I am not a fan of Reload it tries to mimic the visual style of 5 despite the themes not fitting the direction of 3's narrative but alteast it has more going for it despite being the same basegame with an slight overhaul to characters, keeping the much needed Party control and newer personas than BDSP, because this "remake" still is and always will be just an upscaled port. And judging from the other persona releases on the switch, this one will also have atleast a higher and more consistent framerate.
Both suffer from the same case of if you played any of the previous iterations then there is no real need to get the newer ones.
That's because one is from a series beloved by most people under the age of 40, the other is from a niche weeb spin-off of a more niche JRPG. So more people are going to accept the remake from the beloved series, while the other just has its weeb obsessives to go to bat for it and THEY'RE too invested in crying it's not like the original to support it.
It's staggering how you haven't learned how differently-sized fanbases have different effects and pull regarding their different IP's with Pokémon's being so infested with normalgays, the normalgay opinion is the generally-held consensus.
Why is it so fricking hard for these companies to keep track of features in previous enhanced versions?
I feel like this only used to happen with minor stuff the devs genuinely might have missed, but both those games just ignore enhancements from previous versions that were literally marketed on the packaging.
It's hard to tell because it's such a poorly juxtaposed edit, but BDSP is supposed to be saying everything there, and it just cuts to P3 to show who BDSP is talking to.
How the frick did they fail to keep features from FES and Portable? That's barely anything to keep track of.
BDSP was clearly them being morons and insisting on selling two versions so they had to ignore the definitive one. It's not a good reason, but it's a reason.
What's the excuse for Persona 3?
ORAS is butt ugly but the primals and gen 6 online were pretty good. Still doesn't make up for the game being ugly and having a mostly shit ost, and having no battle frontier.
I'd say Persona 3 Reload is more similar to ORAS than BDSP. >Updates to visuals, combat, and QoL reminiscent of the previous mainline entry (P5, XY) >New outfits for the characters >New side stories and activities >Changes to some areas >Lack of notable content from previous enhanced rereleases (P3 FES's The Answer, P3P's Female Protagonist route, Emerald's Battle Frontier, etc.) >P3R adds more water to its UI, so like ORAS, you can give it a 7.8/10 Too Much Water rating
>tweaked the Fusion inheritance to selectable instead of RNG-based
This one's confirmed. I don't see why it wouldn't be there, reverting to RNG-based skill inheritance would be like TMs going back from unlimited uses to one-time use.
while that would be the single non-negotiable feature to put in a current year year megaten game, battling the fusion system is half the difficulty of the elizabeth fight and im not sure fatlus is up to the challege of compensating for that.
I dread how the final boss will get nerfed. In FES, if you prepared accordingly while also being at the boss's level, it's a fair battle that's still challenging, albeit long.
PLEASE NO The post-final boss final boss being an interactive cutscene was bad enough.
i look forward to fatlus learning the hard way that p5gays don't want p5ified games. they want p5
Didn't they learn that when they try to P4ify P1? Apparently not?
what happened to the tweet about the Cyberpunk 2077 devs complaining that they got raked over the coals for being glitchy but Pokemon SV got off scot free. I feel that fits this topic as well

BDSP isn’t really completely faithful, they made some stuff worse like Secret Bases or the WiFi building. They went out of their way to change some content, but not improve…
We lost so hard its unreal. We really need to either wait until 2050 for a roll of the dice for another possibly good Sinnoh game, or wait until 2035 when BDSP has been decompiled, ported to PC and fully modded to be not mediocre and visually appealing to look at. Only region that lost harder was Hoenn who got Mega autism and leftover Kalos loose ends injected into their games plots and story, that's one thing we luckily dodged.
> wait until 2035 when BDSP has been decompiled, ported to PC and fully modded to be not mediocre and visually appealing to look at
this will happen within the next 3 years
>Reload at least brings the presentation up to the last mainline game.
It really doesn't need to be. Persona 3 is set in 2009, and doesn't need the hyper-stylized aspect of Persona 5.
What baffles me the most in this case is the Soundtrack situation.
Reload's soundtrack is not only a remix of the original one, but also adding a new one as the Battle themes
Setting aside them allowing the player to switch between various soundtrack on costumes or in the settings (Not clear what it is yet)
BDSP on the other hand had the fricking MIDI placeholders in the base form. Fricking placeholders at release.
