>this but remakes arent done to fix fricked up games with potential
I really really wish they were. but alas that is true. Games like DMC2, resident Evil zero and a few small steps from being decent games. just removing the 2-3 glaring flaws changes the games complexion completely.
i mostly forgot about the ship section, the swimming was definitely janky but i felt like there was enough room for error you could just stumble through it.
The first person underwater bits, Mundus' first phase (his second phase can also be a pain, but at least the controls are the same). I've never REALLY minded them because they're all brief, but it is a bit weird for there to be new mechanics introduced for late sections of the game that get dropped just as fast.
2 has nothing in it that's worth remaking, especially not the pointless barely canon story. >b-but it COULD be made good if they just changed every single detail about it!
moron.
Gameplay of 4 and 5 might contradict the intended atmosphere which came from 1. 1 being pulled off feels like a fricking miracle, a game with the action and mechanical depth of DMC 4 and 5 would have players too focused on the combat elements of the gameplay to be meaningfully affected by a darker, scarier atmosphere. DMC1 would be made better without the swimming section and maybe some texture, lighting, and model updates.
No. A remake of 1 would just be a weak 5 without Dante's full kit, Nero and V. Dante with Force Edge, Alastor, Ifrit, Sparda and maybe Yamato too. Wow, what variety. Even if they use the full move set of 5 and just dump Vergil's Yamato moves onto him too, its not very good. The levels were also quite small but worked due to the fixed camera, with a free camera levels will be bigger so a lot of the charm of the levels will be killed. Dialogues will be changed as there is really very little in 1 so they will inject a shitload more into a remake, possibly also butchering things. Those are just some issues I thought of just now but the biggest issue is that DMC would be stuck in remake purgatory if 1 ever gets remade. Just make 6 and go big with it. A remake of 1 is a huge step back and would have to lead to a remake of 2 which is a much larger undertaking.
The different swords could be given more unique movesets plus they could bring back some weapons from 3 for more variety. A modern version of Agni and Rudra or Nevan would be awesome.
I'm afraid that a remake will just take away from new entries. New ideas, new enemies, new stories, new weapons and mechanics. 1 is a fantastic game that I enjoy the more I play it but I think its Resident Evil roots benefits it. A remake would only take away from its base.
Whether or not you're afraid of a remake is entirely based on whether or not you think RE2make and the like are good remakes. So yes, I'm afraid of a remake.
I've barely played RE4 and only played the remake's demo so I can't really comment on that. But I do believe that RE2make is a bad remake, albeit a good game, and that RE3make is an awful remake and a mediocre game.
DMC1 is amazeballs because uhhhh........ ............................................................................. ...........uhhh... ............................................................................. ............................................................................... .................................................................. ............................................................................. ............................................................................... ............................ ...........wow look at this window.
Sure why not. I love 1 but it is quite rough and dated in some places, there's a lot of things in both the gameplay and story that could be polished and expanded on a lot.
I would only really just want a graphical update, and something to fix the audio mixing. Gameplay-wise it's fine, maybe let us change guns without going to the menu but I wouldn't want them to turn it into an Itsuno DMC game, its fine the way it is.
This, RE1make style would be perfect. Add some QOL stuff, and maybe a few bonuses, but keep the game about the same. DMC1 is such a unique game within the franchise and genre itself due to its circumstances, so it being turned into a DMC1 map pack for DMC5 would be kinda lame.
>Dante would be made gay and that's why he doesn't have children >Trish will be black and face scanned Debra Wilson >Nero will be have zoomer brocolli hair and be trans >Virgil will be literally hitler
DMC doesn't need a mission select. That's for casuals who don't play through the game. Not to mentions missions are like 5 minutes with the game being an hour and a half long when you really get down to it.
Yes but only if I directed it.
All I'd do is >tweak the camera angles a bit, mainly by taking full advantage of widescreen and higher resolutions >include an updated in-game manual based on the original PS2 one so new players have an idea about some of the more complex/obscure mechanics >let you play DMD from the get-go if you put in a button combo on the main menu >add a mission select so you don't have to keep seperate saves for when you JUST want to play mission 17 >more info on what unlockable moves do, including a video of them in action
That's it, I guess. Maybe make some visual effects more distinct. A selfish choice I'd wanna make is rework the yellow orb system but I wouldn't implement that. I'd rather we got a DMC2 remake on the scale of the REmakes.
The main reason for this remaster is you get to play as all 5 characters in any games, plus mix and match weapons from the games (except no guns on Vergil, and no Devil arms for Lady).
DMC1 gets more bosses. DMC2 and some of DMC3’s bosses get reworked. Example is Arkham who starts as Sparda, but loses control as you damage him.
DMC should implement seamless character swapping already. Let your voices be hurd. It's the GAMEPLAY that matters most. Round up all the character functions in one go. I don't get attached to silly sh*t like story and atmosphere or what Vergil's astrology sign is.
2 first but yes
this but remakes arent done to fix fricked up games with potential
That's why I'm against video game remakes. They never "re-make" games that needed to be re-made. They're cash grabs off already successful games.
>this but remakes arent done to fix fricked up games with potential
I really really wish they were. but alas that is true. Games like DMC2, resident Evil zero and a few small steps from being decent games. just removing the 2-3 glaring flaws changes the games complexion completely.
This. 1 is perfectly fine and even removing the "shit" sections would make it a weaker, weird experience.
2 is such shit from start to finish but has great visual and enemy concepts that it'd be easy to remake and improve on.
what are considered the shit sections? The waterways?
gryphon 2 wasnt fun either
i mostly forgot about the ship section, the swimming was definitely janky but i felt like there was enough room for error you could just stumble through it.
Mundus 1 is cool at first, but when you replay it on harder difficulties it becomes a chore.
The first person underwater bits, Mundus' first phase (his second phase can also be a pain, but at least the controls are the same). I've never REALLY minded them because they're all brief, but it is a bit weird for there to be new mechanics introduced for late sections of the game that get dropped just as fast.
Remakes exists to make good games shit, not shit games good.
No
have a nice day
2 has nothing in it that's worth remaking, especially not the pointless barely canon story.
>b-but it COULD be made good if they just changed every single detail about it!
moron.
remakes are gay as frick
No.
No and kys for even asking such a terrible question
if it did I'll play it, but I replayed it a couple years ago and still had a lot of fun, so i don't think it should be.
A DMC game with the gameplay of 4 or 5 and the atmosphere of 1 would be perfect.
Unacheivable I fear
DMC is too far away from it's horror roots, too much bing bing wahoo pizza man.
No, just make a Sparda prequel that has DMC1-esque vibes while building on DMC5's gameplay.
How would you make a Sparda-centric game work? Homie was a beast.
It would be thousands of years in the past when Sparda was first starting out.
No. A remake of 1 would just be a weak 5 without Dante's full kit, Nero and V. Dante with Force Edge, Alastor, Ifrit, Sparda and maybe Yamato too. Wow, what variety. If you're afraid of a remake then you just don't think the game is all that great to begin with.
What? I'm afraid a remake is going to ruin the greatness of it.
You don't have any faith that the game is good.
What?
This. The Kamiya DNA in it won't be in there
>Dante vs Vergil 3.0 Electric Bogaloo
>but this time Royalguarding on wheelchairs
YES PLEASE!!

