick over other races, however some of them would also kill minthara, becouse lloth is insane.
since minthara has red eyes she should be lloth sworn too, but she is member of the absolute cult, so not sure if it counts.
She was Lolthsworn and if you are you get dialogue options to kill her for forsaking Lolth
I whipped rocks at Halsin in bear form to entertain Asterion and he broke out and I killed him. At that point I know the grove and tieflings can't help me, so why not go undercover?
maybe if Halsin wasn't a dumb Black person that aggros the entire prison when I let him out I wouldn't side with gobbos
It was pretty funny that the first thing he did when he broke out of his cell was to maul a child. He should have been a pitbull morph instead of a bear
it was more moronic than funny really
Halsin is a hilarious character. I thought I would want to take Minthara but Halsin is hilarious
>bear who mauls goblin children like a tard
>elf built like a brick shithouse that people make fun of
>t.Bear fricker
No, I disagree, what they should have done is give an incentive to the player like "we know what to do with the tadpole, we will tell you if you help us".
Goblin should still be the absolutely evil side but have incentive for a pragmatic evil guy to join. As it stands it's utterly illogical and only for dark urge
>there is no reason to side with her
I want to smash purple elf pussy i don't need any other reason moron
Will the game break if I just decide to skip killing the goblins or tieflings and make my way into the underdark? Will minthara be recruitable afterwards in act 2? Will I see the tiefling leader again?
the argument is that you can get closer to the absolute cult by helping minthara (which is what happens, you literally get walked up to the front steps of moonrise)
its obviously an evil option but its not lacking in logic.
this guy is wrong
If they left in the pregnancy stuff then that would've made it worth it
Don't worry dude they are going to add it in the patch, it's just bugged right?
The only question is if they’re going to steadily patch it or add it all in one go for a definitive edition
Maybe they will do so in patch one, they should do so before releasing the game on consoles.
Yes, they will. All the dialogues are voiced and it was only flags trigger issue.
siding with goblins gets you what you want faster without helping a bunch of pathetic whiners
haslin could have left that cage anytime he wanted with wildhsape
teiflings are lazy squatters waiting for someone else to fix their shit for them for free (dont forget the child crime ring shop lifting from the temple, DEVILSPAWN DINDU NUFFIN!)
snakeb***h is a corrupt shadowdruid and about ready to holocaust the entire grove unless, once again someone else does all the work for them
There is a reason and it's straight out told to you by the narrator. The problem that this specific dialogue line appears ONLY is you free the captive goblin from the grove and deliver her to Minthara. I didn't even know about this line until I tried to free the goblin this time around.
>Literally anything.
But anon....writing is really hard!
>wanting to turn the goblins into dindus who are only retaliating
Man you are fricking moronic.
You are beyond imbecilic.
why is that dude so upset?
I thorn whipped her into a deep chasm.
Her corpse is there forever
You missed out on a pretty good early game light armor.
no one in my party uses light armor anyway.
you can snap her neck as durge right after the sex scene
Can you make harem in BG3? Like, sex scenes with every female companion, in single playthrough?
You can have sex with every female companion but only if you sequentially frick, break it off, then romance the next, repeat. You can offer to date multiple at once but all female companions will always refuse and demand you pick one. Male companions will allow you to date multiple at once and not care.
>Male companions will allow you to date multiple at once and not care.
Really makes you think
Frick Larian
thats how it is irl, gays are totally degenerate std spreaders
based larian
>ignores fujoshits making male harem of prettyboys
No. The fact she is the "evil" path is mind boggling.
>Horn Black folk don't want to be in the Grove at all
>Grove is basically just a shitty cap
>Druids are fricking legitimately evil shadow druids
Meanwhile
>Goblins are just hanging out and partying
>Goblins wage war on everyone who keeps fricking with them
Evil alignment cope.
are evil!
>Why?
>>B-B-BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT SEXY LIKE HORN Black folk!!!!
Wrong. Saza's goblin breasts persuaded me to free her.
>just back from raiding an inn
>feasting on dead dwarf
>torturing people
Evil cope.
Also
>goblins are not sexy
moron.
>Raiding an inn
Oh nooo they raided people who attacked them!
>Feasting on dead dwarf
Oh nooo they're eating food!
>Torturing people
*Enemies
Because they are in service of an evil cult that wishes to control the sword coast in service of the dead three.
And even beyond that they're evil because they're fricking Goblins who attack and kill basically anyone they see.
>It's only evil when goblins do it
no it's evil when anybody does it
>tieflings don't want to be there so we should murder and eat all of them including the tieflings
>druids just wanna be left alone so we should murder all of them
>all of this in service to our new dark god
Whats wrong with your brain that you don't see why this is considered evil
murder and eat all of them including the children*
They're all evil, the refugee analogs for being pozbloods, the droods for being mass murderers, and the gobbos for being dumbass cultists doing whatever they're told and also being mass murderers
Mass murdering them seems like the only solution innit
Of course!
Purely in self defense of course.
What's stopping the tieflings from telling the goblins where the druids are in exchange for safe passage?
Being massacred because they aren't True Souls.
The goblins were killing everyone to look for the prism
Why don't they just take a boat to BG?
what's stopping tieflings from going somewhere that's not baldurs gate
Game title
I chuckled
>goblins literally capture Halsin, the grove's chieftain, even though he entered in truce, killed some of his party, chased the rest to the gates, attacked the gates
>GUISE WHY ARE THE TIEFLINGS SO SCARED OF THE POOR HECKIN GOBBOS? THEY COULD'VE JUST WALKED BY! ALL THEY WOULD'VE ENCOUNTERED ON THE ROAD IS THE STREWN ABOUT CORPSES OF THE CARAVANS AND TRAVELLERS THAT THE ABSOLUTISTS HAD ALREADY KILLED!
How do morons of this caliber manage to write sentences? Someone this stupid should be struggling with basic motor skills like hand-eye coordination or even breathing, but he made a whole shitty doodle in paint and attached some watery excrement of an opinion to it.
Is it true you can get her without massacring druids by exposing Kagha's treachery and then killing the leaders other than her and saving Halsin?
No. I exposed Kagha too.
Technically yes but the content for doing that path is REALLY buggy.
