Realistically you pull a SA2 when you want to close up shop, you can't get higher stakes than that without it feeling tacked on
SA1 absolutely mogs this.
Not really. The speed stages arguably allow for more freedom in movement and maybe you prefere them over the sa2 ones but the knuckles stages are far inferior, tails story is short and easy, gamma is admittedly really cool but his levels are easy and short and the shooting gameplay became way more refined in sa2. Amy is cool but not too interesting and big sucks.

Not necessary, in fact I should have chosen MM2 game boy, thats how bad sonic is by comparison.
A game series that its all show and no substance and has horrible boring level design splattered all over every single game but low IQ people like those 10 seconds per stage when the game pilots sonic for you at fast speed unless you play SAdvance2 which does it all the time but who plays SAdvance2

You play a game that has the lowest skill floor imaginable, that takes away player control, that has terrible minigames to collect emeralds, that is full of gimmicks that waste time, specially in sonic 3, and that at high levels its just "memorize the stage, but you memorize platforms and enemies that arent in the screen right now", Ive run sonic games so I know this shit.
But Im dumb.
It's a bad game but it has a lot of soul.
