>not buying because EGS
The pirate store is down the hall ma'am, you'll find AW2 in stock.
RTX 3050 laptop
why did you buy a gaming laptop
I am a pajeet
Sorry to hear.
Nothing worse than being self aware but it's a start.
Sirs !
how much can I get one for? I'm thinking of buying it with my leftover osap money
You can get it at 500-600 dollarino
>he literally can't run any new games because it's so weak
Huh what game was he playing? I pretty much tried all AAA games and it runs pretty good
Cawadooty and Starfield off the top of my head.
>Call of duty
I get around 70-90 fps
>Starfield
It runs shitty even on desktop cards
dios mio
>Tfw top of the line gpu won't even run 4k at 144fps
How is this legal?
>1080p
bad game, not worth caring about. I know that is said about almost every game released this year with shit performance, but you can take "it's shit" to the bank with Starfield. That, I can guarantee.
yeah, I got through it on a 4090. Some cool things but like a fricking demo, the shine wears off very quickly.
>Shitfield
Even on Desktop RTX 3050 you won't even get stable 30+fps on 1080p high settings
That game is just shit
>You can get it at 500-600 dollarino
Damn fr? only $500 to play Alan Wake 2 and future graphics pushing games doesn't sound too bad...
I have a mate that bought one and he literally can't run any new games because it's so weak so he gets everything on his xbox anyway
RTX3080.
Good purchase for my i9-990k and an LG C1 TV.
Hope there's a FOV option in the game, from the trailers the camera is way up the characters ass
why do they do this
Muh cinematic experience
>Need to upgrade
Frick but my GTX 1080 still able to play games at Medium High settings at 1440p........
no it isn't
Lol no. Even the 3070 struggle to run at 60/1440p internal on modern games. Even 1080p isnt doable in some.
?? I play RE4 Remake at 1440p at medium high settings on 60fps most of the time. Maybe you accidentally turned on Ray tracing or something
Re4 isnt a modern game by any mean. Doesnt even have real shadows.
? I get 100+ fps. Check your processor
I said modern games. Idc about your fps in asshomosexual. I also said internal. Not dlss bs.
My 560ti is still good enough to max all modern games in 1440p
8800 GTX
Alan Wake 2 bros, what do we think the Night Springs and Lake House DLC means? I'm thinking that it means AW2 will ultimately end at the LakeHouse, I can't see any other reason to bring up it's relevance again. What I'm not sure about, is what Night Springs means? As well as the fact that apparently they have plans for Alan Wake 3? What the frick could that mean? I was sure the story would end at 2. But if I'm being honest, I always felt like this was the type of series that could span on for much longer, because of the whole implication with Zane. It suggests that this has been going on for much longer, so what if, just like before Alan was Zane, before Zane was...someone else?
I don't know. I've just become obsessed with this series lately and watched a bunch of YouTube analysis' because I don't have time to play the first game right now. God, I just hope AW2 can run decently on lower end devices (particularly the steam deck) because it would be so unfortunate if the only game i care about all year...was unplayable.
Sam give it up, no ones buying your shit game homosexual
I am. Remedy is one of the only good devs left
Well Night Springs was gonna be plot relevant in the original AW2, you can still see the gameplay video where an alien episode ends up becoming real and alan gets abducted. Idk wtf the lake house is supposed to be, but i'm sure the story is not gonna be what i expect.
iirc the footage of alan escaping the dark place and meeting saga is actually just the end of an episode, so it's far from the ending. There's also the fact that there's a third book even though the story of the game is supposedly about departure, the second one, and zane might have tricked alan or collaborated with scratch. With the dark presence still hunting alan, i don't really know what to make of the plot right now.
>i don't really know what to make of the plot right now.
goddamn, this is the most exciting fact.
>iirc the footage of alan escaping the dark place and meeting saga is actually just the end of an episode
oh really? where did you see that? I wonder how Saga's Case Board and Alan's Plot board is going to interact when they meet. If it even will at all. Regardless putting the story together actively with all these mechanics is going to be so kino.
>Well Night Springs was gonna be plot relevant in the original AW2, you can still see the gameplay video where an alien episode ends up becoming real and alan gets abducted.
