I refute the missionary actually being a human being. I think it's a weird sort of creature that straddles the line between human and non-human. It's far more human-like than most otherworld manifestations, and also the otherworld can manifest normal-looking humans too, so in a way, it's not human enough. Also when Vincent says that line, it could have a variety of meanings. Vincent might see these bizarre creatures as (or they might appear to him as) more angelic creatures considering he is a priest of the religion. And let's not forget the game frames him as a wise ass who loves fricking with Heather mentally, so it really could have been a snarky joke to mess with her.

I know that It's probably a bait post I'm going to answer it anyway. Silent Hill is a normal tourist town with a lot of people living in it as mentioned in SH4. It's also a base of operation for a cult known as "The Order" that was created in the 20th century. The Order created many rituals through the decades, wanted to revive the God that would change the world into "Paradise", and created an alternative dimension known as the "Otherworld" that works on the territory of the town. The Otherworld can be entered only by people with traumatic experiences or cultists who know how to open the portals to it. The Otherworld changes its appearance and monsters living in it for every person who enters it and adjusts itself to the trauma and fears of that person. If (You) don't have any traumatic experiences then you will be in a normal version of the town and be able to see normal people living there. (You) won't see a person inside the Otherworld unless you are connected to that person in some way like Laura in SH2 and Harry in SH3

There are no monsters. The events of the entire franchise are born from the dying remnants of Harry's brain after he suffered a lethal car crash. The games have become progressively more shit due to compounding mental misfires as he creeps closer to death.

This is direct, 100% irrefutable evidence that other characters can see other character's versions of Silent Hill, and that there are indeed different versions of Silent Hill.
PS, none of the games are actually connected, lore wise. The only exception is 1 and 3, but they're still wildly different in their representations of the proverbial Hill of Silence.

Team Silent literally published the document books "Lost Memories: Silent Hill Chronicle" and "Another Crimson Tome" which show the timeline of events, the history of the town and The Order cult, and how Otherworld works. A lot of things were planned in advance. SH1 hinted that the Otherworld changes its appearance based on the traumatic experience of every individual person which was fully realized in SH2. SH2 mentioned Walter, disappearing holes, and sunken ship, all of which were crucial in SH4 and SHArcade. SH3 mentioned the House Orphanage and answered further questions about the Cult's history and Alessa. SH4 hinted at the fact that Pyramid Head was either another Version of Valitel or created by him seeing how a part of the Cult worshipped Valtiel as a God and wore red triangular helmets during ritual killings. Etc, etc.

And the original intention was that once you killed god Silent Hill became a normal town with no remaining powers, because the powers came only from Alessa and god (which was permanently killed).

I knew an autistic guy who gave a speech in college about how Silent Hill 3 is a masterpiece and the best game ever made. He even played some of the music from the game really loudly during the whole speech.
A lot of the horror and themes in sh3 is heavily tied to womanhood and fear of predatory men. A lot of gamers wont even try to engage with things like that
RE has always been more popular than SH and RE3 was the least popular of the original 3 games anyway, and SH3 is much more overt but also more subtle and "realistic" about this stuff, you don't need to overanalyze it, its all right there.
don't play the game on hard mode cause the final boss is just an ass endurance test.
SH2 had a lack of enemy variety but SH3 has several enemies that are all annoying to deal with.
also you don't go to silent hill until the later half of the game, and even then it's just reused from SH2

I like both 2 and 3, 2 had easier combat but that made me appreciate it more after playing 3, and 3 had a cooler atmosphere that I appreciated more after 2

Not sure if i just had a bad time adapting but the final boss was tough as balls. I only really won because i got incredibly good at dodging other enemies on Hard throught the game so i had a frick ton of healing items.

Bravo on them for making a final boss as annoying as they did with a moveset of summoning fire, slapping, slapping the air, and sometimes a headbutt.
I was playing on hard mode with limited ammo and health items though so my experience isn't the same as everyone's, but watching other people deal with on lower difficulties is just tanking every hit and shotgun or spamming handgun forever while dodging.
3 still has the most fun boss fights out of the trilogy. Bosses in 1 are wonky and the best strat for the final boss is to literally stand still, shoot and heal after each boss attack. You will never die against a boss in 2 unless Pyramid head kills you in 1 hit.
Do people really complain about Harry's death being "anticlimatic" when that's the literal point? He's an "every man", this isn't shonen shit where it's about power levels, he's just a guy like you or me. His death is meant to be cheap because it is, it was a surprise attack in the place that should be the safest from any threat and as unfitting for someone as respectable as him as possible.
Given his pose, Harry probably fell asleep watching television shortly before Missionary broke into his house and assassinated him. There really isnt much he could have done.

