Americans are always obsessed with profit.
Aslong as they don't go minus and can pay the workers and themselves it's fine. Going by rumors they even made 40m+ in profits so far. It's really funny even though 90% are shit posting, the profit obsession is the reason we rarely get good games these days.
It’s more like 7-8 percent. Older games have had better attach rates https://www.escapistmagazine.com/final-fantasy-xiii-sells-1-5m-gets-35-attach-rate/
>35% attach rate in Japan >compared to 8% globally
From sources I can find, FFXIII Sold 5.5 million globally by May 2010. It launched on both PS3 and 360, there were about 33 million PS3s sold when it released in December 2009 and for 360s, I can find that Microsoft announced passing 30 million sales in May 2009.
So you're comparing 5.5M out of a 60M install base compared to 3M out of a 40M install base. So yeah, they're actually in the same ballpark by that metric.
Rebirth is literally releasing in 6/7 months so I'm not sure why people are acting like FF is dead. 16 isn't even an actual Final Fantasy game anyway so really, it doesnt matter how shit it does/is.
They won't go anywhere, will just keep trying things that nobody want and each sequel will sell less.
Even if they want to make something like FFX they probably don't even can because people who made that probably don't even work there anymore.
Unless the figure comes out I doubt it. If XVI's intention was to restore faith in the mainline games, why the frick did they not release it on ps4 and PC? Frick graphics. And they also excluded yoshi's cult (Only nips use playstation for xiv) by not having it on PC
That's impossible to know unless the actual amount Sony paid comes out with the MS Activision acquisition shit. It definitely would've been received better if it weren't some point of contention for console wars though. SE might also have underestimated how much it would've actually sold on PC since a lot of people who would be fans of YoshiP in particular are only on PC with XIV being a PC genre.
probably just improve upon the new system. more involved gear, sidequests, exploration, actual dungeons, new abilities, etc. what won't happened is it becoming turned based again.
Dirge of Leviathan: Final Fantasy XVI. >Game retcons whether Clive live or dies to him being alive for reals >His useless left arm is now a metal arm which looks like Vincent's gauntlets >Drake's eye reappears because we need an excuse for Clive to be at the northern continent >The primary antagonist is an revived Anabella and her remnants of royal bloodline fanatic because I want Clive to personally put her mother down himself >Clive also knocks up Jill because why not.
Chocobo GP 2
3 million for a PS5 exclusive is not a bomb
>For a
It’s a bomb

Where?
>40m+ in profits
What the frick are you talking about?
3 million on a 40 million selling platform is abysmal for a series like FF. Why the frick do you keep spouting this cope?
A game having nearly a 10% attachment rate is actually really good. The best selling PS1 and PS2 games were in that range.

Yoshida gets fired
The king returns to set things back on their proper course.
Vana'diel is the single greatest world in video game history.
final fantasy 17
Is it more action, more RPG? More western or more eastern?
yeah
They won't go anywhere, will just keep trying things that nobody want and each sequel will sell less.
Even if they want to make something like FFX they probably don't even can because people who made that probably don't even work there anymore.
what specifically could they have done to increase sales?
Release it on PC where Yoshida's primary audience is
in good time. I'm guessing whatever Sony paid them is more than they could have made by releasing on PC.
maybe I should rephase my question. what could they have done which would have increased profit? Releasing to PC pirates probably isn't it
>what could they have done which would have increased profit?
More sales by releasing on PC.
not him, but releasing the PC version actually would've helped in the Japanese market since the Steam Deck is already released over there

Multiplat
might have increased raw sales numbers but would it have made it more profitable? I'm guessing no
>might have increased raw sales numbers but would it have made it more profitable?
Yes

Yoshi P will be fired, XVII churned out fast as a turn-based game by Asano and co. Or they will do something moronic instead
>where does the series go from here?
FF7 MMO
There is one one direction it can go since it can’t get any lower… I hope. They need to excise the cancer and all MMO troon influence.
Back to me.
Can you post Jill ass crack from the game. thank you
I don't give a shit about sales, but the game is still pretty ass though.