I think you need to break Halsin out of his cell, then talk to Minthara but don't reveal the location of the grove, then frick off to the Underdark or something without resolving either side
You CAN do it, but it's actually a glitch because the game is only set up for either Minthara or Halsin in the camp, they occupy the same tent. So if you break the quest and skip killing her, then she just shows up later and can join your camp, but she's bugged and standing next to Halsin.
I don't really care much for Halsin but does doing this allow me to meet the blacksmith tiefling for Karlach's engine in the Last Light Inn? I want to be able to progress Karlach's quest while having minthara on my party
I think that guys dead if you don't save the grove, could be wrong though, haven't saved the grove and karlach left my party
put it out of its misery
How in the world am I supposed to win the fight against Yurgir?
Joining Minthara makes the reddit characters leave. Good path. Correct path. GOAT'd path.
>Astarion still in the party
Not all of them!
its plausible given you can get Aerie pregnant in BG2.
Aerie's mortal ending is fricking kino, go live comfortably in the mountains away from all the shit and just breed non-stop.
>it would give male characters a shitload more content.
AND?!
You could just be a futa in game
Is it possible to recruit minthara wihtout going meme evil and losing party member?
Technically yes but it's very buggy right now so it's unclear if it's intentional. You basically have to ignore the entire grove/refugee quest and just go to Act 2 without resolving it.
just ignore the main quest
I decided to leave her alive and just move on to Act 2. Then I "rescued" her from prison, although the game didn't account for the exact way I went about it and it was a little funny. But yeah, after that you can use her in your party and you get some stuff with her in Act 3.
How do you kill the hobgoblin leader without triggering all the other ones?
Just kill everyone in every room except for the Minthara area.
Don't work, i tested, even if i kill everyone in one turn minthara turn hostile after killing hobgoblin. It's scripted it seem.
yeah you can kill gut and minthara without the camp going hostile but as soon as you kill the hob everyone loses their shit and sazza bugs out.
>Don't work, i tested, even if i kill everyone in one turn minthara turn hostile after killing hobgoblin
Where is it stated in my post that she doesn't go hostile?
Just kill everyone except for Minthara, don't even go near her.
Then frick off to act 2, learn to read.
i am not reading all the shit you wrote, troony.
you should learn to make shorter sentences.
Person who you replied ask how to kill hobgob without camp going hostile. You provided false info. I corrected you. That's all.
You don't
Have fun killing everyone in the stronghold
No; the way people have posted is clearly a bug and not intentional
Basically you get Halsin if you're good and Minathra if you're bad - it's lame but that's how it's intended
You can literally get her by just ignoring the druid problem
Like I said, you can get her if you're bad
>generic evil henchwoman with the voice of a 50 year old chain smoker
I dunno if you have to kill her necessarily but there is no reason for her to be in my party
Can't wait until the devs post that update roadmap to see if they fix her, might as well just frick around in act 1 until they do so.
Considering how evil she is I question this games definition of paladin
Not that evil overall if you consider her whole story.
She was a paladin of Lolth. Ok sure, they have oaths not gods now but still she talks about it. Oddly, she is still oath of vengeance when you get her in your party, but after what she's been through she really should be an oathbreaker.
She seems to be the best written companion in the game by miles, this is exactly the kind of person you'd want by your side
Goddamn her voice is horrendous. I wouldn't be able to listen to that all game.
upper class britbong voice
she needs a strong man to dominate and bring her feminine side out
>upper class britbong voice
the frick it is
I wouldn't believe the VA is english if not for the fact it says so everywhere I look
it sounds like the kind of voice you get when you ask an old american lady to sound like a snooty baroness
Sounds like thick West Country + RP to me.
Similar to the narrator now I think about it, though not as thick since the tractors and cider only comes out when you hear the outtakes
She's got some great dialogue, I made a clip of this one because it's one of my favorite monologues from any of the companions. Spoilers for Act 1 and 2
Her voice acting is great and fits her well. She's not a young cute shadowheart waifu, she's an evil drow matron and a warlord, even before the cult of the absolute.
This has nothing to do with her voice not being pretty enough or anything.
I'm saying her voice sounds bad. It's like nails on a chalkboard, I hate it.
I love it.
Even if it could be described as grating it suits the character and makes her more defined. The others are so generic they could be mistaken for any other mage/swordsman/cutegirl/gruffgirl/girlbossgirl in media
Already better than halsin, his entire thing just seems to be being a Gay bear obsessed with an eternal child.
Prove me wrong.
>the gay bear is also a pedophile groomer
hmmm...
>admires all women
lmao
This your first time learning about the drow?
yes, the drow are famously magnanimous in praise of other drow families. Let alone non-drow.
shes an outcast and the drow are stanch feminists and she's talking about her new allies.
Of course she still thinks men are below her.
she's woman so I sided with her
Did I miss the sex scene with shadowheart at the party. We just layed on some rocks and kissed.
She doesn't let you frick until the end of the game.
>No secks b4 marriage!
Worst Selune worshipper ever
If you side with her and the goblins you can bang her right away
you fug after you finish her personal quest and you teach her how to swim
wtf is going on
>Still in act 1
>Dude Cthulhu
>Dude Vampires
>Dude mystery homies
>Dude the Devil himself
I went in blind, had no idea what was happening and loved it so much. I had the same feeling in act 1.
>What the frick is going on? I just want this fricking parasite out of my brain
>the Devil himself
You may not be familiar with D&D, but Raphael is just a random devil, he's not "The Devil". There's multiple different Hells, each ruled over by their own Archdevil Lord, and all of them full of devils of all different levels of power. This guy is just one of the many, many out there. He's actually not even special or notable.
>You may not be familiar with D&D
I sure ain't.
Imagine my confusion when Cthulhu was attacking Assassins Creed town in the opening scene only for dragons to Hyperdrive in and attack his space ship.
DnD sounds a lot cooler when you describe it
Raphael is on the verge of becoming an Archdevil. He's the hardest fight in the game if you choose to go against him.