Can you catch me up on this? I think remember somebody mentioning something about this, wasn't this supposed to be a story involving...uh was it rose or the cop lady? can't remember.
>There's also the fact that there's a third book even though the story of the game is supposedly about departure, the second one, and zane might have tricked alan or collaborated with scratch.
OHHH so this is why people think there will be an Alan Wake 3? There's a 3rd book? Damn. So what are our guessed for the 3rd book's name?
Departure. Return. Settle Down? lmao
That's all there is of the 2010 prototype https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQRUx-w6t4s it's even showcasing the mechanic of rewriting the world in real time which they put in the new game.
As for the footage i talked about it's just a few seconds long, but i don't remember which video from so you're gonna have too look. Though i think it's from one of the recent ' making of ' videos that remedy uploads.
damn, that was a really good video. the performance obviously looked rocky (ironically) but things like the enemies interacting with the environment more lively are things i hope made it into AW2. So far the combat looks almost a bit TOO slow and...how do I put this...humble? Like not remotely bombastic or tense. Maybe that'll turn out to be a good thing if they nail resource management enough.
But about writing fiction into reality actively as a mechanic...it looks interesting but feels...too much you get me? I think I like the simplicity and directness of the plot board a lot more. I know Alan can write fiction into reality but something about how it's shown in this video feels off. Especially with the introduction of the UFO.
I DID kinda like the touch about how the OBVIOUSLY scripted sequences were essentially explained as Mr.Scratch fricking with Alan, nice sort of meta explanation in an already meta game.
I look forward. I just pray that I'll be able to run the game lmao
>So far the combat looks almost a bit TOO slow and...how do I put this...humble?
To me it looks quintessentially shit combat made for gamepads where the enemies have to stand still for the player to awkwardly move their reticule on top of them and click shoot
If I want good combat its gonna be fps made with mkb in mind
>If I want good combat its gonna be fps made with mkb in mind
yeahhhh...no.
Resident Evil 4 to this day is unironically the greatest shooter I have and probably will ever play, and it worked almost so perfectly on controller for 90% of its Lifespan that I'm still baffled to this day. It sounds crazy to say, but there's just a unique sense of tension that TPS can add to the experience when you're aiming with a controller, it's almost like simulating the experience of somebody who's a bit nervous with their gun and having trouble steadying themselves.
I'm not even going to try and justify it to FPS fans because they're so entitled and priveleged and don't realize how ridiculously bloated and appealed to that genre is. But Re4 had a more memorable impact on me, and more fun shooting than ANY FPS I've ever played. I'd also say FPS games tend to feel easier in general too, and less like you're losing because you played wrong, and more like because they have to find a way to "naturally" frick with your aim to make it remotely engaging.
Only problem I'd say I had with RE4 is that it started to feel a bit repetitive after a while, but that could be subjective.
>where the enemies have to stand still for the player to awkwardly move their reticule on top of them and click shoot
I'm admittedly a bit worried about this. The RE4 solution to this was to basically either put you in tight spaces, or spam enemies at you that deman you use your entire resources. I'm thinking back to that sequence with the two chainsaw ladies and why it was such a fun tense interaction and...it's almost certainly having to deal with a multitude of enemies at the same time while positioning your slow ass self appropriately.
But we can only wait and see what they do to address this. If they make resource management tight enough, it might make every enemy encounter feel tense enough regardless of how threatening they actually are. If you're too small, everything seems big.
>If they make resource management tight enough, it might make every enemy encounter feel tense enough regardless of how threatening they actually are
modern games wont do similar resource scarcity as old games or its only going to be for the hardest difficulty, as its unthinkable a player cant complete a section with what they got.
Thats likely Mr. Scratch that Saga finds. i assume most of Saga gameplay will be in bright falls and Alan's will be in the dark place - if they're meeting up that early its Mr. scratch
night springs dlc might be like American Nightmare, where Alan created a self contained episode to do battle with dark presence
lake House is guaranteed to be a Control 2 setup DLC like AWE was for Wake 2. Probably will end with Saga joining FBC
>Probably will end with Saga joining FBC
that would be neat
No one gives a frick about a game where you're forced to play as a Black person for half the game.
