black flag was a pretty good open world theme park game that has been lapped and surpassed over and over and over and over and over and over and over again ever since it came out
It's going to be the exact game you expect it to be. It's a modern Ass Creed, don't act like you can't just imagine the by-the-numbers gameplay in your head.
well thats the thing, this whole game was pushed on being "back to the roots"
Im not OP but I also really wanna see if it truly is, even if its some moronic journo opinions you can usually distill them and get something out of them
yea nvm just looked at the stream linked, looks absolute dogshit
cancer inventory managment
cancer skill tree
cancer transmog
cancer stats on items
why are they like this
>well thats the thing, this whole game was pushed on being "back to the roots"
Did that actually happen any time devs advertised their new games as such
Like, one single fricking time
Sorry, should have phrased it differently, I meant if that actually ever ended up being the case instead of just some marketing speak to get more gullible morons to buy it
I mean sure you are kind of right there but the problem is multi-faceted and a degree is important imo
even with mirage they returned the ability to insta-kill with hidden blade so in a way it is a true return
the problem is everything else they skipped over to put their usual slop in (like I mentioned itemization)
anyway as someone who loved AC1/2 very much back in the day I was very interested in verifying their claims
There's plenty of gameplay footage out already. It's quite literally just Valhalla's gameplay still. It has nothing in common with the classic AC games.
Did they also have screen filters to try and ape old games? Did they have CG trailers that copied moves from old characters? Fricking moron

We already know it is not. Remember how Altaïr could teleport around with some magic Mark & Execute feature? Me neither. People that say this is a return to the roots are blind because they can only look at things at surface level. There's nothing root-like about the parkour system (https://youtu.be/E9TFr_IRUcI), or the side content, or the complete removal of the dystopian modern day and dichotomy between past and present, or anything else that's been a thing in AC since Origins, arguably Syndicate
>People that say this is a return to the roots
well I was just referring to what the devs said about it so I was curious how it compared to reality cuz you just know they are lying through their teeth
but imo the biggest thing is this moronic shit that all action games try to ape RPGs and specifically diablo with the item system, its so fricking aids
back in first game when you went to Grand Master and got an item you were excited cuz you got just that much more powerful
in the new games you have to either minmax or the stats on items are so braindead and auto-scaled to your level - it literally has any joy sucked out of it
Just like Eivor is Havi/Odin's Sage, Basim is Loki's. He is the game's final boss after which Eivor traps him in Precursor VR from where he sends the cryptic message from the beginning of the game that gets Layla and co. to investigate Eivor. End of the game, Layla is tricked into changing places with Basim, her body is fricked and his regenerates thanks to the Odyssey staff. Game ends with Basim as the new Modern Day protagonist. DLC ends with William Miles asking Eivor for a blood sample. Mirage will be said blood sample showing Basim becoming an Assassins 20 years before Valhalla and probably grappling with and being consumed by Loki's memories.
Those are protagonists from games from before AC went to shit so no, they're not secretly superheroes or anything. They're fully human, they just happened to have a higher concentration of Precursor DNA than most people which is how they managed to activate Apples without going crazy. Altaïr's lineage ends in Desmond's mom, while Ezio/Kenway's lineage ends with Desmond's dad. That's why Desmond himself was special, as the combination of these two ancient bloodlines. And even then you saw him, he was mostly a normal dude. Compare that with Kassandra being discount Kratos.

>Revelations outfit
Please stop raping the old good games for member berries
The games have always had outfits from older installments you fricking baby.

Thinking of buying it, looks great so far.
who even cares anymore?
you must reject racism to play this game
guess i wont be enjoying it
I unironically like arab culture. Too bad about their modern religion
No because it's not out on steam yet.
I didn't finish the viking one, can someone give me the cliff notes of basim and anything else noteworthy in the game?

So is it safe to assume that altair/ezio/Edward is a notable person? Like a Greek good who fricked a human? Were getting into nephilim territory

Miraculously, with Hitman.
>Miraculously, with Hitman.
I guess you aren't wrong here, I tend to forget that Absolution existed
You already know what their gonna say
