The princess is transformation, death, and change so it effectively is heat death but also any form of death overall. The Narrator wanted to destroy her so as to completely free all things from mortality, and given how the entity turns out the instant it regains its power, he's sort of justified to. That and you know, shes killing the world.
Yea it's just that the narrator specifically says he locked her up because the world was about to end so it was specifically heat death that got him to do it. It's one of the Explore options I think. He admits to knowing prior routes (not counting mirror resets). He doesnt talk about it because if MC knows too much he wills Princess into doing bad shit
Biggest reason to play this is definitely the art. The writing was so amateurish I skipped most of anything that wasn't directly related to the princess after the first ending - the voices mostly kept repeating and stating out obvious fluff just to pad out. Shame it delved into monster personas rather than just keeping it on the human princess and closer to a psychological horror cause that was the game at its best. The game coulda been better

Judging by what the Mound says when you finally meet it proper, about Her "Not being death but I encompass it in my multitudes", I'm not sure it's possible to even simplify her to a single concept. There are presumably countless fundamental concepts like death, change, transformation, entropy, and the like contained within her. The Long Quiet would then be another of these fundamental facets, albeit one forcibly torn from the whole and turned against it.
This also makes the Narrator seem even more reckless, since who fricking knows just how many core concepts across all realities just up and vanish with the Shifting Mound gone. It's not just death you get rid of if you destroy it, it's an untold number of other aspects of everything everywhere that go down with it.

Killing them unprovoked is something I would never do.
Getting the 'waifu end' is probably the worst ending to get on your first run because that means you have to be an butthole for the rest of other runs for all achievements.
If you choose the complete reset, is it a literal reset or is it more content? It's not showing the text as having been read, but not sure if that's just a gimmick.
Coffin of Andy and Leyley is the other way. Although real talk I do suspect they bit off more than they could chew with this one, and underestimated how much effort voice lines+illustrations would take.
I've found all the endings to be satisfying, I think the only one I'm missing is the Hero moroning the story to really just be about him rescuing the princess and frolicking off into the sunset.
She doesn't care about universes. An infinity of them die and are born all the time - hell, that's literally what the Construct is to begin with. The Shifting Mound gives no shits about mortals or the lives of whole realities, but it does genuinely love the Long Quiet.
Even in the route where you realize what you are and still resolve to kill it, the Mound loves you. She even outright says She only fights you to "save you" from the "delusion" you're in. Never once does she hold your actions against you - fighting each other is simply your nature. You can even keep yourselves in the loop forever if you want.

It even outright calls the Narrator a dumbass because he laser-focused on it being death, when death is just one of the many facets of itself encompassed by its multitudes. A big part of the reason why the Narrator insists she's "just a normal Princess" is him trying to desperately convince the Long Quiet to see her as just that and nothing else. You can even ask why she's not say, a moldy piece of food or something like that (implying she'd take on vastly different forms under other perceptions) and the Narrator says that the only reason she's a princess is because that's what the Long Quiet believes her to be. If someone believed her to also be a princess, they'd likely see something similar, but someone who believes her to be say, a giant caterpillar will see a giant caterpillar. And so forth.
So it might be that the Long Quiet could always force her into that form if someone else was with him, but that person could interpret her as something else entirely based on what information they had before encountering her.

I'll just point out that it's never stated that she's entropy by anyone anywhere. The Narrator claism she's death, but she states that he's wrong and that's just a tiny facet of her. The Narrator likewise calls her out as being the thing that allows for any sort of change and transformation itself, concepts not at all similar to entropy.

Scarlett Hollow and Crimson Gray are both fantastic Western visual novels. Those are the only ones I know of that have a ton of choices and outcomes. If anyone knows any Eastern visual novels with a ton of choice, I'd like to hear them.

The ending of Slay the Princess has me hesitant to read anything by the same dev cause I don't want to waste my time on a good concept that is thrown out the window so some homosexual can wax lyrical at me.
There is no ending yet. It's not a short experience that starts over after after 10 or 15 minutes. It's quite long though despite still being unfinished and quite possibly has more dialogue than any visual novel ever made.
It was one of the most kino experiences I've had with a game in a long time, the music, the art, the writing, I really got into it, way more than I ever did Slay the Princess which I only care about because of its relation to Scarlet Hollow.
Let the coffee do it's work and I'll try to remember, I could have sworn I got Witch first, and the first time I encountered Opportunist is with the ankle-breaking possessing Princess.

