You not only can, it's more incentivized than in any other SMT game which I kind of didn't like. They give you plenty of opportunity to keep your Demons strong and Demons also have unique skills that make them worth keeping around even beyond just you liking the Demon design, Idun is a prime example of that with Golden Apple being such a good skill that it'd be a waste to replace her.

I was enjoying this game but I bailed on it near the end, when you have to climb a bunch of cubes and go fight a bunch of gods and everyone is 10 or 20 levels higher than you. Did I miss anything worthwhile after that part?
That area is fun and there's an optional boss in it that's one of the best bosses in the series, but afterwards you just have the final dungeon of the game and the ending which both suck.

They said it changes mid game. The main story is like 1 hour, so a half hour of new story. Maybe a few new side quests. There is a new dungeon and Da'at. That will more hours of new content then the story.

The re-release girl is not something unique to Persona. Atlus have done it before in Strange Journey Redux, Perfect Chronology, Devil Survivor 2, Trauma Center and both Etrian Odyssey Untold games.
I think only Nocturne and just because Dante/Raidou were functionally the same thing and just not girls, yeah. Arguably P3FES and P3P as well, though they both have new girls one is just a part of the new expansion and not a new girl put into the existing story and the other is a replacement for the protagonist which isn't the same as the usual re-release girl.

Hell, Huang Long's essence also makes you pretty much unkillable. They will probably do some IV:A style balancing (meaning, moronicly large HP pools and plenty of multi-stage endurance bossfights).
The biggest problem with the game are dampers. The game forces you to use them yet it trivialices de boss battles. For every big boss attack, you evade it and get one free turn. Might as well heal you instead of attacking,

In terms of gameplay mechanics I agree SMT5 is the best one, especially with the expanded affinities which is imo a fun and engaging compromise now that skill inheritance is completely free in fusions. But aside from the mechanics SMT5 was a bit sparse for content. It needed a lot more boss battles for one. Even with the Fiend's it felt pretty empty. I can't imagine how bad it would be without them.
I agree but the atmospere sucks in V so the music while great doesn't come close to the other games since they have good atmospere where the music excels even further.

There's several and it's implied that at least some of them will be addressed in the Vengeance version, but despite the base game's flaws it was still great so there's only going up from here I think.
Story needs some expansion for the focus that they were trying to give it - it was pretty barebones, same as the characters - but it seems like they are fixing both especially by integrating the characters more into your gameplay.
The other issue I had was the lack of proper fricking dungeons which this could address, but I haven't seen shit. The entire game had like, 2. One was somewhat OK, the other one (which is the final fricking dungeon in the game) is absolutely PITIFUL.
Press release says one new dungeon is being added (and it might be exclusive to the Vengeance story path?), really wonder if they'll actually go back and finish the final dungeon, because that's by far the most blatantly unfinished part of the game in my eyes.

It's a two way problem, being overleveled affects more than it should, which is especially apparent on the secret neutral route's Lucifer being pretty much guaranteed to be way weaker than he should cause he's far lower leveled than Shiva.
And purely level grinding shouldn't be such a viable option for overcoming challenges, but the level scaling means you can just overlook skill/affinity flaws in your party and just up that number until the enemy can't keep up anymore. What's the benefit of this system?

I was enjoying this game but I bailed on it near the end, when you have to climb a bunch of cubes and go fight a bunch of gods and everyone is 10 or 20 levels higher than you. Did I miss anything worthwhile after that part?
That area is fun and there's an optional boss in it that's one of the best bosses in the series, but afterwards you just have the final dungeon of the game and the ending which both suck.

I think only Nocturne and just because Dante/Raidou were functionally the same thing and just not girls, yeah. Hell, Huang Long's essence also makes you pretty much unkillable. They will probably do some IV:A style balancing (meaning, moronicly large HP pools and plenty of multi-stage endurance bossfights).
The biggest problem with the game are dampers. The game forces you to use them yet it trivialices de boss battles. For every big boss attack, you evade it and get one free turn. Might as well heal you instead of attacking,

I liked Attack Knowhow/Healing Knowhow being two separate skills that took up slots over 5 making all demons able to use them with a Miracle. Still very useful, but an actual decision you had to make

for me, its way better than 4 at least, 4 had a better atmosphere and all but the gameplay was kinda bad(fixed on 4A) and it becomes a walk in the park quickly.

In terms of gameplay mechanics I agree SMT5 is the best one, especially with the expanded affinities which is imo a fun and engaging compromise now that skill inheritance is completely free in fusions. But aside from the mechanics SMT5 was a bit sparse for content. It needed a lot more boss battles for one. Even with the Fiend's it felt pretty empty. I can't imagine how bad it would be without them.

There's several and it's implied that at least some of them will be addressed in the Vengeance version, but despite the base game's flaws it was still great so there's only going up from here I think.
Story needs some expansion for the focus that they were trying to give it - it was pretty barebones, same as the characters - but it seems like they are fixing both especially by integrating the characters more into your gameplay.
The other issue I had was the lack of proper fricking dungeons which this could address, but I haven't seen shit. The entire game had like, 2. One was somewhat OK, the other one (which is the final fricking dungeon in the game) is absolutely PITIFUL.
Press release says one new dungeon is being added (and it might be exclusive to the Vengeance story path?), really wonder if they'll actually go back and finish the final dungeon, because that's by far the most blatantly unfinished part of the game in my eyes.

It's a two way problem, being overleveled affects more than it should, which is especially apparent on the secret neutral route's Lucifer being pretty much guaranteed to be way weaker than he should cause he's far lower leveled than Shiva.
And purely level grinding shouldn't be such a viable option for overcoming challenges, but the level scaling means you can just overlook skill/affinity flaws in your party and just up that number until the enemy can't keep up anymore. What's the benefit of this system?
