How many of those 60 millions did you buy Gankerros?
i think two, i had the Xbox 360 version at launch and then the ultimate or w/e version on the pc
Three
how many redguards are in my store?
Four
None, but I've pirated it. I haven't given Bethesda a cent since horse armor.
Only one. Legendary edition for PC like a year before special edition came. Got it for like $10. I’ll do the same for Starfield, maybe. Depends on a lot of factors.,
1 but i'll probably make it 2 if I ever get VR, but then skyrim VR sales probably aren't counted in that
Once, grabbed it on Switch when I saw it on sale a couple years back.
I'll grab the PC version once I finally upgrade my piece of shit so I can mod it to hell and back.
Three. Four technically, but SE was free since I already had Oldrim. Got baited into buying the Switch Version. Big mistake. Elder Scrolls Anthology though was a nice buy for collecting purposes.
2
The original one (played the vanilla game a few times) and then SSE (modded Skyrim experience).
pc at release and then Xbox 360 legendary edition for 10 bucks
Once, the retail PC version about three weeks after release. Dunno if they count the Legendary edition as a separate copy since they gave that one for free.
3.
PS3, PC and switch
1. ps3
2. old steam
3. sse upgrade
Only one, the Xbox 360.
Second-hand.
i have not bought a single version of skyrim nor played a single second of it either.
3
It hasn't beaten these ones yet.
>thinking GTA V sales figures are real
>Brazillians that accidentally break their discs with machetes every week and rebuy the game
I can see it. Also...something something shark cards something brazillians
Technically, it MIGHT have outsold MK8, since he did say OVER 60 Million.
But that would be making an assumption, so yeah, for now that makes Skyrim the 7th most sold game of all time.
it'll eventually beat a few and become top 3 for a while
it won't beat gta 5 and Minecraft though
>PUBG
Will this be when we look back and realize single-player games died. The FRICK is that janky glorified mod on there?
the more successful a game is the more likely it is to become a forever game or delay the sequel by years
>minecraft 2 never
>gta6 delayed for years
>infinite tetris rereleases
>wii sports shouldn't even be on this list
>pubg 2 never
>mario kart 9 delayed for years
>red dead 3 delayed for years
>overwatch 2 is just overwatch 1
Holy frick Red Dead is such a surprise l
90 percent of marketing is letting people know your product exists. GTAV was so huge that it got Rockstar as a household name and basically sold RDR on its own.
Also anyone who played the 1st bought the 2nd, and its viewed as the pinnacle of game technology/production
Yeah, I haven't played it yet myself since it's not really my kind of game, but by all accounts it deserves its spot. But all too often, popularity is just a measure of how many people saw an ad more than the product's quality.
>and its viewed as the pinnacle of game technology/production
you mean pointless busy work to make shrinking horse testicles
Rockstar sales are way up there, but they almost certainly also do some 'funny accounting' or money laundering through 'sales' because engagement and online discourse for their games doesn't line up with the figures - it's not even fricking close.
You get a ton of sharkcards with new copies, its the same people, and they effectively killed RS with their legendary whale status
Rockstar is probably the biggest video game studio brand out there after GTAV.
????
witcher 4 under overwatch as well. over 10 years between games probably
>>red dead 3 delayed for years
2 came out 5 years ago now they're working on GTA the frick are talking about
that means 10 years between games in the same franchise and so fits with the model
Yeah I always though wii sports being counted on that list was stupid, yeah it fills up bargain bins from dumbasses accepting trade ins on it and it didn't come with the console in japan but japan and bargain bins alone didn't move 829000000 units
>no tetris 2
it's over. we lost.
>pubg 2 never
it did have a sequel. It was called Callisto Protocol
He said over 60 so it could be more than MK8.
>PUBG
How?
It replaced a lot of China's WoW gold farms since it started getting big right as WoW was starting to wane. Now the gold farms are more diversified and crypto really helped.
>PlayerUnknown's Batlegrounds: Battlegrounds
Strange how my parents know about Tetris but they have absolutely no idea what Minecraft is even though it's more popular.
Because tetris is from their era you fricking moron, what makes you think parents should be up to date with modern trends
Growing old is no excuse to not know the most famous video game of all time. It's the equivalent of not knowing about Mona Lisa.
>Mona Lisa.
I don't care about some decades old indie game that was le super deep for its time.