That is the fricking kicker for me.
BDSP has like 80% of the Platinum content on top of stuff that wasn't in Platinum and improving on it like the battle tower and Amity Square. Why do redditors lie?

Never has my hype for a remake been deflated faster than with Persona 3 Reload. All the P3 fans have ever wanted was a version of the game with both FES and P3P content. Instead, we're getting some weird remake that has a couple of added things like gameplay mechanics taken from P5 and an Aigis social link (because even Atlus realized there would be riots if they didn't include that). There's also changes to the armbands and it looks like people will occasionally summon personas without the use of an evoker.
I fully expect them to change the ending and make it 'happier' because of course modern Atlus will.
>an Aigis social link
Anon, this shit has been a thing since FES and Portable. Did you only played vanilla 3? >I fully expect them to change the ending
Nah, maybe edging out of Shinjiro's fate, Waka insisted on Chidori's alternation, but the ending will stay the same, maybe adding a few epilogue scenes Royal-style to compromise for cutting out on the answer.
>Anon, this shit has been a thing since FES and Portable. Did you only played vanilla 3?
I think you misinterpreted what I said. The director of Reload said in interviews that they were only remaking vanilla P3, which didn't include the Aigis social link - they only revealed later that they will have one in the game.
Less about being cut and more about NOT being the definite edition that was wanted as a remake. Basically it won't feature: >The Answer campaign from FES covering the aftermath of the true ending and with Aigis being the Main character >No selectable protagonist between male and female from Portable, including all the social links and event changes within the latter.
Probably the Pokemon closest to the Personas of her SEES comrades. But I am shit in keeping the terminologies of the various religions and shit so I don't know which ones it is.
The main features people are upset about being cut from Reload are The Answer (which most people hate and would take massive overhauls to fix) and FeMC (who would bring such an immense amount of changes that ATLUS could legitimately justify selling her version as a separate game). Nothing else (I believe) has been outright deconfirmed.
All BDSP had to do to add Platinum content was make some graphical changes and swap out a few Pokemon and moves that trainers had, and maybe add a postgame arc about Giratina or something, and ILCA couldn’t be bothered to do that.
I don't get it, both of those games are terrible.
Both suffer from the same case of if you played any of the previous iterations then there is no real need to get the newer ones.
It's also the only multi platform release persona game that won't be on the switch
>Party control
>Good
You didnt understand the game
Extremely gay
You are supposed to be the main character not an omnipotent god controlling his friends.
I've never met a 4th gen fan in my life. Nowhere, it's like they don't even exist.
gen4 is my favorite
Hi
Gen 4 is the best gen no contest
sup b***h, I'm here
bait
I love gen 4 but for HGSS and think DPPt suck ass
They are always the same people who try selling art on their Facebook
That's because one is from a series beloved by most people under the age of 40, the other is from a niche weeb spin-off of a more niche JRPG. so you're saying that gamefreak can literally shit in a plate, call it Pokemon and people will ask for a second dish?
Why is it so fricking hard for these companies to keep track of features in previous enhanced versions?
I feel like this only used to happen with minor stuff the devs genuinely might have missed, but both those games just ignore enhancements from previous versions that were literally marketed on the packaging.
I wouldn't say "everyone" loves BDSP. Its only redeeming features are that it contains basically every Pokemon from gens 1-4 and has good rng manips
It's hard to tell because it's such a poorly juxtaposed edit, but BDSP is supposed to be saying everything there, and it just cuts to P3 to show who BDSP is talking to.
You know you're right I forgot how this meme format/scene worked lmao
>a fandom celebrated a shit remake so every fandom should accept every shit remake
Do normoids really think like this?
How the frick did they fail to keep features from FES and Portable? That's barely anything to keep track of.
BDSP was clearly them being morons and insisting on selling two versions so they had to ignore the definitive one. It's not a good reason, but it's a reason.
What's the excuse for Persona 3?
for some reason they keep ignoring The Answer
P3 was a great game even before they made it better. DP is an amazingly bad game.
lol. why didn't they just release PLA, frick bdspiss
No, frick you and frick PLA
Should be this but with FRLG, HGSS, ORAS and BDSP.
