Even if they did use it instead of DP they would have had to switch back to the DS for Platinum since PBR doesn't have models for the rotom appliances, Giratina-O, and Skymin.

Giratina and Shaymin drop their transformation items when you transfer them over to PBR. Rotom will forget the special move it learns when it switches forms and retains the same stats as regular its regular form.

There was a build of the game used in a JP Worlds 2009 game that had Platinum Lucas who wasn't in any retail version of the game.
Something to note is around that time a JP exclusive patch for My Pokemon Ranch dropped which added compatibility for the Rotom formes, Giratina-O and Shaymin-S so for all we know there's some JP exclusive build of PBR sitting away on some dusty hard drive that may very well have the Platinum formes...or just Dawn and Lucas in their new outfits.
Why do all of the good battle facilities have to be stuck in earlier games that are 10x harder to train in
you don't really need perfect IVs, maybe just speed and offensive stat, evs really aren't bad if you have money for vitamins
for older games vitamins stop working when the stat goes over 100 EVs. you’re gonna have to grind anyways
152 evs is like 30 battles per stat, using pokeradar in gen 4 makes this a snap
also vs seeker for fully evolved mons is even better
Yeah, but there's no fastforward on cart. If you're playing on an emulator it's fine, but on cart those 30 battles will take 1 - 2 hours to get through

You don't always get the Pokemon that you're looking to hunt, and if you don't find the right one you've got to run away. Even turning off animations can only help so much.
i literally just mentioned pokeradar and even the first fricking google search would tell you to kill mons with a 100% or near 100% encounter rate

I have actually completed the Emerald Battle Frontier without cheating, so I am aware of this.
But if I transfer all of my Pokemon up and need to create a new team, even doing things like getting the correct nature on a Pokemon and have it not be complete trash in the IV department is difficult. Trying to train up a Magmar because I felt like I wanted to design a team around one, and I do not have a level 100 trained on in any game.