I thought Cazador would be a nasty fight, but then he decided to get into a lightning pissing match with shadowcute while standing next to a ledge
>while standing next to a ledge
Same shit happened in mine, I thought I was in for hell with his gimmick and then he teleported right next to a ledge so I punted him off
I thought he'd be a hard fight until I remembered I stol a mace that hard counters him. Or you know, the fact daylight is a cleric spell.
>on the verge of becoming an archdevil
>gets beaten by a couple level 12s
Yeah
To be fair, could he have really planned for adventurers to detonate a barrel of runepowder next to his pillars, summon an army of ghouls to muck up the surviving Cambions, and to get gangbanged by by those level 12s while he's still reeling form the backlash?
>tfw he kept trying to kill Gale I had to keep him alive
STOP TRYING TO BLOW US UP
>He's the hardest fight in the game if you choose to go against him.
No.
>filename
is he actually tough on tactician? on normal he's pretty easy
Depends on if you're trying to keep Hope alive or not.
Book of Thay is a life saver because the Ghouls confuse the AI and eventually the paralysis will connect.
>He's actually not even special or notable.
He has a Disney song during his bossfight. That counts for something right?
>add that female PC can get pregnant with Gale kid
Boom, problem solved. Equal content.
I did since I am larping as a good guy paladin. Next playthrough I will side with her though.
i made druids and tieflings kill each others and then headed to the githchuds
Is paladin just the best class?
I used a barb and a fighter and they do frick all damage.
Meanwhile my veng paladin hits for like 100+ when he crits.
for barb youre supposed to pick tavern brawler and throw javelins
Yes because you just use your smite crit on the most dangerous foe, 1 shot him and the rest of your crew can mop up the leftovers.
>why the frick did you kill all the druids dude i was mind controlled by the absolute so i have an excuse but you were immune so explain???
Frick this c**t I wanted an actual evil b***h on my team
goblins
>likeable, scrappy, full of personality
thieflings
>thiefs
>squatters
>only care about muh survival
Yeah, the goblins were above and beyond based. The anti-goblin rhetoric and le evil path is just low effort unimaginative cop out that permeates the whole of BG3.
Goblins were gay for abandoning their god. Except that one goblin they locked up for not switching sides
You realise that their old “god” is just another crazy person starting a cult. Right?
I want to play a goblin. they're by far the best short race out of dwarves haflings gnomes and kobolds. Love those little guys.
She is right though
She is an evil b***h. She just isn't an illogical evil b***h. She approves of you butchering them to deceive her. She consistently approves of every evil action you take unless it's pointless psycho nonsense or subservient.
This. They absolutely ruined her
>Goblins
>Just surviving
>Tieflings
>Stealing land and being dicks about everything
>Druids
>Attacking everyone and trying to cast doomsday spells just because
um................................................................
Crack a Black person trannies skull with a hammer
>Complain about troons while being a furgay and having a furgay on your team
lol brown boy hella mad
sorry i don't speak animal fricker
>t. goat fricker
Where's fur though
take that trans people
Hahahaha. 25dmg? Pathetic.
yeah i killed all the fricking goblins and the children
>bear breaks out of cage
>goblin child starts running to the door crying for the guards
>chase her down and gut her
most satisfying gameplay moment yet
>other children
>disappear during combat
>goblin children
>can be murdered freely
hmm what did they mean by this bros?
Will killing one of those dreugur make the whole building hostile?
do these do different things or can i just sell the drow one
Stealth is better. +1 Stealth means that enemy vision cones are reduced and you get +1 on checks.
left is better apparently according to my dnd nerd friend i had the same question
The basic explanation is: Stealth +1 means that you get benefits in everything stealth related, from skills to checks, a +1 bonus in checks means you will get that benefit only on that case
left is cuter, so wear that (I ignore stats)
also true, astarion looks very stylish in the drow gear
playing as a cleric of Eilistraee makes that choice pretty obvious. She isn't about to repent and submit any time soon
>make sexy goblins
>cant add one to your party permanently
>cant breed one
Ill never forgive them.
They were clearly afraid of upsetting people because there are no small sized companions for me to sex
just pick gnome and make it green
I hope someone makes a girlfriend mod for Gale because he deserves one but I'm not gonna play a girl and/or frick him.
you'll never compare to goddess pussy tho why bother
>be playing dark urge evil playthrough
>destroy the grove with the goblins and have a party
>reject minthara because bioware romance gives me aids
>she turns hostile and turns all the goblins in the act hostile
now my act 1 has no towns or vendors on the first map and I feel cheated out of any evil progression
download the mod that gives her a wiener, makes it worth it
minthara
why are you gay?
I just want to kill
>Bhaal spawn
>Not wanting to spread his seeds to as many women as possible
Anon, you are failing at Bhaal spawn role play
You made the classic mistake in thinking drow would be able to handle rejection
see
Yeah, save yourself the disappointment when you recruit her and she completely changes her personality. I can't describe how big of a letdown she turned out to be.
don't have the game, but let-down how? what changed?
She goes from being an evil villain to being a straith laced paladin, the worst part is the only people who would like that are forced to kill her by their paladin oaths so they'll never get to romance her anyway
*straight-laced
>straight laced paladin
>"Why did you kill everyone in druid grove"
>"To impress you"
>approval up
Oh you're just autistic
She's way better later. Reminds me of based Regill.
Regill was the only thing that kept be going through the later acts of WotR. He's such a fricking bro
she has almost no special dialogue, her romance is bugged or unfinished
her sex scene is best one and she's a paladin tho
>her romance is bugged or unfinished
Game's been out for a while, any news from Larian on fixing this and Act 3 in general?
looks like the Minthara romance will be fixed in a future patch but who knows when
First patch is supposedly like 1000+ fixes
Game is still buggy as frick and it's been a very long time since the last patch
Those were hotfixes. That anon is talking about the patch they announced they're working on.
>be Dark Urge
>tactician solo
>not using sorlock so game is remotely tricky at this stage
>best way to create a pile of bodies is to sick both camps on each other
>since the goblins are technically outmatched, siding with them means you can kite the druids through the overrun camp and watch is the goblin invader bodies pile up
>once you're done watching the goblins get slaughtered, you finish off the druids
>depite a near total loss of all life on both the invasion force and the defenders, the mission is considered a success
>Minthara wants to frick you
>Agree
>Hot sex scene
>Immediately after, snap her neck as you lie post coitus in one final lust for murder
>Astarion who is the only person hanging out in my camp watches on in morbid curiosity
>I plan on cleaving him in half the moment he tries to bite me
As soon as I heard that deep raspy voice I knew that my hammer would crush her puny skull
>Attacking Moonrise tower with the Harpers and shit
>Get through the ground floor, it's a long (but not difficult) fight, just super annoying because fricking Hunger of Hadar makes everyone drop their weapons.
