no, I just play with console until good VR or cloud gaming shows up.
we already have decent cloud gaming from nvidia
i can technically play ow2 on my phone with it and the response time is as good as your connection
Console gaming isn't dead, it's just becoming Cloud gaming. They'll keep selling PS5s, probably slimming them down into some sort of cloud gaming console (maybe a Playstation Cloud or PSC?), and then tout that as their new subscription model.
If that's what they want to try, they'll fail.
I am actually currently on a 10 year hiatus from playing games. Note that doesn't mean I'm not going to play games, it means I am going to play older games and catch up on my backlog. The goal isn't really to tidy up the backlog, it's actually to exit the video game economy, and see if they eventually cater to my interests. I hope others do similar so we can get the industry back on track.
I think you're right. This is probably the best thing any of us can do right now.
They'll either have to cater to us again, or we have 40 years of video games to ply through. Not necessarily all of it like you said, but there's enough there to never have to buy a single new game again.

PS5 and XBONE got too late just like their previous gen did on changing the hardware, just when they came out to the market, the new GPU launch of the RX 6000 series was out, like wtf, all because they wanted to keep milking sales shit like the PS4 Pro, which was just a massive failure anyways, at most if they just delayed and renegociated the GPU hardware change with AMD, they would have been doing fine by now.
Sony was hyping up their ssd but the new Gen 5 NVME PCIe 5.0 SSDs are faster and aren’t even compatible with PS5
The PS5 ssd hype has more to do with the architecture than the raw speeds. It’s structured in such a way that the console can load textures/models with little to no performance cost. While the Xbox functions more like a standard windows pc.
