So I got baited into trying Project 1999 by a thread couple days ago. Never played Everquest before. Started a dark elf necromancer, figured my way around town, got to level 2. How the frick do I get money to buy my first spells? I need like a gold to get the skeleton summon and I only have a couple silver. It's a pain in the butt to kill anything by myself.
Everquest / Project 1999 thread?
does this game have controller support?
I don't think so
I have heard people say that it works with a Steam controller but it sounds like a headache tbh
>Haven't seen any humanoids besides skeletons and they don't seem to have weapons yet
What they carry is random, cracked staff on a decaying skelly is the ultimate newbie jackpot
Blueberry supremacy
Yeah I've found quite a few weapons by now. Turns out the first couple skellies I found had none.
Never played the original EQ, but I think you and I both know the answer to your gold problem lol grind
Yeah I figured. It's a pain in the butt though.
Haven't seen any humanoids besides skeletons and they don't seem to have weapons yet
I wasn't expecting to afford all of them. Just the one that was the reason why I made a necromancer to begin with.
Run around looking for enemies carrying sticks. Last I remember, NPCs pay ridiculous prices for each 2-Handed staff.
>cracked staff
Thanks for the correction. Wasn't sure if I had named the right weapon.
do quests, kill things, sell drops, repeat
you aren't meant to be able to have/afford all the spells the second youre able to learn them or even until much later usually so dont feel like youre doing something wrong
kill every decaying skeleton you see, they drop bone chips, money, cloth gear and rusty weapons. if you find one with a staff it may be a cracked staff which sells for over 1 platinum.
Found one with a club, sold it for 2 gold and got two spells. Now I got my own skelebro.
youre moving on up anon
Moving up indeed. Managed to buy a few bags and even found one of those staffs that sold for a plat.
Good to see I'm not the only man of culture around these parts.
Thanks I guess. I think I'm having fun. It got a lot better once I got my skelebro. He's destroying everything.
My fellow dark skinned undead enjoyer.
>actually having fun with a videogame
congratulations on having the best thread on Ganker this week, anon
i wish you and your skelebro the best of luck on your travels
I wouldn't frick with you
sell bone chips for fat plat
then greater lightstone turnins to that gypsy lady in NK once you get to around 12
I'm going to roll a Warrior and there's nothing you can do to stop me
stop dont do it!!!
Too late
Prepare to be bored as hell but look cool
I pussied out and made a shadow knight instead
There will never be a game with this much soul again
is it time for the Ganker guild? kickstart the drama train early
There hasn't been a decent Ganker group since Brohan was a thing
>it's been five years since Brohan was a thing
I think I'll give this game a go, I see people decrying Warrior what other classes are noob traps?
Warrior is kind of boring until you hit 50+, start raiding, get geared and become a god. That's a very long journey.
Rogue is the top DPS in the game once you have gear, but it will take a while to get it. You can't solo at all. Monsters past level 15 or so will laugh in your face as they flatten you 1v1.
Don't roll Wizard if you want to group with people. Wizards are virtually useless in an XP group. Technically you can CC and burst but Wizard group DPS is absolutely pathetic. Great for smoking raid bosses and soloing however.
Both of those classes are really better for a second character.
Ranger kind of generally sucks but it isn't a huge trap or anything since they still are good at a few things. All of the classes have areas they shine at.
