What did you think of it? What was your favorite radio station (For me it's Daptones Radio and Softly Radio) I just beat it for the first time and really enjoyed it. Sure it's a GTA clone, but the setting and characters were fun. I liked the under-cover cop plot. It felt a little rushed, it was over before I expected, but in general it was fun.
It's GTA if GTA focused on hand-to-hand combat
It's good
Best open world kino besides San Andreas. Triads and hong kong are criminally underrated as a setting.
Correct.
>best radio station
Easily warp or ninja tune. Starting a race to Hudmo - Fuse or Rustie - Ultra Thizz is peak kino.
Questionable gun mechanics but the gameplay is fun and I loved the story.
It's garbage much like any GTA clone. The story was nice. Would have been better off as a John Woo film.
Inspector Teng should have been dateable.
Mediocre GTA + Yakuza clone that manages to be worse than both
They could've done so much more and turned it into a stable franchise, but they fricked it up. I enjoyed running around the city more than I did with GTA V. There were more interactions to be had with the npcs and the environmental attacks. The melee was satisfying and was the main thing they could've built up on for future games. The cities definitely felt lacking, mainly in the last half of the game, which could've been fixed with sequels. They could've improved the cars, weapon systems, added aerial vehicles, and more minigames to fill the spot that GTA V left open for over a decade. They really fricked it hard.
rainy nights in this game were *chef's kiss*
Rainy cities at night bathed in neon will always be pure aesthetic joy
>driving around North Point on a rainy night
>Bonobo - Kiara starts playing on the radio
>leisurely cruise on the highway
>Echo Beach starts playing
The closest I've gotten in a game to that feeling of leaning back in your car seat and resting one arm on the windowsill.
That with this
*redditor's kiss*
He made a good point. I won't have you besmirch Anonymous' good name!
It’s a very good game. Criminally underrated setting. Visual and sound design are top notch, the story is cliche but i was still shocked at some points (it was a while ago, i played it on launch)
All in all this game is a gem. You can feel the love put into it
and
>THAT main menu theme
also
>Anti-pop consortium - Volcano (Four Tet instrumental)
The DLC is kinda shit. The one with the ghosts is a neat idea but short and otherwise bland, the other story dlc is just garbage. Aside from that, it is a pretty fun game, I enjoyed it.
WEI
SHEN
MOTHERFRICKER
WHO ARE YOU?
came here to post this
tfw we will never ever get the sequel, let alone how it was depicted in the leaked design documents
One of the worst crimes in history of gaming.
The team was clearly passionate about the IP and it shows from the beginning to the end. I'd sacrifice all current soulless devs and their IPs for the sequel.
This happens so often i can’t even be bothered to feel sad anymore. This world is cursed.
What did they have planned for a sequel? I haven't heard about this.

>Shen would be joined by a "conflicted, corrupt partner" named Henry Fang, as they explored China's Pearl River Megacity, a noted economic hub (which is a real place called 'Pearl River Delta')
>The player would have the ability to arrest any NPC in the world, and influence a branching storyline that swapped between both Shen and Fang.
>Here's one example of how that might have played out:
>>"An opening scene consists of Wei and Fang talking together, discussing what the next step of an investigation should be. Deciding to split up and follow different leads, Wei's thread will follow him as he busts heads for information, while Fang plants evidence by breaking into a suspect's house. Depending on the character selected, the audience (and characters) will only see one side of the story until both threads are played. This gives us ample opportunity to explore both characters fully, and gives the player the revelatory experience of discovering both sides of the story."
Granted there are some ideas, such as
>integrating a mobile app with the game so that you could control ingame police units
>using cloud saves to determine crime rates for all players
but honestly, those would have most likely been axed as noted by the document.
They also explain a bit about the troubles they had, which probably also affected the potential sequel:
>>"Several of our best programmers decided to move on and there was some creative turnover, as well," said the same source. "It took several years of hell to ship Sleeping Dogs and many members of the team weren't willing to go through it all again. I was one of the few that stuck around, but even in my case, it took a large toll on my personal life and mental health. Studio culture is a fragile thing and even the loss of a few key people can change the entire dynamic of the workplace."
tfw triad wars existed.
Man, I just want more kung fu brawling games.
A man who never eats pork buns is never a whole man!
Story, fighting and driving was fun. Pretty much all the side content was moronic and boring.
so you are the intern that got tasked with checking market demand for another remake.
use this time wisely. learn something new so that when they chew you up and spit you down in 18 months you will be able to get a better job
I liked the combat and missions and the night market is just amazing, but everything outside of those things felt empty, The open world's NPCs and design was really bland compared to the night market and there weren't areas in the other areas I really felt were worth seeing.
i enjoy the game quite a lot, the radios were nice too (softly and warp first come to mind) but holy fricking shit man, the driving is not good. lowering the fps to 30 made it more bearable, but dare you drive anything sports and the car begins to do this stupid wobbling thing during a turn while driving fast. why is this a thing to begin with!? is this glitch only unique to the definitive edition?
I keep hearing this and think you people are just legit shit. The driving is awesome.
>Sleeping Dogs
>There isn't a single dog sleeping in the entire game
This is false advertisement. No wonder the game didn't get a sequel m
Ilyana > Not Ping > Sandra > Amanda > Tiffany
I played through the story twice in a row without playing anything else a few weeks ago. This is after already playing through most of it already a couple of years ago
Probably the most fun I've ever had just roaming around the city in a game of this genre since San Andreas. My biggest complaint is that the game's structure kinda begins to fall apart after you start getting missions outside North Point.
I didn't like it - and the plot ended too abruptly for me. I expected at least a few missions more
criminally underrated game. loved jumping off of and onto cars during chases
Great atmosphere, one of the more fun GTA clones.
NinjaTune is the best station.
Censored in Germanistan. Didn't play.
soulful game
asian big cities (sans japan) are criminally underutilized in vidya. what a shame.
infinite soul
action hijacks are an awsome mechanic wish gta stole it