RE4 was a good remake. Crowcat isn't always (or ever) right.
I've barely played RE4 and only played the remake's demo so I can't really comment on that. But I do believe that RE2make is a bad remake, albeit a good game, and that RE3make is an awful remake and a mediocre game.

Amazing. You scaled the picture to the same size as your brain.
leave that anon alone, i like his posts.
Sure why not. I love 1 but it is quite rough and dated in some places, there's a lot of things in both the gameplay and story that could be polished and expanded on a lot.
No, because a remake would just make Dante into wacky woohoo pizza man again.
DMC6 is gonna be wacky woohoo pizzaman except 70 years old
Grandpa Dante sounds like a fun time
It belong in the trash. don't post in this thread ever again.
why is capcom obsessed with making their MCs old?
They're only 45 at most in DMC5. Dante and Vergil have for sure one more game in them.
I would only really just want a graphical update, and something to fix the audio mixing. Gameplay-wise it's fine, maybe let us change guns without going to the menu but I wouldn't want them to turn it into an Itsuno DMC game, its fine the way it is.

Stay the frick away, but we all know capcom will remake all the games the moment they smell profit in the air.
Yep but with way more content and playable Trish
Add bloody palace and playable Nelo too
>playable Nelo
Sick
>Dante would be made gay and that's why he doesn't have children
>Trish will be black and face scanned Debra Wilson
>Nero will be have zoomer brocolli hair and be trans
>Virgil will be literally hitler

DMC2 remake is far too much work and it has the big 2 stink hanging over it anyway. The remakes of good games work better
Seeing 3gays freak out over a remake would be a treat. No one is really a honest dmc1gay.
>No one is really a honest dmc1gay
I am. Its not my favourite but it has an undeniable charm and feel that few if any other game can match.
>Its not my favourite
you're telling me what i already know. DMC fanbase is just itsuno secondaries. full stop
>No one is really a honest dmc1gay.
>le remake
>capcom remake post 2015
No!
It should be remade not for profit but solely for gameplay reasons, meaning total lack of inclusivity and hard as frick
No
Doesn't need it
A remake would also be modern DMC combat it would be a completely different game, DMC1 is a whole lot simpler than 3/4/5 you know
DMC trillogy remastered.

It should have no story and no Ads
I've reached a point where I genuinely cant tell if most of this thread is just shit bait or genuine moronic opinions.
Zoomers should be barred from games except Fortnite. Why do they always ask for pointless remakes that ruin the original?