But enough about Spiderman 2.
She's cute tho. Plus it's not nice to call other people names.
its a bit tiring that people complain about Black folk when they look fricking hideous
Or when they do forced diversity ala hollywood
But then it becomes this template complaint when its a character who exist in contemporary usa and the actor is fine. Shes just fine in the creators want people to find the game appealing all around kinda way.
Why do some people call her sheboon when shes lithe and has mixed race facial features with no debra wilson dna in her?
>Why do some people call her sheboon when shes lithe and has mixed race facial features with no debra wilson dna in her?
Because they're irrationally racist and see brown skin and coiled hair and react moronicly? I don't even get the implication that some Debra Wilson looking black person is even inherently bad, seems shitty and unfair since she obviously doesn't get to pick her face. Like would people say the same about that black dude that did Mace Windu? Some people are just brought in to fit a certain aesthetic, not just for beauty. Just seems like a ridiculously shallow way to view the world, but then again, I'm trying to be serious and genuine on Ganker...
Well you know how theres people who belong on the radio or behind the camera and those who belong in front.
Debra wilsons face belongs in the mines
RTX 3080 mobile, so basically a 3070 desktop but with a very relevant 16Gb VRAM
However, don't care about AW2 since it's EGS
Where are the AMD cards bastard b***h?
I have no idea AMD cards is still relevant so i just post what i know
4070 bro here
i wanna buy it on pc but i dont wanna support epic, so ill either pirate it or buy the PS5 version
same GPU
same idea
>alan woke 2
imagine caring
this is a video game board you have to care about video games
1660 ti, no point in upgrading right now because all hardware is shit unless you go full 4090. Bought a PS5 instead, will play AAA slop there.
it's not often I see someone with a functioning brain here on Ganker
good for you anon
Im not solely use my PC for gaming alone
I upgraded to a 3080 from a 1070 and it's already showing its limits. Ill say that I play in 1080p/144fps too. Im sorry for anyone who play in 4k with that.
I did the same and got a PS5 a few months ago to go with my 4k oled. Some games I play on pc, some on ps5. Depends on optimization and modding potential really. Or of visuals are the main selling point, since that tv is really Nice.
Glad I'm not the only one with a PS5+ PC combo
even neets could buy a series S to play their games
its not some new concept that peeps with old pc's ignore latest and gratest AAA games
fricking intel iris xe graphics. i might be able to put a 1650 in my pc someday but that's apparently obsolete now. might as well get a console.
Yes, you're going to buy a dead card. I would never suggest it but at this point buy a console or better buy the current budget cards.
>intel iris xe
I'm sorry...
You could gamble on the Intel Arc a770. They're cheap, powerful, but new so who knows how it'll turn out?
$290. $260 right now if you buy it on Newegg, they're having some 10% promo code thing going on for a couple days. And if you have an AMEX card, they have a Newegg 2% cashback going, too, so that'd bring it down to $255 which...isn't much, but it'll cover some of the tax?
RTX 4060
Might get 30 fps at 1080 on Wake 2 if I'm lucky
It doesn't? Wtf
I was debating buying it on the S since it's cheaper but now I'm just passing it entirely
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/17d8jfe/alan_wake_2_does_not_support_rdna1_5000_series/
>inb4
even the devs warn you about getting this on S
Source
>GTX 10 series that high
Lol on top of Epic Games only PC sales will be absolutely terrible and they will blame us for lack of sales
I have a 4070 TI zotac but im still getting it on my SeX instead because i have the rest of the Alan Wake/Control achievements there as well.
>AAA game from a studio that tries to push the graphical boundaries doesn't run on a 4 year old budget card
Stop the fricking presses. 5700xr had MSRP of 399$
That gpu was ruled out because of lack of mesh shader support, not the graphics power
Yeah and even if it had mesh shaders it wouldn't run the fricking thing. That's why they decided not to bother
Go to the steam hardware survey and see what resolution most people are playing at
60% are playing on 1080p monitor
Remedy is going to lose a lot in pc sales . I doubt the epic exclusivity is going to help them
Its entirely misleading. 1440p has been the go to res for half a decade now
The 3rd world and laptop csgo players were never the market force that drives single player game sales on pc.