The princess is transformation, death, and change so it effectively is heat death but also any form of death overall. The Narrator wanted to destroy her so as to completely free all things from mortality, and given how the entity turns out the instant it regains its power, he's sort of justified to. That and you know, shes killing the world.
Yea it's just that the narrator specifically says he locked her up because the world was about to end so it was specifically heat death that got him to do it. And I mean, the entity just does what we do in the Outer Wilds ending. If you don't reset the universe every few years you end up with Dark Souls 3

Biggest reason to play this is definitely the art. The writing was so amateurish I skipped most of anything that wasn't directly related to the princess after the first ending - the voices mostly kept repeating and stating out obvious fluff just to pad out. Shame it delved into monster personas rather than just keeping it on the human princess and closer to a psychological horror cause that was the game at its best. The game coulda been better

Now this I get what you mean, that's the feel the first demo had but then it shifted to more varied routes in the second demo
Again, I read it all at first but the repetition outweighted any fun I could gleam from it. I agree some lines were ok but it's narrator repeating "you have to kill her" in countless variations which can only go so far.
Going by shat she says, it seems the Long Quiet (You) was just one of the many multitudes (albeit a primary facet of the whole) of the Shifting Mound and the Narrator somehow found a way to split you off into your own discrete God before entrapping you both in the Construct, a system of infinite worlds to keep the two of you bound forever or at least until the Hero/Long Quiet wins and destroys the Shifting Mound to free everything everywhere from death.
Judging based on how integral you are to the Narrator's goals, my best guess is that the Long Quiet was representative of stuff like Stasis, Eternity, and Immortality back when it was part of the Mound - and that's what the narrator wants to win, and given how the Mound even says you two are fundamentally opposed but still parts of a whole, you 'fighting' with each others was probably the case even when you were just one totality. The Shifting Mound is ultimately callous in how it views life, but it's also correct that to destroy it (something only possible because you are a part of it) would mean to condemn everything forever to an eternity of static silence. So in a way the Narrator is both right and wrong to want it gone.
As for the Narrator himself, no clue what he is but he definitely isn't human. I think you're right that he was probably a God of some sort, but clearly beneath the Shifting Mound in power, which is why he sets up the construct to give rise to the possibility of the Long Quiet destroying Her.

You can also see MC and Princess as the god of change instead of strictly time, making the long quiet perfect order and making the Princess entropy. Which still fits in with these theories
Judging by what the Mound says when you finally meet it proper, about Her "Not being death but I encompass it in my multitudes", I'm not sure it's possible to even simplify her to a single concept. There are presumably countless fundamental concepts like death, change, transformation, entropy, and the like contained within her. The Long Quiet would then be another of these fundamental facets, albeit one forcibly torn from the whole and turned against it.
This also makes the Narrator seem even more reckless, since who fricking knows just how many core concepts across all realities just up and vanish with the Shifting Mound gone. It's not just death you get rid of if you destroy it, it's an untold number of other aspects of everything everywhere that go down with it.
The narrator's desperation comes across pretty clear, he just doesnt give a frick about anything except ending death. He even pretends to be moronic the entire game and lies about not seeing the mirror or remembering chapter 1 runs

Even in the route where you realize what you are and still resolve to kill it, the Mound loves you. She even outright says She only fights you to "save you" from the "delusion" you're in. Never once does she hold your actions against you - fighting each other is simply your nature. You can even keep yourselves in the loop forever if you want.
I got this ending and I chose to finish her off and create a new world I felt kinda bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if Long Quiet's observational-influence is so powerful to her she wouldn't stop being a princess so long as he's around.
A big part of the reason why the Narrator insists she's "just a normal Princess" is him trying to desperately convince the Long Quiet to see her as just that and nothing else. You can even ask why she's not say, a moldy piece of food or something like that (implying she'd take on vastly different forms under other perceptions) and the Narrator says that the only reason she's a princess is because that's what the Long Quiet believes her to be. If someone believed her to also be a princess, they'd likely see something similar, but someone who believes her to be say, a giant caterpillar will see a giant caterpillar. And so forth.
So it might be that the Long Quiet could always force her into that form if someone else was with him, but that person could interpret her as something else entirely based on what information they had before encountering her.

Scarlett Hollow and Crimson Gray are both fantastic Western visual novels. Those are the only ones I know of that have a ton of choices and outcomes. If anyone knows any Eastern visual novels with a ton of choice, I'd like to hear them.

The ending of Slay the Princess has me hesitant to read anything by the same dev cause I don't want to waste my time on a good concept that is thrown out the window so some homosexual can wax lyrical at me.
There is no ending yet. It's not a short experience that starts over after after 10 or 15 minutes. It's quite long though despite still being unfinished and quite possibly has more dialogue than any visual novel ever made.
More doesn't mean better, but Princess was really decent outside the ending, so I'll give it a whirl.
It was one of the most kino experiences I've had with a game in a long time, the music, the art, the writing, I really got into it, way more than I ever did Slay the Princess which I only care about because of its relation to Scarlet Hollow.
Echo and its spinoffs if you don't mind furries.
