A video game grounded in a more realistic setting should use more realistic armor
A video game set in a more fantastical setting should use more fantastical armor

Has a game ever done fantasy armors for the game but the "end game" "best armor" etc are low fantasy realism armors? Cause I think that would be fun.

There's nothing wrong with fantasy armor as long as it doesn't look like dogshit, as in every MMO or Elder Scrolls game.

    yes
    but mostly realistic

That's the most moronic armor i've seen on the left, it hurts my tummy. What's with the candles?

I prefer a blend of man-made and whatever fantasy is around, like monster parts.

The stark contrast between male and female armor is always prevalent in monster hunter.

I picked a girl in MHW because I thought it would be sexy.
Instead I found it to be incredibly stupid and wished I picked a man instead. Why did they make the really cool armour pure coomer tier for women?

Mildly unrealistic is fine but the designs with huge pauldrons that restrict the wearer to a 30 degree field of vision just look stupid. That style was invented to enhance the visual profile of plastic miniatures and primitive blurry RTS units, it has no place in a game with modern graphics.

Kettle helm either spear or bill was my go to in War of the Roses, right on the OP. The simplest armour and weapon possible. It was just great.