I don't see how it's misleading especially if you look at the most common gpus. Most of which fall into 1080p 60 fps catagory
yeah and they're poorgays who got a pc to pirate all their games to begin with, if they spend money its for LoL skins or some shit while a 60€ investment to a game is ludicrous
their existence is essentially irrelevant to most publishers
I feel like not enough people realize how little poorgays matter. If they did, companies like Apple would never be able to exist so dominantly. Lots of post hoc rationalization in this thread
Remedy already got their money from Epic.
Don't worry you can all upgrade to a rtx 5080 for two grand soon. It will only require 1200watts and melt if you plug it in wrong.
PC haha what a joke the last few years
poor issue
skill issue
not my problem.
5000 series should come out in q1 2025 on tsmc 3nm and be super performant while being power efficient
Or you could just sell your 5700 for 100 bucks and buy a 6700xt for 200 bucks
Literal 3rd world tier b***hing, pc gaming is cheapest in last 10 years
4080
But i only play dark engine games on it
I refuse to buy GPU below 4080 man i dont want to cucked out on -70 numbers because i have 1080..... But 4080 is so moronly expensive right now
4070 is a 12gb 3080 that uses half the power suck it up, I just got one for $440 brand new at best buy. (open box but never actually opened lmao)
Yeah but the 4o"""70""" Number makes it feel like a downgrade its either 4080 or above for me
"makes it feel" b***h you are using the equivalent of a 6600, a card you can easily get for $200 or less. You are living the downgrade now.
Ill wait for 4080 price drop. Im pretty sure they will drop it on Christmas
I hope it does drop to the correct pricing of around $900 for you but it sure seems like they're just gonna cuck it with a $1200 Super, at least that will be much closer to 4090. I wouldn't get too comfortable with this GPU pricing lull that we're in. Watch closely for deals and be ready to buy. I can't imagine there are more than 10 people in America who share my achievement of a sub $450 4070, but the deals certainly exist (got the 4070 for my buddy, I have a 4090 of course)
YOU KNOW THAT I'M A PSYCHO
oh no somebody tell him she has the gun...before it's too late
Remedy straight up admitting the PC version will be a trainwreck. I can't wait for the negative reviews oh wait lol
>puta
jeje
Control looked great even on low with an old GPU so i was optimistic... But oh boy the red flags from the devs this past month
Agree. Control scale well both in perf and visuals. Then control was made with pc in mind first. Alan Wake 2 is made with console in mind first. Of course the results arent going to be similar.
what hes saying is consoles are baseline and the games designed to run well on them + it scales to high end gpus
At a certain point are smug PC dipshits going to admit they fricked up? Paying 10 times the cost of a console for worse performance, truly pathetic.
Oh no... I won't be able to play one single game that needs high specs to show off the pores on the skin of a niggress. Whatever shall I do?
>Geforce RTX 4080 for 4K 60FPS
It's not really 4K, is it? The requirements said it's DLSS Performance, which is 1080p upscaled to 4k, what a c**t.
I mean 4080 is a 1440p gpu, no one would use it for 4k
According to Alan Wake 2 requirements basically every card is a 540p card.
only if you crank the setting up or use rays
like if you use ps5 equivalent settings on a 3070 you'll have good time doing 1440p balanced
1080p is going to be the standard for the next 20 years because everything is an unoptimized mess.
SHEBOON: THE GAME
>no physical
They're not getting my money anyway.
>GTX 1080 saves me from playing woke garbage
Damn it truly is the GOAT.
I hope I can play it at 30fps with DLSS on RT off.
>3080
good luck getting past the main menu.
you'll have to run it at internal res of 540p upscaled to 1080p but im sure its going to be a great experience
Imagine the amount of people who play aw remastered to prepare for aw2 and they find out the 2021 release wasnt made to work properly on amd cpus and theres visual glitches up the ass
its so weird a company would let this pass, like its bad pr for the new game too
>Imagine the amount of people who play aw remastered
Literally no one played AW Remastered
It flopped so hard Remedy still haven't got money from it.
>It flopped so hard Remedy still haven't got money from it.