Because parents by definition have children. And children almost universally know about Minecraft and play it.
Because it's the most popular video game of all time and one of the most popular software ever made.
Player Unknown's Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds
wikipediagays won't update skyrim because they don't trust todd
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_best-selling_video_games#Skyrim_has_apparently_sold_over_60_million_copies
Wow that is pathetic. The director and head of the studio itself clearly saying it sold over 60 million isn't enough. Next they're gonna suggest that he might just be straight up lying, because le memes.
Propaganda is a powerful tool.
Witcher 3 sold more in less time.
>Only 50 million
Cuhringe
CDProjekt counts each DLC as a Witcher 3 sale. If Bethesda did the same thing it would hit top 3 all time.
The 50 million number from CDProjekt is a marketing trick to wash away the stink of 2077.
>CDProjekt counts each DLC as a Witcher 3 sale
Wait seriously? Source? If that's true holy shit that's shameless.
When CDProjekt does their sales infographics it includes the DLC by name.
Todd Howard
Skyrim has sold over 60 million
Marcin
Witcher 3/ DLC/DLC has sold 50 million.
Holy shit lmao, that's fricking pathetic if it's true. So the real sales for the game are a lot lower. Do you have an image of the infographic? I can't find them.
No it didn't. And Witcher 3 wouldn't even be CLOSE to Skyrim's sales if it weren't for the shitty Netflix series massively boosting its sales. It was at 20 million back in 2019, then the show came out and it has more than doubled since then. If the show didn't exist TW3 would very likely still be under 30 million.
why are Witchergays so desperate to believe their mediocre glorified eurojank as popular or more than Skyrim? Even looking beyond sales, Skyrim is clearly far more popular by virtually any metric you can use. Steam charts, console players, youtube views, modding, etc. It's just pure fanboy delusion.
Witcher has a Hollywood adaptation, Skyrim does not.
Witcher has a failed Hollywood adaptation that even the lead actor dislikes. Todd is making a successful Fallout one.
>Todd is making a successful Fallout one.
So not Skyrim? In the public sphere, having an adaptation means it's bigger and more popular. Video games are a fricking tiny medium and the top selling video game is barely a drop in the water.
>Video games are a fricking tiny medium
vydia industry has been larger then the film industry for many years moron
Only if you count mobile, which most of Ganker would crucify you for. Candy Crush alone makes more money than the rest of the industry.
>having an adaptation means it's bigger and more popular
Holy frick you're a moron. Several niche and semi-popular games have gotten adaptations over the years. Hitman for example had two of them despite all its games selling less than 3 million. GTA meanwhile has not had a movie or show yet, guess it's not as popular in "the public sphere".
The Witcher is a book series and Elder Scrolls is basically impossible to adapt to live action
kinda crazy how the top 3 selling games are eurojank by this
Someone gift me the game?
I can trade it too, got Metal Gear Rising, Farcry 1,2,3, Vice City (original, not sold anymore), original Hitmans etc.

>theres talk about another special edition coming out for Pride month 2049
>Elder Scrolls 6 still awaiting release date
this is the future you chose
I'm quite excited. I don't think the Fallout aesthetic is attractive, but I far prefer modern or futuristic clothing to fantasy or medieval clothing, so I'm looking forward to the lewd clothing mods.
Is that specific number significant in any way, or just because it's so high? Like does that make it the top selling something or what?
Close to it
A fool and his money are easily parted
I love how Ganker thinks they can logic away fun. Surely one more infographic will make people realize they didn't actually enjoy their time with 'Rim.
>Y-y-you liked it
Goyslopper cope
Oh shit. This is the post that convinced me I actually hated Skyrim. You did it, anon. Random journal flavor text that 90 percent of people ignored was the deciding factor.
>Random journal flavor text that 90 percent of people ignored
That was literally all the help you got from the quest giver. If you didn't already play the game and knew where the guy was, this text was helpful and not just flavor. But of course you already knew that, right?
>That was literally all the help you got from the quest giver.