>There's a pile of a million corpses to loot and find my characters' weapons among to re-equip after they dropped them.
>Pick up a sword. Apparently it's owned by someone.
>One of the random Harpers is like "You're under arrest!"
>Only option is to go to jail.
>Jail. In the middle of a fricking battle in the enemy stronghold.
>They send me to the fricking jail under Moonrise tower.
Bro this game is actually moronic.
There is a flag "minthara kid not players" just for that
Shit game and frick every last one of you for playing this bullshit. You homosexuals reee about any type of fan service in Japanese games. but you guys give this game a free pass because it made by the west.
Black person I dont even know about le japanese games apart from ER, the frick are ypu on about
We fricking won
>it currently only works if you did no other romance scenes throughout the entire game
based monogamous drow romance
>he thinks she's monogamous toward you too
yes, she's literally in my party 24/7 bro, there's no time she could frick anyone else
Shit I like get censored to hell or ban because it's a Japanese game. But this game is allowed to do whatever it wants because it's made by the west. Go have a nice day racist hypocrites
>Larian self publishes their own games
>no one fricks with them
>asiatics have third party caliBlack folk localize their games
>games get fricked with
sounds like the asiatics need to stop jobbing their shit out to the lowest bidder
After all
Why SHOULDN'T I romance a drow female
Because you have yo rp a 3 IQ character for the storyline that leads to it to make sense
cope tiefling
You can ignore the Tiefflings/Grove conflict. Which isn't stupide if you consider that your priority is to get rid of the illithid worm.
Look at that if a Japanese game doesn't any type of fan service you get call a fricking pedophile for liking that game. But this game can do whatever it wants because it's made by the fricking West you fricking racist hypocrite .
Shut up troony
this was the most hilariously obnoxious sex scene i have ever seen in vidya
bravo larian
because it literally has the face of a dude
Oh no that Japanese games is full of underage characters ban it now you pedophiles. The racist hypocrite sure love to throw the word pedophile around over Japanese games. but this game get a free fricking pass because it made by the west.
If I give you a (you) will you be a passive aggressive weeb somewhere else?
Go have a nice day homosexual. You don't know shit b***h
>Is it a sign of some sort of mental deficiency
>playing ESO
yes
I'm sorry I want to relax, drink some wawa and listening to some decent VA while I enjoy some story.
You're probably just satiated on it for now. I'm in Act 3 now and slowing down a bit, playing some other things. Also waiting for the game to get patched more since I've heard it gets buggier the further in you are.
Can I accidentally mess up my chances of getting this b***h?
I just saved the outpost from a goblin attack and I am now attempting to rescue this goblina from her cage.
Also don't paladins suck ass?
Just goes to cutscene.
>evil drow b***h
>paladin
I cant take neo-dnd seriously
Why can't evil gods have their unholy knights anon?
because paladins can only be lawful good
>but muh alignments are gone
dont care, didnt ask
alignments never fricking worked
they always worked unless you were low iq
alignments were always subjective and fell apart once you think about motives and results
it's a setting with objective morality
Objective morality comes from God and there's many in this game with differing opinions on the matter
Ao doesn't care what the other "gods" think about the issue.
nothing subjective about lawful good. it's the alignment of someone who maintains their society, which is a society where good races (humans, elves, dwarves, etc.) thrive.
>b-but what about the GOBLINS? the GOBLINS think that those societies are evil!!
goblins don't get to have an opinion. nor do orcs, or ogres, or drow, or
and who decided who are the good races hmmm....
sure isn't someone whose opinion doesn't matter
yes but it was decided by someone, by that definition it's already subjective
That's like saying that 2+2=4 is subjective, because someone had to subjectively make that evaluation. Some things are just objectively morally good, the same that 2+2=4 is objectively true, which is why so many living things live in morally good ways. The wolf who defeats another wolf and chooses not to kill it after it surrenders is being morally good, not for subjective arbitrary reasons, but because that behaviour is beneficial to both of them. That's what we call moral goodness. The evil races all behave in ways destructive not just to others but also to themselves. But since it's a magical fantasy world, they don't all go extinct because of that, because the gods think its funny to fill their world with evil creatures.
>good = that which benefits the most
frick outa here with this utilitarian gobbledyasiatic
It's not utilitarian, you dumb frick. The good anon is talking about is for the self.
>objective
>the self
ok moronicus
I mean I could agree if there weren't moronic exceptions to the rule like individuals of evil races not being evil
Low tier evil races like goblins or w/e just submit to higher power most of the time so killing them instead of using them for ""the greater good"" is moronic. You tardwrangle evil people with laws so why not evil races
Then there's the whole another can of worms with you could have a serial killer that just by chance killed only ""more"" evil people than him. Seeing how his actions benefited the greater good that means he's good now? Thief that steals from people is good because he randomly stole some mcguffin that evil cult required?
stop the press anon has solved morality, it really was that simple
Ok Jodan Peterson
Explain why survival is morally good then, since it seems to be the base your whole idea rests upon
To be fair she should be a Paladin of Conquest rather than Vengeance, but the devs didn't add that one.
It's in, but NPC only
So what are the chances the pally bladelock extra attacks bug is going to be fixed in the first major patch?
>game about fighting psionic squids
>no psionic class
You get more psionic powers the more tadboosters you use. Safe and effective.
I will not eat ze bugs, Schwab.
It is immunizing and good for your health can't you fricking see all the healthy black veins on your face and body after using it homosexual
you vill eat ze bug and you vill be happy
How do we feel about getting catfished with our dream waifu (canonically) by a gay squid?
is the emperor actually a dude? my headcannon was that we were dreaming of their previous "adventurer" self i.e. whatever you made - but i may have missed the game saying otherwise
No, in the flashback he's always a human male. Or at least he looked like a human male, I wasn't paying attention.