That's gotta be so depressing as a creator, no idea how they pushed through to get Alan Wake 2 made. Guess it must TRULY be a passion project that they really wanted to make no matter what
remedy does these partnerships with other companies and an established IP is always better than a new one
Epic prob just liked the pitch for aw2 and the potential to polish aw1s systems to work better
>aw remastered
Wait when did it release?
Can't wait to upgrade my cpu to something new, once something worthy releases!
Goyslop begone.
it's over you can't run cities skylines
city what???
Alan Woke
No thanks
>there are multiple arc owners itt
Why'd you do it, vros?
hey at least they have better upscaling than fsr
I was about to laugh about that being true for all four games that support it, but it's actually in like 70 games. I hope Intel is able to make a serious run at the market within the next few generations.
So story wise, Alan Wake is a reality bender that doesn't realize he's one?
No, you fricking moron.
lol, exactly my thought in response to this, thanks for saying it for me
The Dark Place holds the power, Alan is basically just used by it as he connects to different Objects of Power like the typewriter to finish the story that the Dark Place deems desirable. Basically, he's the helpless hero in his own story.
Appreciate it thanks
No problem, technically Control kinda sorta changed the direction of AW1 by making Objects of Power a focal point so I get missing that.
>tfw GTX 970
Where in the FRICK is the 16GB RTX 4070 super
My bet is that people are still going to finish the game with their 1080's because system requirements are all bullshit designed to sell hardware and anyone who believes in them is completely moronic
No this time Alan Wake 2 only support Mesh Shaders meaning GPU GTX 10 series and older cant play it.
This is like Pixel Shader 5 requirement all over again
https://microsoft.github.io/DirectX-Specs/d3d/MeshShader.html
basically its more performant
I would be surprised if theres shader stutter in aw2
What do you mean ? Old GPU is simply cant run it
Its generally easier to optimize games if you cut support for legacy hardware and software solutions
So you're telling me the 1650 can run it? Because that shit supports mesh shaders
Yes
at 540p/30 probably, but yeah
Even CS2 can ran on fricking Potatoes why the frick Devs increase their min specs to moronic levels ?????????
dude you can just wait until 2025, buy a 5090 and enjoy path traced aw2 at >60hz at 1440p
Quantum Break was a mess on PC that you had to bruteforce with future hardware to play. Same goes for Control. Watch Remedy frick up the Max Payne remakes as well with their unplayably bad ports.
its kinda incredible how people of 2010's thought this foggy gray mess looked good
the entire game looks so bad, I mean its fine just nothing is actually pleasing
think ima get an alan wake haircut
Vega isn't equivalent to rtx 2000 thanks to no mesh shaders/rt/variable rate shading sadly, it won't run AW2 either.
What the FRICK is wrong with these devs? And more importantly what the FRICK is wrong with Nvidia thinking that upscaling is the standard now for new games?
idk what would make the reqs so high beyond path tracing but remedy did some crazy shit with quantum break and control so i don't imagine it's all for nothing
geometric detail, high res textures, particles, volumetric fog, draw distance and shading of it all
its about targeting modern console baseline and doing the maps with that in mind and not cutting corners on all those little things to make it work on a ps4
Do people still care about Alan Woke?
Its a little too late to come back with a new game for it now.
What the frick is it with this game? The first was kinda bland and devolved into running from point A to B and not get spooked on the way.
Seriously. How is this even a thing? It just fricking blows my mind how the majors are able to leverage the media into peddling absolute fricking shit. Oh and you get to jog to point B as a stronk black wimmin now.
Frick off.
at this point we're all just helping these companies to develop their AI (for free). It's so obvious that NVIDIA hates video games with a passion and only ever got into them because that was were the money was.
I tried it for 10 hours with a 4080 and it runs at 144fps at 1440p with frame gen which makes it look pretty good
The game itself is actually dogshit and ruined the one good thing Bethesda games had going for it by making the world as boring as possible and no way to seamlessly explore it.
Starfield feels like instead of looking what the standards of AAA gaming was in 2015 and aiming to surpass it they went with trying to surpass skyrim and failing in the process
>Alan Wake II
>you play as some black woman nobody cares about for most of the game
this is just Metal Gear Solid all over again but without the Kojima hijinks
