I honestly fail to see the appeal. I've played through the original game twice and this is my first time with Legends. Everyone raves about the encounter rate being decreased and I don't feel that it's any different at all. I do notice that the encounters themselves are adjusted. I'm in South Ocean and getting bombarded with the same fricking encounter over and over that's just 6 of the same enemy that casts Eternum with like 90% accuracy causing me to have to heal my dickheads from 1 HP after every battle.
Enemies cast more spells in general, which makes encounters take longer. I never used to mind being in battle because all the battle themes in this game are great, which is rare for JRPGs. Unfortunately, they sound like sonic diarrhea in this version. So now more than ever it's important to just dump everything onto Aika, the best character (and girl) in the game, who is the fastest, has all the cheap AOE attacks which are red-based meaning they counter/hard-counter green and purple respectively, meaning she only gets more useful as the game goes on since those zones come up in midgame and they're dickheads, and to top it all off her magic stat is barely worse than Fina's, if at all.
The extra content is fine. It fits in fairly well when usually shit that's added in later versions of games sticks out like a sore thumb. With the exception of this moonfish shit, holy frick.

I know it's an old bit at this point but,
Nintendo fans?
Overrating their own games?
No way!
great game aside from the long spell animations. love every second of the adventure.
The real redpill is that Skies of Arcadia was always garbage. It was only hyped by deranged Sega fanboys due to being one of the only JRPGs on the Dreamcast. It sold like shit (twice!), has basic-ass mechanics ripped straight from the late 80s, hideously ugly graphics even for the time, zero memorable characters and a story less interesting than the average Dragon Quest game, let alone a top tier series.
There's a good reason why Sega tossed it in the dumpster and never looked back.
name a single rpg that looks better than skies at release....good luck.
Shenmue

>Buttless Fury!

What the frick, Sega?
Clean the shit out of your ears.
You must be fun at the parties you’re not invited to.

dont mind segashizos and nintentards, they get defensive even for some harmless jokes.
I wouldn't mind jokes if they were actually funny.
oh no mr. grumpy woke up on the wrong side of the futon 🙁
Holy shit you antagonistic peice of passive aggressive shit. Who hurt you? Tell me where Mario and sonic touched you!
i thought people were always shouting about the faster loading times. it doesn't bother me that much with the DC version but i did grow up with it.
Did no one ever try to rip the higher quality DC music and replace the GC's music in the files? Sure it's probably a lot of work but I feel like it CAN be done, just probably unplayable on an actual GC and would only work in Dolphin.
No one gives a frick about the quality of music.
t. mutes all games and listens to the joe rogan podcast
It's like the one thing about Legends that is objectively worse than the original version.
That only matters to audiophile morons that invest in cable risers. The average person isn't going to notice or care.
>I honestly fail to see the appeal.
There is none besides "hurr sky islands and I iz pirate"
Insultingly bad character design and annoying af random encounters
It came out on a nintendo console, that's the appeal
