I like Nier more but Xenoblade is good as well if you play the Wii version.

Don’t listen to this guy the Definitive Edition is a way more pleasant experience because of all the quality of life changes. The quests are super annoying in the original with its 3D arrow.

DE looks like absolute shite though, I'd just play the original.

The QoL changes make it way more tolerable, graphics aside.

I'm a modder who's working on a Xenoblade DE restoration patch, to give the game its Wii look.
It should take me 6 more months to finish it.

Really? Cause I wasn't aware that there was any way to put models or textures back into the game, considering that Monolithsoft uses a custom engine for the games. Are you researching how to do that, or have you already cracked something?

The faces aren't that important it's the entire package, look at OPs picture it's hideous. The Wii version just looks like a classic title in comparison.

I hope you're not bullshitting. Prove it.

patience, anons. I'll make a thread soon when I'll have enough materials ready.

Only reason to play the original is because it’s free through emulation. Even tho I agree that the original faces have something over the new ones in some aspects (The old ones show more emotion imo even tho I always hear people saying the new ones do), the game is just way more fun to play with all the changes added.

Future Connected doesn’t count in this either because it kinda sucks. Just an excuse to explore the bionis shoulder.

They look great. What’s up with homosexuals hating every single remake/remaster. I remember the 3ds Zelda threads.

Sure the character emotions are toned down a bit. But the original faces weren’t all that great. It’s a good trade off, and the artstyle is more consistent with the sequels now.

Nier for me was a much better experience back in the day.
Even when I played the remakes.
But I honestly don't enjoy Xenoblade too much. It has very little to offer in terms of exciting plot.
some of the music is very good, and the landscape can be nice, but its not very fun to explore even when it has that as a focus since the geometry feels pretty flat and stage design is pretty inconsiderate or straight forward.

If you want something cool and exciting with amazing music and experimental ideas you should play Nier. It has more content in terms of variaty.
If you want a very refinded take on a vanilla RPG with great music and so-so characters but cool designs. Play Xenoblade.
