Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, Pokepark, and Conquest were all kino. I miss them dearly. Rescue Team DX was a step in the right direction but this era of mobile games and gachashit is miserable.

Now it does; in the 90s that wasn't the case. The only one that was really subpar was Mystic quest, but that was meant to be babby's first FF at the time to draw younger players in.

It isn't. The "main" Mystery Dungeon series (the Shiren games) didn't even have particulary complex party members until the third game. Plus being able to use 4 moves PLUS items adds a lot to the game's combat and makes it stand out more than the Shiren games. The correct thing to say is that this shit overshadowed all other Mystery Dungeon series.

Yoshi isn't really a spin-off. Final Fantasy has a lot of dogshit surrounding it as-well. Tactics is only as fondly remembered (to me) because of its mods. Same with vanilla Pokemon actually. Lots of these games don't truly hold up and we're truly spoiled by mods. Tingle's Rupeeland is just a boring VN.
