You can choose to either sacrifice years off your own lifespan, physically aging you, to put an angry spirit to rest. Or you can leave the building it haunts, the town hall + library + home of one of your companions, to be condemned, and damming the ghost within to eternal torment. (not a difficult choice, just leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you pick the sensible option). Or you can pick Book Smart to lawyer your way out of the situation, gaslighting the ghost into accepting his own death. (Actually only one of the ways you can do it, but all of the dialogue options work)
Chapter 4:
Reese, someone who's relationship with you sits somewhere on the spectrum between "new friend" and "guy you incidentally know who kidnapped you" learns that his mom has been giving him near-lethal doses of poison his entire life to keep him infirm and bedridden. In response he stops taking his "medication".
You then learn that Reese is actually a werewolf
Your choice is then to either let werewolf-Reese kill his mom for poisoning him his entire life, or let his mom tranquilize him and let her hold him prisoner for the rest of his life. With the hot trait you can talk Reese down so he runs away without bloodshed.

Tabathia: Your Estranged, Coal-Baron Cousin.

Pros: The They/Them Shit literally never comes up. I think it literally only applies to what pronouns people use to refer to Avery in conversation. Hanging out with them is optional, I think there are like 2, maybe 3 conversations that Avery will appear in regardless of your choices, and they're always 3-way conversations. Any conversation with Avery outside of that is your own choice. I think you can be a dick to them too if that's your bag.
They're also actually really chill, from their earlier character designs they looked like they would've been a doormat or a sperg, so this feels like the best possible outcome.

I was the anon that posted that "I caved" a couple threads back, for those of you who actually care, here's the rundown on scarlet hollow.
Story:
You're a descendant of the Scarlets on your mom's side, coal barons who built and own the town of Scarlet Hollow. Your mom renounced her inheritance and cut ties with her family before running away to [Insert City Here]
You're going to Scarlet Hollow to attend your aunt's funeral; you arrive on Monday. The game is broken up into 7 chapters, taking place over the 7 chronological days you're going to be spending in scarlet hollow leading up to the funeral on Sunday, and the day after.
In the meantime, you're staying at your estranged cousin's, Tabathia's, house.
The overarching plot is that you're investigating strange incidents occurring in Scarlet Hollow and purifying(?) the 6(?) ritual stones scattered around the town. Each one, and the incident surrounding it, connected - either literally or thematically to a grave sin committed by your family in years past.
Choices:
The game's not bullshitting you when it says "you won't be able to save everyone" in each chapter there is a major binary "decision" (some choices are easier than others) that can affect character interactions and - to some extent - close off some of the non-manditory story events for all subsequent chapters. There is a caveat. At the beginning of the game you can pick 2 of 7 starting traits; Powerful Build, Mystic, Talk to Animals, Street Smart, Keen Eye, Book Smart and Hot. These traits unlock additional dialogue options and let you view additional scenes. Each one can also be used to bypass one of the 7 "difficult" choices by letting you pick a secret, third, better option.

Chapter 1:
You can choose to either reign in a dog or help an old man line up a shot on a monster, whichever one you don't help, dies. (Not one of the more difficult decisions) With the Powerful Build trait, you can do both
Chapter 2:
Three teenagers go exploring the depths of an abandoned mineshaft and you go in after them. As the mineshaft starts collapsing one of the teenagers finds you saying she ran off from the group and that she wants to go home, but that the other two are still lost. You can either leave the mineshaft with her or go looking for the other two. The former choice will cause the two remaining teenagers to be trapped in the mine and die, the latter choice will cause the first girl to be pinned under some falling rocks, requiring one of her legs to be amputated (Not a hard choice either) With the Keen Eye trait you can spot the first girl as she sneaks off, preventing her from doing so, meaning you only have to find the two remaining girls and nobody will get seriously hurt(you can still leave them to die though, lol)

Did the devs say they're doing anything with Stranger? She's one of the most seen routes (cause everyone will ignore the narrator at some point) but one of the least liked routes.
No comment on it other than "we really struggled with it and choose to drop things we feel aren't working" iirc. I'm hopeful that she gets supporting extra in the expansion, but my expectations are rock bottom
They more or less said that she served her purpose and that longer routes featuring her just weren't working the way they wanted it to (essentially because there wasn't any build up from Chapter 1 since you never see the Princess, it just ended up being a weirder version of chapter 1). I would not hold my breath on a Stranger expansion, and that aside she does technically get a bunch of endings so it's not like she actually has nothing.

Since this isn't in relation to waifu posting, I don't know if I'll get an answer, but is there an answer anywhere that I missed that explains what exactly happens to "abandoned" timelines? They "die", but is that because the process of shifting over the next possibility, or the departure of the Long Quiet, immediately brings ruin, or is it that, with the failure of removing the concept of death from that timeline, it will, eventually, die a natural death, which to the fatalistic viewpoint of the Narrator, means "destroying the world"?
So this is a weird one. The narrator implies that any time you get shunted to a new world, the old world dies, but at the same time the presence of the Contrarian implies that old worlds (at least under certain conditions) persist.
I think the best answer is to not think about the logic of TLQ too hard. It and the worlds within it are specifically designed to be a prison, one of those worlds dying doesn't actually matter so long as the ultimate goal of containing the protag and getting him to kill the Princess are achieved. A world "dying" is bad because that means you've already failed, and the task will become more difficult as a result.
I get that people aren't going to forgive Broken for the pessimism and self stabbing, but I can't be mad at the guy. Having gotten the tower route first, I was convinced the knife was useless against her by chapter 2. She just completely overpowers you in the chapter 1 fight (even if you get first blood by surprise, like I did) and breaks bones like nothing, then she sadistically crushes the life out of you. Broken's pessimism perfectly fits someone who experiences that. As for the self stabbing, Tower legitimately has mind control. Narrator explains how disobeying her feels impossible and even stabbing yourself feels easy if it's her command. He's the biggest Tower hater himself, and she can easily commandeer him once she notices him.
The Broken just wants to be mommy dommed (see: his reaction to Razor liking you) and at the end of the day I relate to that goal too much to actually hate the guy.

I feel like some of them are underdeveloped/used, like Skeptic or Cheated. Maybe that's just me.
I'm sure Stubborn is similarly limited, despite being so memorable. I really love Smitten for everything outside of Damsel. He's too one dimensional when everything is going perfectly right, almost as derealed as Damsel herself. But kill Damsel, and Smitten erupts with personality, becoming almost terrifying. I love it. And in Thorn, he's actually the most reasonable one. Instead of loveblind and dumb, he recognizes her anger and trust issues and accurately guides you in how the two of you can overcome it -- it's a bit like Hunted in Eye. Not to mention single-handedly opening the kiss scene and fighting the narrator to make him describe it. Love my boy.
