Why would you wait and spend $60 for a port? Just emulate.

You aren't waiting, they literally released the games after announcing them. Also it's $30.

Physical in September. Always physical with Nintendo so I can share with my brother/nephew.

Unless there's some new content I'm not aware of, the Wii versions will be better due to the pointer controls.

Probably Wii, because there's a 99% chance the Switch version is just emulating the Wii version anyway.

    Switch version.
Not only will it look better but you won't have to deal with the botched waggle all of those new play control ports had.

The controls were much better, you clown.

Wii Version is very fun. The motion controls actually fits Pikmin 2 like a glove.

You can use motion control in the Switch version.

I think some people prefer the IR to the gyro, I know I do. Gyro is weird cause you always need to keep resetting it

switch version removes brand names from items
    it's soulless

Product placement is soulless to begin with.

somehow it wasn't in Pikmin 2 though. really added to that post-apocalyptic flair, i suppose.

I think another part of what makes pikmin 2's product placement stand out is the fact that they aren't looking directly at the camera and saying "Mm-mm! When I'm thirsty, nothing is quite as refreshing as an ice cold Coca-Cola Zero!" the items are just there, and olimar's entries aren't singing their praises either. they're everyday items being treated as such

    How about...

    (Wait for it...)

    The actual GameCube version?

Wii's pointer controls were intuitive and one of the best uses of the Wii's IR. Can be translated to mouse and keyboard pretty well. It also gives greater freedom and I believe range to throws. Also widescreen.

If you are not lazy. the real answer is emulate. You can have every qol fix nintendo added with gyro to emulate the motion.
If you don't want to emulate then go for switch. Switch ports are literally just upgrades in every way except for removing certain trademark branding in 2

the 3 pikmin games are so solid that all 3 of them can be different people's favorites and that's totally fine pikmin 2 is my favorite

has no one datamined the switch version of 1/2 yet? i want to know if they're actual ports or emulated.

this guy has done a little digging, but it looks like the tools they have now need to be changed to work with the new games, which leads me to believe it's not just being emulated https://twitter.com/PikHacker/status/1671676823841779718

The Switch version is natively recompiled for the Switch, not emulated. It incorporates all the QoL changes of the Wii version plus some more. Just played both deathless again, very enjoyable experience. Sadly they had to change the name-brand treasures in 2.

Switch version is cool. Frick that waggle machine.

There's no waggle on the Wii version. It's only stick and pointer, which can be 1-to-1 translated to keyboard and mouse on Dolphin.
