>dude fights through a ship full of monsters to save his GF
>doesn't say a word
very cool and realistic
Just because you talk to yourself since you have noone to talk to doesn't mean everyone does.
Your lack of an inside voice is not a normal thing anon
Isaac does have people to talk to. He even shares some pretty dramatic moments with them. You also never swear outloud if you stub your toe or get startled?
Excellent bait.
You're being disingenuous and you know this.
Perfectly cooked
>NOOOO I CAN’T SELF INSERT MYSELF ANYMORE
Incels don’t deserve video games
He was not wacky nor did he really say any "quips"
I always found Isaac in DS2 to be a surprisingly likeable protagonist.
I'M LE CRAZY AND I KNOW MY GF IS DEAD BUT ILL STILL LISTEN TO WHATEVER THIS DEMONIC HEAD DEMON THAT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE HER SAYS
except Isaac is doing the complete opposite until he kills Strauss, Ellie loses her eye, and the marker starts a convergence event. He loses hope, doesn't know what the frick he's suppose to do, and this allows the marker to finally break through his mental barriers.
Frick you and frick your marker
I think he's complaining about things like
>Isaac, no, this is a really bad idea
>Well stick around. I'm full of bad ideas.
Which were literally used to contrast Isaac and Ellie from him being experienced through this hell situation, and her experience being fresh and new. I think he also just wants to whine about the big action set pieces, that were far better than turret sections.
This part and the fake credits at the end before Ellie breaks through the ceiling to rescue Isaac, and makes it zero gravity and he spins around and activates his helmet before blasting off towards the ship was pure fricking kino. I don't care if the tone of the game is more action and BADASS, Dead Space 2 was utter action kino of the highest order.
It really was a perfect sequel. Alien to Aliens kinda deal, except retaining part of the horror as well. Better balance than say Resident Evil 4. I still can't believe how well the first two games stand the test of time, the demake wasn't necessary at all.
>we were robbed of Isaac starting DS3 with his Advanced Suit
For shame
For all the odd things the Remake does, bringing back Gunner Wright and making Isaac feel more cohesive to his character in 2 was a very good decision.
off topic but the idea of someone talking to himself out loud in a survival horror situation is plain stupid
Maybe you're slow or perhaps moronic but Isaac is literally batshit insane.
>what?
What a brown cutie, too bad they ruined her in ds3
Dead Space 2 is a masterclass in what can happen when you give a silent protagonist a voice. All it takes is a great script and fantastic voice acting. I like that it made Schofield seethe even though Isaac being an actual character in 2 was far more compelling than being a silent errand boy in 1.
>Man goes insane and sees ghosts on the regular
>His personality changes from what it was
Wooooooooooooow
all of the changes were so needless.
and I like how issac looked in the original game.
they gave them their voice actor's faces, which is trash and ruins the already established faces. Also, they've been making Nicole uglier and older since dead space 2
OG Nicole is anime waifubait tier, but arguably intentional since it's an idealized representation of her.
left is a serial killer
right is helldiver material
>left is a serial killer
exactly the kind of guy who could survive against the necromorphs.
>protagonist gets worse when he's given a voice
Story as old as time
Jak with beard is peak.
He was mindraped by the marker and then tortured by the doctors on the sprawl.
I think him becoming more unhinged and schizo was allright charatcer development.
The most important part of the game was the gameplay and it evolved decently in 2.
It's 3 that dropped the ball in every single aspect and should be just forgotten.
>FRICK FRICK FRICKING DIE
the right man at the wrong place
its a killdozer situation
>read the original script for 3 before EA held Visceral hostage and forced coop slop
>would've been utter kino and we would've had one of the best vidya trilogies of all time
>EAs reward for Visceral following orders like a good dog was to be closed down
Frick EA where they breathe.
QRD on the original story?
iirc it was going to be revealed that humanity is the only life left in the galaxy because the brother moons consumed everything else over the milennia, we're inhabiting literal "dead space"
yes but then the doctors shows up does some timey frickery and fixes everything
It wouldn't have had the love triangle, Brethren moons, or coop. It would've been all about Isaac's mental state and how the Marker had completely broke his brain. So better than 3slop all around.
>"In a 2021 interview with franchise producer and co-writer Chuck Beaver, it was revealed that the original story for Dead Space 3 planned by him and Ben Wanat during development of Dead Space 2 would have been the third chapter of Isaac Clarke's psychological journey. Featuring Isaac as an unreliable narrator alongside a "dark" version of himself and emphasizing his dementia, the story would have eventually led to Isaac leading the Brethren Moons to Earth due to being a "herald of the Markers" for having DNA that was compatible with the Marker signal. Dead Space 4 would have been a final confrontation at Earth, with Isaac "facing his destiny" and fighting against the Moons. According to Beaver, many of the elements from this original concept were repurposed for the Awakened DLC, with the story of Awakened being much closer to what Dead Space 3 was envisioned to be at the time of Dead Space 2 than the base game's."
Shit taste
no the game is perfect do not call it anything less!!!
I like DS2 a lot but 1 will always be my favorite even though it has pacing issues. The atmosphere is just so much better, you truly feel isolated and alone in a hostile place where it feels like even the ship itself is trying to kill you. The sound design is absolutely perfect too
Give it to me straight. Is 3 worth picking up on a deep sale? I've literally never played it on the basis of me not accepting it as canon and retconning it from history itself.
Even with a friend it's nothing special, although the co-op missions can be kind of cool, probably worth 5 bucks or something, I would not recommend even bothering if playing alone
My normie moron shit taste friends haven't even played 1 or 2, so asking them to play 3 first would be irresponsible.
Well it's quite different from 1 and 2, less long-term thinking with how ammo and the weapon upgrade system works, I'd say it's like a shittier version of RE5
My friends haven't even played RE4.
it's fun with a friend but if you don't have one then no probably not