Yes and he was straight before meeting (You)
I want my Chuuni Tiefling back, damnit. which is really funny because my character never trusted him and even stabbed him
But my purple skinned, white haired, heterochima with tatttooo around her eye waifu was cute!
Well, as cute as the shitty skin textures can allow her to be.
>my headcannon was that we were dreaming of their previous "adventurer" self i.e. whatever you made - but i may have missed the game saying otherwise
he summons them in the final fight if you free Orph so no, pretty sure that's just him using everyone's ideal waifu/husbando
also he's literally Balduran
He is literally Balduran, founder of the city of the same name.
well frick me
how the frick did i miss that
i was very mean to him in every cutscene so that may have skewed things
there's hidden room in prison of wyrm's rock
>be drow during act 1
please don't kill me, darkie elf noooooo
>be drow in act 2 onwards
>no reactivity at all
Huh?
Is there a drow enclave in BG now or what?
Tiefling and Druids were racist. The Denizens of Baldur's Gate are not racist but hate refugees.
racist rurals, unlike the socially progressive urbanites
i keep thinking of different playthroughs for reactivity purposes and im certain it'll come down to 1 or two lines over a 60 hour campaign
I'm more or less just going to play the origins next then finish the game off with Durge.
Or maybe I'll do Durge next, but anons say it literally was just Tav+, so that sounds boring.
my first playthrough was durge and i cannot imagine playing through as a no-backstory custom
good or evil - durge feels like its the canonical playthrough
>playing dark urge second playthrough after chaotic good custom playthrough
>accidentally rip gale's arm off when you meet him
>wyll leaves when you assault the grove
>accidentally snap minthara's neck
At this point I reloaded because I want her on board
Bwos I'm gonna be real with you playing tactitian mode on second playthrough, it feels like the game is more tedious, or is it just the knowledge of playing each encounter a second time?
>it feels like the game is more tedious
welcome to crpg difficulty modes
I only ever played in Tactician and it doesn't feel tedious to me but I'm still in chapterino 1
the tedious part comes from tactician throwing more enemies at you, which would be fine if it didn't turn a 10 minute fight into a 40 minute slog of waiting for turn orders because the morons at larian think swarming you with a bunch of jobbers translates well with their combat design
Does it actually throw more enemies at you? I know about the bloated health and AC. Tactician only interested me because of the smarter AI and more enemy moves, anything that makes combat longer just sucks ass
it gets bad enough that any form of explosive/knockback in arrow or ability form becomes your most precious resource purely for the sake of shaving 30 minutes off a fight bloated with shitty enemies 4 levels below your team
i was very happy when the game was finally over
The best part is that eventually one of them will crit, and if it was an enemy Paladin, say goodbye to that character.
Dropping a field of ice and watching an entire army of enemies all fall prone over and over as they try and get to you is the funniest shit.
For me it’s the fact that the death shepherd keeps moving away to summon shit tier adds that die instantly to the AOEs rather than staying to buff the undead.
should try doing all the evil options then picking the remorseful/regret options in dialogue because there actually does seem to be a lot kek.
I opened the Necronomicon in a bag in my inventory and I think its supposed to be bound to me but instead its bound to the bag. I can just drop the bag or trade the bag to another character.
>Shoot hinge to chandelier
>It remains in the air from pure hatred alone
o-okay
All these bug reports are making me think maybe im better of waiting a few more months before continuing the game
Are you fricking serious?
We truly were a baldur gate 3 in the end
I thought this was a red dead redemption screenshot for a moment.
Bravo Nolan
Tavern brawler monk has brought me much joy so far
Now I just gotta get all the cool monk shit B)
The gloves you get from House of Hope in act 3 look so good for monk.
Honestly, House of Hope is pretty much set for fixing the Monk's stupid level stat spread.
True, leaving that place any Monk turns into a literal god
Is the monk stat spread worse than 5e? Figuring out how to build a monk was the worst parts of playing one on tabletop, and didn't Larian decide to change how Dex works slightly?
Is there any point in doing an "evil" playthrough?
The game does very little to give me any reason whatsoever to murder the druid camp
also act 3 a shit
No. I'm playing full throttle Dark Urge and it's basically speed run with glitches. Less companions and less quests. All you get in return is invisibility cloak and +99 hp
>elf
>female
Gee I don't know Anon
>No more thinking, just elf murder and gay sex.
Wow, Pelinal would be right at home in this game.
>murders all the tieflings because their ears are too pointy, kills the goblins too for the same reason.
You have the responsibility to kill anyone you don't like
Currently playing as DU, act 1 is finished.
>Wyll and Karlach leave immediately
I expected them to confront me. This whole raid thing is disappointing.
if i change Wylls class does his plotline change at all or is it just set in stone?
I see that there are Wyll and Karlach dialogue with Minthara, how the frick do you keep those 3 together ?
Wyll just fricked off and Karlach attacked me after I fricked the grove
Gotta sequence break
In English doc
frick off and don't raid or save the grove
>Fighting Kethric beneath the Illithid dungeon
>One party member instantly zaps over to the Moon lady to help
>Then my Paladin PC pops up next to Kethric and drops 3 hasted Smites on him, dropping him in one round.
>He turns into Bone Boy
>It only has like 200 HP.
>Two more rounds of smites and a swing from Karlach and the thing is dead.
Wow, that was...underwhelming.
Same, but I got to see the shittiest Angel get downed immediately by Ketheric "Spare the smite, she becomes a dyke" Thorm.
Does she have fun lines like Astarion?
She chimes in but she's more serious. I actually like her a lot because she's the only party member who backs you and your companions gaining power at all costs, everyone else usually b***hes if you want a companion to seize new powers through evil
The "evil" side is so half baked they should've just stripped it from the game
Completely pointless
I agree. And it was literally the reason for me buying the game. I've had enough heroic playthroughs in my life. I didn't need yet another
Is there a list of all the legendary / unique items in the game so far? I'd like to see what sort of shit they offer.
yes
Is there any really solid items to buy in Act 3? I'm sitting on a fricking mountain of cash, and I'm not sure if it's even worth checking traders anymore.
