    >Three Sacred Beasts of Legends
Hmmph, almost as if they were intentionally made to be ambiguous carnivoran-based monsters instead of just single animals , good thing the pokemon fanbase was smart enough to realized that instead of spending over two decades trying to reduce them to "cats" or "dogs" or something fricking stupid like that

what makes the sinnoh trio not dragon pokemon of legend

      Anonymous

Not part of a legend. They are just ultra powerful beings made by god.

What is the legend associated with Dialga/Palkia?

            Anonymous

The entire Hisui/Sinnoh mythos, dumb Black person monkey

Probably the fact their dragon type is "coincidental" and has no real depth or significance when it comes to them. Unova on the other hand is notorious for their focus on dragons, and their legendary trio is literally the split of a certain, unique pokemon only known as "the original dragon"

    Poor Investor

Most of these are fine but a few are kinda shit ngl
And not for autism reasons. "Pokemon of Myth" for example is just generic as hell. Maybe the direct translation loses some subtlety, idk.

I don't think so? 神話 can be translated to fairy tale too, but that's doesn't convey it well. It uses 話 for tale, talk, story, etc, and 神 for god, deity, divine, etc, but "the pokemon of the mythology" already tells you we are talking about gods so...

It's a wordplay with infinity, dreams and mirages but when localizations have to settle for one they always go for the one that indicates time

Why is Ho-oh and Lugia missing?

Because they don't have an official name

Same reason others are missing too. No official name for the group

They are called eternity because i will spend eternity mating pressing Latias

You could ask the same question for the localized name, they are called "eon" pokemon as in an absurdly long, incommensurable amount of time, but they really make a play with fantasy and dreams (both pronounced むげん mugen), and given their powers to see what they couldn't normally see and to turn themselves into mirages, as well as their eerie island, it's even weirder they aren't translated simply as "dream pokemon".
But hey, every dream is another world in the infinite multiverse I guess.

        Amazing. Good
Why are Latios and Latias called eternity?
I loved the Kalos trio's name

It's complicated because むげん mugen could mean
        >夢幻 dream, fantasy, vision
        >無現 eternity, infinity, everlasting
        >無限 limitless, boundless, endless
And I don't find samples of mugen being used in kanji in the series. The only instance I can find is this Miku's song
        >遠い夢じゃない 幻でもない It's not a distant dream nor a mirage
        >ミストボール 輝く The Mist Ball shines in radiance
        >ぼくの歌と きみの声で With my song and your voice
        >こころのしずく満たしていく Filling up the Soul Dew
        >無限の空 めがけてラスターパージ Luster Purge aimed towards the endless skies
        >あの日の きみに贈る To you on that day
        >むげんのチケット Eon Ticket
While the lyrics don't forget to reference the fantasy nature of the duo (夢), mugen (無限) is used in the "devoid of restrictions" sense here. Still, it's tecnically just part of the lyrics and when Miku signs the name of the pokemon's category (via the ticket's name) she still says mugen as むげん

        tl;dr
It's complicated, but it seems like it's mugen as in infinite, but with heavy fantastic connotations

"Dear Comrades" is actually great. The name still applies regardless of where you are in the Kitikami story. It is just who they are a comrade of that changes.

I guess Pokemon of Myth fits better since Giratina didn't create anything but just was a little shit, got banished and now rules over antimatter.
