Skyrim was never good and it was already outdated in 2011. You like it only because of nostalgia. Bethesda never made a good game

Yes, back in 2011 I only liked the game that just released because I was nostalgic for it
I like it because I have a ton of animation, environment, waifu and porn mods installed. I didn't stick to Bethesda's intended design, I used it's groundwork with the tools and mods provided by them and others to turn it into the ultimate fantasy game for me, myself and I. And I will turn Starfield into the ultimate space sci-fi game once the modding tools are out for everyone to frick around with.
That only proves my point. Other people made the shit game nice for free kek
"Nice" is a bit of an understatement, look at what they've done to the game!
>mod to the point of making an entirely different game
>guys skyrim was good!
I have never modded Skyrim. I have 300 hours played.
True, but Oblivion was great and it is massively underrated but autists on Ganker.
Oblivion, much like skyrim was broken as frick at launch.
>at launch
Oblivion's leveling system will never not be gay. It tarnished an otherwise great experience.
I didn't play Oblivion on launch so I wouldn't know. I played it on my Xbox 360 after buying it in a Blockbuster bargain bin in 2008 or so. Played it properly on the PC not many years after.
I literally can never go back to playing Skyrim unless I mod it for porn and yet I don't want to take the leap and go through all the hassle of downloading and installing all the mods again. That's just too much effort.
it was fine. it helped bring more casual players into the fantasy setting and "RPG's". there is something appealing about skyrim but i dont really know what it is and i will never find it because of how bored i get.
I think it was visually quite good looking for the time, and it had a really good world and nice environments. But the writing was whatever, combat sucked, and RPG elements sucked. I have tried replaying it a bunch of times and even with mods it's unplayable for any other purpose than cooming
Cyberpunk, elden ring and BG3 will never been good games and will be forgotten before skyrim
Yeah because those games are just ok, not great not terrible, meanwhile Skyrim is such a stinking pile of shit, unplayable without mods and memed to death, that you simply can't forget about its existence
>not terrible
Ok cyberpunk is terrible, but Geriatric ring and BG3 objectivelly aren't
elden butthole ring is one of the worst games I've ever played
Why?
the people that made it genuinely had no idea what they were doing
it takes almost everything that made souls games good and throws it out the window in favor for a vast (empty) open world, boring and uninspired dungeons, and overall less unique content than any game in the series before it. it has positive qualities but they all pale in comparison to the bad ones
Skyrim only got big because of normies who don't even finish games.
That's why games are so frontloaded in terms of content now, they know normies and journalists won't play past the first few hours
You're right. It's a great game.
There are so few fantasy open world rpgs worth playing
And Bethesda games post Morrowind aren't one of them.
Skyrim is still the comfiest RPG to play on a couch with a controller. Exploring an open world in first person never gets old.
>Skyrim is still the comfiest RPG to play on a couch with a controller. Exploring an open world in first person never gets old.
I'd rather play Kings Field or New Vegas over that garbage.
Yeah I'm sure New Vegas and KF are great to play when you're dilating
i just want KCD2. Warhorse needs to tell us something at least
Deep Silver is publishing it, expect absolute garbage.
Embracer needs to sink that fricking publishing branch.
im choosing to not believe this because i cant handle the possibility that it wont be good. Todd already broke my heart with TES, Warhorse shall not do the same.
people from warhorse have claimed that they've mostly been left alone, so I have some hope.
at least it didn't get straight up cancelled like most of embracer's other projects rn
Fact of the matter is, there is super scant first person fantasy open world games. I think there has been 3 in the last 15 years.
It is the best due to that.
I agree. I dropped Skyrim with one week in 2011. Most people only like it because it was their first Bethesda game
>the cities kept getting smaller from game to game
How????
>the cities kept getting smaller from game to game
Because large cities aren't fun to actually play in. See New Vegas, the shittiest city in a first person open world RPG
Poorly designed cities aren't fun to play in. Size is only a factor insofar as designers don't put in effort commensurate with their size which then leaves them annoying to navigate and packed with immersion-breaking filler.
So how would you design one? What would you fill the large city with?
literally just boot up a LLM AI and tell it a bunch of the lore around the city then ask it to develop a civil engineering map. Get another AI to develop assets for houses and plug that shit into the game. That would be infinitely better than Emilslop
I never liked it
Zooms who grew up with it think it's the greatest thing ever. I know a girl who has 100% it like 12 times. And never installed a single mod. Also loves fallout 4 ofcourse.
Morrowind is one of my favorite games and I still wholeheartedly agree that bethesda has never made a good game.
Obsidian has never made a good game
Bullshit. They made two. Kotor 2 is not one of them.
New Vegas was never good.
This board fricking despised it when it came out and everyone praising it was called a normalgay.
he doesn't have opinions, he doesn't even have a personality. He just regurgitates things he's heard actual people say. Such is the live of a mentally ill Ganker spammer
>outdated
Do you get all of your opinions and vocabulary from youtube essayists?
>Skyrim was never good
It was weird to see people enjoying the vanilla version so late in it's life. There should be a study done on it to discover what it does exactly to lure so many npcs into thinking its better than it really is because I cannot even begin to understand vanilla Skyrim's appeal. My interest has always been the mods and even they cant make the base game enjoyable.
You pretty much have to do extensive modding for skyrim to be enjoyable, but by the time you've fixed the issues with combat, you're not even really playing skyrim anymore. Casting will literally never feel good, though.
Todd was always a fricking liar.