Dammon has great heavy armor if you somehow ignored the adamantine one or Thorm's
I have the Adamantine, and his Hell Iron stuff, though I never even looked at that to see if it was worth it.
Check merchants. Master Carrion has a great spell casting hood that increases your spell save dcs. The kid in the Guildhall who sells stolen goods sells a cap that reduces the number required to score a crit. Probably some others I forget but look around, definitely stuff to buy
It’s also stupidly cheap for how useful the hat is
Lel I ended up killing the entire compound because one of her boohyahgs got greedy
Bug I found that threw me for a moment but is ultimately not that interesting: if you go to camp while you're in a safe zone but your companions are one step behind you in a danger zone, they won't follow you to camp and just won't be around.
Threw me for a moment, thought my game was royally messed up.
Can I form a viable party with only female party members? How many total are there?
>shadow
>Kalach
>Lazezel
Ye you're good, also best party
>Shadow
>Minthra
>Lazel
fixed
So long as you're a mage yes
I ran most of the game with Lae'zel, Shadowheart and Karlach
>So long as you're a mage yes
Welp there goes my plan to run a muscle futa orc warrior
Well if you turn the difficulty down to easy you can do whatever you want if that's what's important to you
My PC was pretty much useless in fights (lore bard) and I finished the game on tactician without tadpoling
>bard
>useless
???
On tactician casters are useless
You can just respec companions shortly into the game. Play what you want and change your harem members classes accordingly
Neat thanks
you don't need a mage if you play on normal
Oh good to know
Should I change shadowhearts class after she becomes a Justiciar? I was thinking oathbreaker or fighter
Her new abilities do seem like they would be more useful for a melee class, not sure what though. I kept all my companions the same class as they started
You should have a nice day.
>attractive, dark-skinned, ruthless woman from a different culture
Minthara is LITERALLY the white man's choice.
Remember: if there was a branch of humans that would interact with silver a it more - we would have actual drows irl. If there was a branch of humans that needed just a bit more iron in their blood - we would have tieflings irl. Instead we got Black folk.
>you were supposed to impregnate her
Would have made her actually worth recruiting, but gays and trannies hate pregnancy I guess
I think it was confirmed that flags not working is a bug and will be fixed sometime later(like Elden Ring fixed quests like month after release)
It is bugged and only trigger if you didn't have any romance scenes previously, they are fixing it
I think I have an idea about this, does someone know what happens to the druids in act 1 if you just leave? The whole "pregnant with player's baby" or not makes me think that even if we do end up getting pregnancy we will still need to genocide the druids and the tieflings if we want the baby to be ours.
I thought it was a neat little thing that Balduran won't impersonate a dragonborn because of Ansur, and he wears Ansur's armor as the guardian.
I just want a drow companion
yes and you can get that, I want a vampire(female) or dragon companion but that's never going to happen in crpgs
>NEED
you don't
Then how I go through the Shadowlands then?
use your brain. if you're even a little good at critical thinking you'll figure it out.
Use torch or whatever in starting area, find either caravan with spiderleg dude, or inn where jahera gives you a quest to find caravan, kill caravan, pick up lantern and free pixie from it, ask for protection in return. Now you can go into tollhouse and nearby locations with "thick" shadows as well
put some points in INT bro
Light cantrip
Sunlight spell
A normal goddamn torch
None of those do anything
And I was supposed to know this blind, how? I walked around the available areas in the shadowland and I did not see any of this
You wasn't supposed to sell the fricking lute a character told you you would need later, you fricking moron
Except the fricking Lyre. That's the POINT I'm making here
>Stop skipping dialogue you colossal brainlet.
I didn't. Stop making dumb fricking assumptions.
>Minthara explains
My Paladin raided the temple and killed the cultists on sight. When I got to the Drow she was hostile on sight and I smited her.
>Nere explains it if you save him
And I killed him before talking to him because he was a cultist and slaver. My Paladin had nothing to say to him
>Jaheira explains it if you go by the underdark
I did not see her and I cleared the underdark already
I didn't skip shit.
>my paladin can't advance because he was impractical enough not to get valuable intel about the dark depths
Good game design. Live with your choices.
Right. Because I roleplayed, my save should be brinked. Makes sense.
It works in Morrowind because it WARNS me there. The game doesn't WARN you that the lyre is a quest item. That's bad design. If this were any other game, you would rightfully call it eurojank
It doesn't warn you because the lyre isn't the only way to progress
Isn't this game made in eastern euro?
It IS eurojank.
how do you know you need the lute if no one in the game told you? you came to a obstacle, why didnt you keep exploring instead of doing a shit job googling a walkthrough and decided only one solution (which you fricked up) is the right one?
>how do you know you need the lute if no one in the game told you?
The game literally tells you when you go to the Shadowlands. You walk up to the Half-Orc, then he tells you: "Sorry, bro. We can't guide you through the area unless you have the Drow's Lyre."
> why didnt you keep exploring
I did. Every area was blocked off. If I tried to walk through, my party started taking damage.
obviously you didnt, or you would have found last light
all quest items are marked orange.
Stop skipping dialogue you colossal brainlet.
Minthara explains it when she gives it to you
Nere explains it if you save him
Jaheira explains it if you go by the underdark
Your dumb ass skipping dialogue isn’t the game’s problem
I don't even get what you're flipping your shit about.
I killed Minthara, don't even remember the lute you're crying about, and I've beaten Act 2 completely.
You link up with some of the Harpers to ambush some goblins and a drider to steal the faerie lamp thing, that's how you get through the super cursed areas.
It’s fine that you didn’t think of these, but it’s not fine to pretend you did because you’re worried about looking like an idiot.
Any normal light source will work fine until the deep shadows, and you can get past those by exploring the areas you can access with normal light.
its called the "shadowlands" what does that imply? that its dark. what gets rid of dark? light.
You can just use ze bug in your head to summon the lamp guy.
t. didn't have the lamp on me
I told Minthara where the grove was and once she left the room i shot the support beam for the bridge and she died
I killed her because I didn't know you could sex her
And the goblins were really getting too uppity to be left alone
>meet new character
>they're evil
>reload the game
>push them into a bottomless pit before even talking to them
Fantastic gameplay, 10/10
WHY IS THIS POSSIBLE
should have played halfling.
i feel like savescumming is how you're supposed to play
5% chance is a lot higher than some might think
They should've left her EA form.