Jesus fricking christ. DtB season 2 was so fricking awful. The story felt like fanfiction written by someone who had no involvement with S1. Hei's entire character arc and development went to garbage with him becoming a sociopathic butthole out of nowhere. A lot of central characters got killed off literally for no reason. New characters were not developed at all. Ton of screentime was wasted on moronic filler tier clowns that didn't contribute to anything. Yin was transformed into mother fricking Izanami Goddess despite being a normal girl made into a doll. Misaki went from a likable and charming strong policewoman to an insufferably incompetent Becky tier with Triss' level of clingy teenage ex-girlfriend obsession with one guy her whole life. July was useless despite being apparently one of the central characters. Suou bearly grew throughout the plot despite being the protagonist, losing her old life and friends 3 episodes in with bearly any buildup, and the story litearly being about her becoming a contractor. The ending itself retroactively rewrote the entire canon and made the entire story a waste of time. Not to mention that they gave it a 13 episode run whereas S1 had 24.
That's what pisses me off the most about Gemini. I genuinely really like Suou and I think that the setup and concept of her being Matilda to Hei's Leon is fricking great. The problem lies in the execution. In order for this kind of plot to work they needed two characters who are going through a life crisis so both of them could build their bond more realistically and grow as people thanks to sharing their experiences. Hei was not suited for this role because he already went through all of that shit and come out as a better person at the end of it. That's why they undid his arc and restarted him in S2 which just ended up making fans really mad. It would've been good if the events leading to him losing his humanity were explored in the series proper instead of in a separate OVA released years later, and if his relationship with Suou actually evolved. Suou's affection towards him is fully one-sided and feels like an extremely gross effect of Stockholm syndrome seeing how she's forced to go along with him simply because of lack of options and her literally being like a pre-teen with no life experiences whatsoever. Suou's relationship with Hei doesn't evolve so Hei himself doesn't grow which leads to Suou not growing as well. A lot of it has to do with Writers not having the guts to actually let Suou take the right steps toward becoming the contractor by actually killing people, fighting with emotional and moral trauma related to it, and sharing that trauma with someone. The whole thing feels like someone really wanted to pull off Leon The Professional but either changed his mind during development or simply couldn't pull off the whole thing because higher-ups told him that his series would only have 13 episodes run instead of what they promised him originally

I've tried to play the game multiple times and always get stuck a lot and have to closely follow a guide. The farthest I got was pic related. I hear managing the candles for the apartment becomes difficult later in the game and the final boss is laughable because Walter teleports behind you.

There's not really room for much interpretation. He had his gun on Claudia and that naturally caused some monster or cult member to attack him. SH3 development was hectic but I feel like having the body of a scrapper or two there to display that Douglas had to fend them off and couldn't kill Claudia would have made it much more apparent.

I have the gecco Heather and while I can't suggest it to anyone with an actual brain it is quite nice. I just got the gecco Pyramid Head, they look nice next to each other. The Maria looks just okay but the James is surprisingly hideous, not sure of the sculptor whop did him is shit or what but it looks laughably bad next something like the Heather.
I like the part where the punching bag arms monster walks around on the broken glass. It sounds cool and happens even if it's nowhere near the pile of broken glass.
henry's apartment is fantastic. it's a shame the 2nd half drags down the game a lot. 3 also had issues in its design

I refute the missionary actually being a human being. I think it's a weird sort of creature that straddles the line between human and non-human. It's far more human-like than most otherworld manifestations, and also the otherworld can manifest normal-looking humans too, so in a way, it's not human enough. Also when Vincent says that line, it could have a variety of meanings. Vincent might see these bizarre creatures as (or they might appear to him as) more angelic creatures considering he is a priest of the religion. And let's not forget the game frames him as a wise ass who loves fricking with Heather mentally, so it really could have been a snarky joke to mess with her.

