And this is why there'll never be a good pokeclone. Nobody has both the needed taste in monster design and the needed gameplay. You get one or the other, not both. Mostly neither.
Bear in mind the Pokemon playerbase is full of casuals who get filtered by the combat system the moment it actually gets challenging, these people love Palworld precisely because it's safe for them, there's no combat system, is just farming, something they can't fail at.
With luck, Palworld will rid Pokemon of the "I JUST LOVE GOING ON ADVENTURES WITH MY ADORABLE PIKACHU" part of the fanbase, aka the numales and the women.
It will have the opposite effect. Casuals that hate the rpg gameplay but love guns will flock to it while kids and women the love stuff like animal crossing and pikmin will gain a sense of security knowing that there is no longer any part of the community demanding that the franchsie be grittier and more difficult.

I honestly like the 2v2 comp format (doing double battle tower runs is one of the fun most things in the campaign imo) but my favorite turn based system is Trails followed by SMT.