Too hot, wouldn't be able to side against
I just eradicated every single goblin on sight with my LG aligned adventurers, the only one I laid off was the Maglubiyet priest they had locked up in a cage. Next playthrough my durge tiefling supervillainess psychopath tav will infiltrate the cult, wipe it out, take her and keep her around on a short leash and kill her if she steps out of line.
>Save Tieflings from prison
>Even though I only found two, Alfira gave a nice robe for it plus a bunch of scrolls and potions
>Save Gnomes from prison
>Not so much as a thank you, little bastard's outright dismissive
Tiefling's are alright, kill all Gnomes.
that gnome is a seething manlet just like the other deepgnomes. Something about being small and in a dark place really makes someone a real butthole.
kill everyone to reach level cap in act 2
is there enough XP for that? Feels like you could stay ahead of the curve at best if you murdered everyone.
I saw one anon posting that he reached level cap in act 2 and I can belive it
You would probably have to do every quest for every side and kill them after it
>kill them after it
You don't get XP from killing quest NPC after you're done with their quest.
wow that's kinda shit
No thats actually good gamedesign preventing dumbass munchkinism
>people kill all NPCs in DOS2 for extra XP
>get way ahead the curve and then proceed to complain that the game is way too easy now
>Larian fixes this
>>wow that's kinda shit
he already """"fixed it"""" by making a shitty level cap, even if you don't munchkin you can easily reach it halfway through act 3
All crpgs have a level cap anon
>halfway through act 3
Oh so near the end of the game? I dont see the problem
yes but in most crpgs you don't reach the level cap 30 hours before the end, sidequests felt fricking pointless cause the rewards were shit, exp you get is literally useless and it doesnt even matter because lmao no ending slides
meh, getting a mod that raises a level cap feels better especially since you fight 12+ shit anyway
Idk id be pretty miffed if my build was only relevant at max power for a tiny bit of the game
I prefer it this way
I don't cause you lose all sense of progression
Level cap in tabletop is 20 anyway so you will never reach max power anyway
Basically everything else is meh, some of the "legendary" items aren't even +3.
>a Drow
They have to be dealt with in the harshest possible way. I fear that is the only thing to do.
Large, frilly, colorful dresses that are a hassle to get on and somewhat uncomfotable to wear?
Hand holding and ear lobe nibbling until she becomes a sopping mess willing to repent any sins for a traditional marriage?
>moron killing everything and gets mad when the game doesnt hold his hand afterwards
Glad larian is exposing how stupid some of you are
I didn't kill everything. I slaughtered Goblins and their Drow leader because they were evil, and tormenting the nearby Druid grove. Ya know...what a PALADIN is supposed to do.
Yes you made a roleplaying decision. Now live with the consequences.
Is int your irl dumpstat as well?
>Now live with the consequences.
My consequences are being locked out of a zone? Because the devs were too dumb to mark a quest item...as a quest item?
[Handhold] you dont need the lyre to get the moonlantern from karniss[/handhold]
>should i hold this unique item that I got off the body of a boss?
>no lol thats moronic
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WAS IMPORTANT!?
i hold this unique item that I got off the body of a boss?
My point here? This game is a buggy piece of shit right now. If the game weren't buggy, then the Lyre would've been marked as a quest item.
skill issue
I bet you burned the free hug ticket in Little Inferno, soulless pleb
work on your critical thinking
You moron. The Lyre is not marked as a quest item, other items in the game are. This is ELEX tier eurojank.
Larian could shit in your mouths and you morons would defend it as a feature
k you're still a fricking moron and you don't need the Lyre to progress
>k you're still a fricking moron
Concession accepted, b***h. Glad to see you agree the game has some dogshit design choices.
It doesn't though. You're just moronic.
>It doesn't though.
Some items despite being pivotal to quests, are not marked as quest items, while other items pivotal to quests are. This is bad game design.
If you kill Grym and he dies near the Admantum Forge, then you can no longer use the Admantum Forge to craft items, because his corpse will block the forge. This is bad game design.
Grease and more than half of the spells in this game are bugged, so that their DC does not scale. This is bad game design.
moron
The lyre inst pivotal to the quest though
lol I love how you were crying about your save being "bricked" and then when you got informed that you're wrong and a fricking idiot you've just defaulted to randomly crying about things that are completely unrelated with your original complaints
it's amazing what depths some people will stoop to in order to avoid admitting any kind of fault
The fact is this game is poorly designed. A well designed RPG would've told me that Quest Items were get this...QUEST ITEMS. A novel concept, I know!
You don't NEED the lyre. It's one of several ways to progress.
>I need games to hold my haaaaand
Not an argument
>Okay, you're still
Nope. Also, glad you agree you're wrong
You are objectively a fricking idiot, you have like 3 different people calling you one.
You are objectively defending bad game design. I don't care what the masses have to say on the manner. If ten people tell you to jump off a cliff, would you?
>on the manner
good morning sir
>You are objectively defending bad game design
The fact that I don't even know what you're talking about with the lyre shit despite being in Act 3 is objectively good game design. Continue to keep crying that the game is apparently too hard for you.
>good morning sir
moron, I'm not an ESL. And what I said wasn't grammatically incorrect.
>The fact that I don't even know what you're talking about with the lyre shit despite being in Act 3 is objectively good game design
The Lyre is a quest item. But it's not marked as one. This is bad game design. Period.
In tabletop the dm doesn't mark items as quest items and no problem arises since every player usuaally has an IQ above 80.
I am sorry larian designed the game with this idea in mind and didn't account for special people like you anon, maybe skyrim would be more your thing?
>In tabletop the dm doesn't mark items as quest items and no problem arises since every player usuaally has an IQ above 80.
And your DM wouldn't let you sell it.
And your DM would make it clear to you that it was important.
And other modern CRPGs don't have this issue.
And other important items in the game ARE mocked as quest items.
So stop defending this.
>And your DM wouldn't let you sell it.
wow you play with this dms
I play with GOOD DMs.