I know that It's probably a bait post I'm going to answer it anyway. Silent Hill is a normal tourist town with a lot of people living in it as mentioned in SH4. It's also a base of operation for a cult known as "The Order" that was created in the 20th century. The Order created many rituals through the decades, wanted to revive the God that would change the world into "Paradise", and created an alternative dimension known as the "Otherworld" that works on the territory of the town. The Otherworld can be entered only by people with traumatic experiences or cultists who know how to open the portals to it. The Otherworld changes its appearance and monsters living in it for every person who enters it and adjusts itself to the trauma and fears of that person. If (You) don't have any traumatic experiences then you will be in a normal version of the town and be able to see normal people living there. (You) won't see a person inside the Otherworld unless you are connected to that person in some way like Laura in SH2 and Harry in SH3

SH2 mentioned Walter, disappearing holes, and sunken ship, all of which were crucial in SH4 and SHArcade. SH3 mentioned the House Orphanage and answered further questions about the Cult's history and Alessa. SH4 hinted at the fact that Pyramid Head was either another Version of Valitel or created by him seeing how a part of the Cult worshipped Valtiel as a God and wore red triangular helmets during ritual killings. Etc, etc.

I was playing on hard mode with limited ammo and health items though so my experience isn't the same as everyone's, but watching other people deal with on lower difficulties is just tanking every hit and shotgun or spamming handgun forever while dodging.
3 still has the most fun boss fights out of the trilogy. Bosses in 1 are wonky and the best strat for the final boss is to literally stand still, shoot and heal after each boss attack. You will never die against a boss in 2 unless Pyramid head kills you in 1 hit.
Honestly i think 1 > 3 in bosses. I enjoyed the Missionary and fake Heather, but the other bosses just kinda sucked.

Jesus fricking christ. DtB season 2 was so fricking awful. The story felt like fanfiction written by someone who had no involvement with S1. Hei's entire character arc and development went to garbage with him becoming a sociopathic butthole out of nowhere. A lot of central characters got killed off literally for no reason. New characters were not developed at all. Ton of screentime was wasted on moronic filler tier clowns that didn't contribute to anything. Yin was transformed into mother fricking Izanami Goddess despite being a normal girl made into a doll. Misaki went from a likable and charming strong policewoman to an insufferably incompetent Becky tier with Triss' level of clingy teenage ex-girlfriend obsession with one guy her whole life. July was useless despite being apparently one of the central characters. Suou bearly grew throughout the plot despite being the protagonist, losing her old life and friends 3 episodes in with bearly any buildup, and the story litearly being about her becoming a contractor. The ending itself retroactively rewrote the entire canon and made the entire story a waste of time. Not to mention that they gave it a 13 episode run whereas S1 had 24.

That's what pisses me off the most about Gemini. I genuinely really like Suou and I think that the setup and concept of her being Matilda to Hei's Leon is fricking great. The problem lies in the execution. In order for this kind of plot to work they needed two characters who are going through a life crisis so both of them could build their bond more realistically and grow as people thanks to sharing their experiences. Hei was not suited for this role because he already went through all of that shit and come out as a better person at the end of it. That's why they undid his arc and restarted him in S2 which just ended up making fans really mad. It would've been good if the events leading to him losing his humanity were explored in the series proper instead of in a separate OVA released years later, and if his relationship with Suou actually evolved. Suou's affection towards him is fully one-sided and feels like an extremely gross effect of Stockholm syndrome seeing how she's forced to go along with him simply because of lack of options and her literally being like a pre-teen with no life experiences whatsoever. Suou's relationship with Hei doesn't evolve so Hei himself doesn't grow which leads to Suou not growing as well. A lot of it has to do with Writers not having the guts to actually let Suou take the right steps toward becoming the contractor by actually killing people, fighting with emotional and moral trauma related to it, and sharing that trauma with someone. The whole thing feels like someone really wanted to pull off Leon The Professional but either changed his mind during development or simply couldn't pull off the whole thing because higher-ups told him that his series would only have 13 episodes run instead of what they promised him originally

There's not really room for much interpretation. He had his gun on Claudia and that naturally caused some monster or cult member to attack him. SH3 development was hectic but I feel like having the body of a scrapper or two there to display that Douglas had to fend them off and couldn't kill Claudia would have made it much more apparent.
The novelization of SH3 explained that Claudia summoned a monster that looked like Douglas' son to fight him
