I never understood this take since from what I've played Fire Emblem games usually have some kind of supreme big bad at the end that takes the scope of the conflict beyond what is presented in the beginning, yet Azure Moon is the one route that just has the evil empire be the endgame boss while the true villains are just crippled before the endgame and left off screen
Picking Black Eagles is canon because you fight a Dragon at the end.

Three houses spread itself way too thin and it had a lot of potential, I wish I could see what they could have pulled off if they focused on only 1-2 routes instead.
Azure Moon wasn't finished either. Looking at the game files shows that Felix and Annette were originally supposed to leave at one point, presumably after Rodrigue dies.

Not to mention there's an entire plotline that builds where you can encourage Dimitri to go full berserker to kill analguard immediately and rescue dragon mommy at the expense of the kingdom, only for the option to do so never actually making it into the game
Every Super Robot Wars game gives you 50 chapters, a choice of one of two starting characters, multiple route splits, and two endings.

I know its a slippery slope but this franchise really needs chalice dungeons and ai generated maps that at least get hard before getting boring.
I feel like there wouldn't be much point, maybe as some sort of endgame thing, but I don't think you could do randomized content well with FE, it really benefits a lot from deliberate balance.
No Blue Lions lover has ever been able to defend the nonsensical Fleche stabbing scene. For that reason, I automatically dismiss the opinion of anyone who likes the story of that route.

Engage was more enjoyable instantly.
It was, and it still is better but I also found Engage had too much bloat to replay much.
I wish it was more streamlined.
I hate to use this phrase on Ganker but Engage feels like proof that gameplay loop matters as much if not more than the gameplay itself, as it had plenty good gameplay but bloated it out with monestary lite gameplay and kind of cringe story (though you can skip story quite easily, but that makes everything put into it a bit wasted on replay, especially since it's not super memorable other than a certain chapter)
3H had great character design too. Most of the characters are wearing school uniforms but their personality makes small tweaks to their outfits.
Engage has god awful character design.
I didn't buy or play engage simply because the character designs are overall atrocious, and not only that but it's filled with way more cookie cutter anime tropes. I skipped Awakening and Fates for the same reason. Make me interested in the characters or I wont buy or play it. Blazing Blade > Tree Houses > Echoes, of the games I've played recently. I played Shadow Dragon as a kid but have no desire to revisit that garbage heap. I barely remember Sacred Stones and probably never finished it.