It is important
>I would absolutely
Then you're a jackass
It isn't. I literally never used and had no idea it existed. I'm on Act 3.
>And your DM would make it clear to you that it was important.
It's not important, it's completely optional.
I would absolutely let my dumbass bard sell the item, so they can all shittalk him for several sessions while they find a way around it.
>I'm not an ESL. And what I said wasn't grammatically incorrect.
Yeah you are, and yes it is. The fact that you're defending it and not just saying it was a typo proves it. The phrase you meant is "on the matter". What you said makes zero sense.
>The Lyre is a quest item. But it's not marked as one.
So what? If it bricked your save like you originally, erroneously claimed you'd have a point here, but it doesn't. You're just embarrassed that you were wrong and are getting called a moronic mouthbreather by multiple people so you've resorted to throwing a hissyfit about it.
>Yeah you are
Considering I was born and raised in the United States? Considering I had straight A's in english throughout High School? Yeah, no.
>he fact that you're defending it and not just saying it was a typo proves it
It's not a typo moron.

https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/in-the-manner-of-somebody-something
https://ludwig.guru/s/based+on+the+manner
>What you said makes zero sense.
It does if you're not moronic
>So what?
It should be, like EVERY OTHER FRICKING QUEST ITEM IN THE GAME IS
None of those links are what you said you moron. You did not say "in the manner of" or "based on the manner".
lmao are you seriously this flustered? I've never seen someone BTFO themselves like this.
This legal document proves I used it in the right context
https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/amdt1-7-3-5/ALDE_00013699/
>"based on the manner in which [they] transmit their messages to viewers"
you are 100% ESL lmao
you did not say "based on" you fricking idiot
Okay, you're still a fricking a moron. A well designed brain wouldn't have missed that quest that's literally right at the entrance to Last Light.
I hope you remember this post and flagellate yourself whenever you even think about complaining about games getting dumbed down.
And yes, I do mean literally flagellate yourself, because this DSP tier whining and refusal to take responsibility is exactly why games are made with literal morons in mind now.
You're defending blatantly bad game design.
Instead of getting angry and showering me with insults, you should be angry at the game for not marking a quest item...as a quest item.
>why isnt this completely optional item marked specially for me who cant think for himself. I need directions todd always gives me directions wahh
he's a fricking idiot and doesn't understand that it's optional, he thinks his save is "bricked"
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WAS IMPORTANT?!?
>IT ONLY HAD A UNIQUE NAME AND DESCRIPTION
>I NEED QUESTMARKERS AND DIRECTIONS TO KNOW WHAT IM DOING!!!! SHIT DESIGN!!!!
>her
grug see knife ear
grug kill knife ear
simple as
does raphael give you anything for killing thorn without doing atharion back reading?
>her
>Make the male PC the heavy armor wearing tank
>Respec Karlach into a Bard, her upbeat personality matches the class much more than a fricking Barbarian
>Respec Gale into a Sorcerer, he literally states multiple times that magic came natural to him, that's the very definition of a Sorcerer, not a Wizard
>Respec Lae'zel into a Monk, females can't be warriors.
>Respec Halsin into a moon Druid with more STR, the guy is huge and he still has more DEX than STR
>Respec Minthara into a Cleric, again, females can't be warriors
>Respec Minsc into a Barbarian with frenzy and dump the fricking lorebreaking WIS and INT and pump his STR to the max
There, I fixed the BG 3 companions.
>make Gale into a woman
>make Astarion into a woman
>make Laezel into a man
There I fixed the BG 3 companions
How?
I would like astarion way more if he was a femme fatale. But the other two are fine as is.
How do you gender swap them though? Unless you mean shapeshifting
Mods, give it time
>laezel into a man
Could you please step away from the computer and commit the act of self termination?
male Laezel would fit better with the Orpheus storyline imo
>minsc
it's weird. when he's a hostile/npc entity, his stats are not only unique to him but pretty much accurate all around
then he turns into a dexmaxxing strengthlet with pumped caster stats as soon as you get ahold of him. makes no sense
encountering minsc in my playthrough was weird
>casually wandering around town entering random buildings
>enter the bank
>SUDDENLY bank robbery
>"it's the mythical STONE LORD!! OMGGG!!"
>given a quest to find the gold
>wander randomly in the sewer
>"It's the STONE LORD!!!!"
>defeat him
>knock him out because jaheira whined at me to
>chat with him after he's back to his senses
>he runs off to find boo and instantly dies to a ground effect since he was at 1 hp
>jaheira calls me a murderer and permanently leaves the party
quickload
>repeat fight but enter TB mode after the conversation to quickly heal him
>he finds boo etc.
>back in camp, he talks about all the epic battles we had while he was called the Stone Lord and how ashamed he was about it etc.
>literally only fought him once
>still have no idea who the "stone lord" is
Halsin into a moon Druid with more STR, the guy is huge and he still has more DEX than STR
Is this recommended for him? It makes sense, I already have him with thunder smite, and he wears medium armor, and has a shield. He's not a frontliner though. I never thought to have him as a moon druid, does he still have the ability to change into a bear?
Is anyone else doing a solo run?
I find it way more fun because it forces you to really think about your build.
Kill everything that doesn't bend to your will
how good is pure caster Warlock?
I want to make The Ancestor in this game. Great Old One, Pact of the Tome, take all the demonic deals, stuff my brain with worms.
>demands a duel with my invincible endgame male human fighter
>dies in the first turn without getting a hit in
I had no idea Monk would be so fun. I'm so fricking fast with Step of the Wind and the improved jump, holy shit.
Why the frick is it dead
The goblins kill it after a certain trigger
Obviously it depends on whether you're doing a good or bad guy playthrough. I ended up killing her since over 90% of any kind of interaction with any member of the Absolute will inventively break out into a fight when you're playing a lawful good Paladin.
lol wtf is the Tenacity weapon ability
>once per short rest, do 3 damage
a lot of those abilities are remarkably shit for being once per rest.
Is she only romance-able in evil playthrough?
nah, you can romance her in a good playthrough too
hows that even work
it seemed like she'd only join you if you killed the rapefugees
>it seemed like she'd only join you if you killed the rapefugees
yes, exactly