Well that's simply wrong because he also verbally told you while you accepted the quest. The few ones that didn't and forced you to go into the journal are just as badly designed as the waypoints. No one cares about that shit, they just want to play the game.
have a nice day Bethesdadrone
>Y-y-you liked it
Yes, I did like it.
to be fair after putting 80 hours into BOTW I beat ganon and not long after started to realize that in that 80 hours I barely actually had any fun
but that sure as shit didn't come from any infographics spammed on Ganker
That said one thing in that image I do hope Starfield has Oblivion level NPC schedules again, although i'm a little worried they may have done away with every NPC being unique anyway, obviously they need generics to pad out large ship crews and outpost staff but I hope at the very least all the non guard NPCs in each city are unique
>No argument
60 million flies can't be wrong!
Doesn't that make you the moron for trying to give them a five-star meal and then getting angry when they stick with the shit? Gonna waste all day yelling at flies about how their taste buds are wrong?
Ah I was just looking at the best selling list to check skyrim and noticed it wasn't on there did they really not announce the milestones until 2 days ago?
Of course some of that 60 million might include unsold physical but I imagine there aren't a great deal of those in the grand scheme of things
>inb4 that 60 million is referring just to physical
>did they really not announce the milestones until 2 days ago?
Bethesda is pretty tight lipped about sales. We haven't heard about Fallout 4 since launch day 2015 when it shipped 12 million copies and similarly the last time Skyrim's sales numbers were mentioned was way back at 30 million in 2016.
The only thing they do frequently talk about is Fallout 76's total player count as a form of advertisement. 11 million in 2021, 13.5 million in 2022, 15 million in 2023.
76 player base is also a marketing trick. They count every account from the free weekends. If you joined 3 free weekends you count as three players.

I am buying all the above copies of Starfield on PC and all consoles available. I'm doing my part!
Nah, take 10 mill at least for game pass and another 1 million for stuborn sonygays that refuse to buy an xbox
remember 60 gorillion copies
Are they doing what CDPR is doing and inflating sells by saying dlc are considered "units sold" ?
Nah.
They just released the game like 12 times (not an exaggeration, it is actually 12 by my count) over the last 12 years.
I know it's fun to meme and all, but Skyrim is on 8 platforms and has been officially rereleased 3 times. VR/Alexa/whatever doesn't really count.
Of course VR counts, it has its own page on steam and everything. It's very much its own game separate from Skyrim SE.
How many are thanks to to gamepass™?
>shit officially sold 1 zijibillion copies
Is this supposed to be impressive?
If you don't care about noteworthy events in gaming, why you are even here?
Yes and it is
time to pirate 60 million copies to bankrupt todd
is this a joke? I thought this shit sold as much as minecraft to have 60 different editions, relaunches and ports
Honestly, given that Skyrim is older and available on more platforms I thought it would be more than double Witcher 3. Still an impressive number.
Skyrim is on 8 platforms, Witcher 3 is on 6. Stop acting like this is a major difference.
there's only 2 editions of the witcher original and the new enhanced
so 2 versions for 6 platforms
there's skyrim standard, legendary, special, vr
so lets see, 4 versions for pc
2 original consoles
another for xbone and ps4 version + vr for ps4 so 3 versions total
2 versions for switch
another version for PS5 and xsx
total we have 4 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 12 versions of this shit for 8 platforms
frick, I'm mixing versions and platforms, there's so much fricking skyrim it's annoying to even think about it
>Inflated sales statistics that count every single DLC as an extra copy of the game
CD Project are unironically cheating and they've still lost this contest.
>endless shilling from redditors and entire population of Poland
>released to a bigger market
>has a netflix show
>counting all its DLC sales
>almost always on sale for like $1 since 2016
>still can't beat Skyrim
lmao
If this shit sold 50 million, how come I never see anyone talk about it anymore?
Yakuza games sold way less, yet I still see people post memes and other shit based on it. Maybe Witcher 3 just wasn't memeable enough to be used for reaction pics.
Witcher 3 also doesn't ever show up in sales charts or most played charts. Not to mention its youtube and social media presence is pretty abysmal for a game that supposedly sold 50 million.
40 million of those were on 90% sale
>The Wikitards are having a meltdown and refusing to update the wiki because the source is an interview.
>A wikitard points out that the original sales figures they have for Skyrim were also from an interview
Lmao, what a pack of morons.
Look, I am not saying that Todd didn't sell any games, but 60 Millions, no way.
The only reason was obvious; modding. People would never wanna keep playing Skyrim if it was not for the mods and such..
Has someone updated pic related?
Thanks, chief.