Frick you, I liked ORAS.
ORAS was pretty bad but i would definitely take that over BDSP
But BDSP is an insult to Sinnoh which is why it's all Sinnoh games
> ORAS had all Pokemon at release
> BDSP needs a mod, that it's still in development, to have all Pokemon
ORAS is butt ugly but the primals and gen 6 online were pretty good. Still doesn't make up for the game being ugly and having a mostly shit ost, and having no battle frontier.
Primals are powercrept garbage, somehow even worse than megas
There were only 2 and they were fun to use
No pokemon above 720 bst should exist
Especially not with utterly busted abilities
The literal only good thing about ORAS was Zinnia and the draconids.
And the improvement of the rivals. And Elite 4 and Champion rematches (in exchange of gym rematches but the league is stronger so..). And soaring.
why exactly does bdsp NEED all pokemon?
>NOOOO I NEED TO CATCH MY SHITTY KALOSMONS THAT NOBODY LIKES
Yo don't be dissing my homie Furfrou, dawg.
>BDSP is an insult to Sinnoh
Nice meme you got there, pal
But it's true.
It's not true. BDSP is a great game.
You just have low standards. By the standards of the games it's supposed to be a remake of BDSP is trash
BDSP is better than DP
ergo its a good remake
>BDSP is better than DP
Delusional
moron
Says the qolBlack person
Go back to playing your muh difficulty hacks that gives you free rare candies for no reason
No. BDSP is better than DP and even Platinum.
Bad shitpost
Cope harder
cope with what
With you having shit taste
I don't defend bdspiss so i don't have to
I'd say Persona 3 Reload is more similar to ORAS than BDSP.
>Updates to visuals, combat, and QoL reminiscent of the previous mainline entry (P5, XY)

I seriously fricking hope that they finally tweaked the Skill Card duplication and Fusion inheritance to selectable instead of RNG-based.
>tweaked the Fusion inheritance to selectable instead of RNG-based
This one's confirmed. I don't see why it wouldn't be there, reverting to RNG-based skill inheritance would be like TMs going back from unlimited uses to one-time use.
Oh thank god. I swear portable was fine but having to tap out of the results for moves for hours is agonizing.
while that would be the single non-negotiable feature to put in a current year year megaten game, battling the fusion system is half the difficulty of the elizabeth fight and im not sure fatlus is up to the challege of compensating for that.
I dread how the final boss will get nerfed. In FES, if you prepared accordingly while also being at the boss's level, it's a fair battle that's still challenging, albeit long.
im expecting that whole boss fight to be an interactive cutscene
PLEASE NO
The post-final boss final boss being an interactive cutscene was bad enough.
Didn't they learn that when they try to P4ify P1? Apparently not?
Proof? I'd like to see this.
That's so mandatory that when Nocturne's remaster hit, it missed it and japs complained so much that they patched in modern fusion.
what happened to the tweet about the Cyberpunk 2077 devs complaining that they got raked over the coals for being glitchy but Pokemon SV got off scot free. I feel that fits this topic as well
BDSP isn’t really completely faithful, they made some stuff worse like Secret Bases or the WiFi building. They went out of their way to change some content, but not improve…
Everyone talks about features that were cut yet they can't name one without pivoting to Platinum.
secret base decorations
underground minigames
braindead shittier contests
no multi-battles in the tower
The Battle Zone being on the fricking cartridge you're paying almost 2 times as much for
>BUT MUH INFLATION, GOY!!!
THE COST OF MAKING GAMES IS HIGHER, GOY!!! WE NEED MORE SHEKELS, GOY!!!
BESIDES, WHAT ARE YOU, POOR?
Reload at least brings the presentation up to the last mainline game. You know, like Pokemon remakes used to do.
We lost so hard its unreal. this will happen within the next 3 years
They won't finish all that in 3 years when nay Dex has taken them like 2 and a bit years already. Visuals will be the hardest thing to fix
>Reload at least brings the presentation up to the last mainline game.

Ngl, Reloads track is fricking based. But Mass Destruction remix sucks ass
Holy frick the new female vocalist sounds like fricking shit, she's totally butchering the feel of every single track she's in
