We are doing a 5e game and one of the players is a Lawful Good fighter. We just arrived in Bryn Shander and finished the encounter with the Giants. The issues are as such:
He is Lawful Good, and Giants are evil. He used Persuasion and won to convince them to give them 24 hours to search the town for the person they are looking for and the artifact with it. He's Lawful good, by the rules he's supposed to fight and kill evil, no matter what.
Secondly, he worships Bahamut. Outside of cleric and paladin characters CANNOT actively worship God's according to the rules. This is an even bigger affront to his playstyle since he rarely mentions his god, rarely shows his holy symbol, and isn't trying to Bible thump. All of these are wrong to how a character is played.
Thirdly, he managed to convince the giants on another successful roll that the man and artifact were not in Bryn Shander. The parry gained the experience for the encounter and the giants left.
The GM allowed this.
How do I, as a player, correct this person?

Seriously, he is playing one hundred percent wrong and everyone is okay with it. I'll get physically violent out if game if I have to but what would be the best way to fix this issue without getting violent?
Not playing DnD and not making shitty bait threads on Ganker.org's /tg/- traditional games board.
I never post here anymore because people never help when people ask legitimate questions of concern. No wonder this board is a mess. If people will just give an honest answer I'll gladly utilize that suggestion.
You're asking us how to be That Guy. Our advice is "Don't be That Guy" because, "no one likes That Guy"
I'm not being "That guy." He's playing wrong according to all the rules, HE is being "That Guy."
You're the one trying to disrupt the game because you personally believe there's only one way to deal with an encounter, one way to be a devout warrior of your God and doing it despite the only real authority figure in the game and the party being fine with it. To the point of physical violence.
You are That Guy. Stop.
stop taking the bait
There IS only one way! You fricking kill evil you don't negotiate with it! Fricking mindsets like this are harmful in and out of game.
no, no, no. our advice is to not play DnD.
you are like tiny baby
>I'll get physically violent out if game
You should have kept this in the back pocket for a while and busted it out later in the thread. Showed your hand too early, babe.
Also that's a monster hunter pic. Learn the difference between games and anime sometime.

>The GM allowed this.
>How do I, as a player, correct this person?
You don't.
But he's playing wrong? Why the hell do people allow this?
Y'all homies posting in a no games tranime bait thread
>Another shitty spam thread
One more to the collection, I guess
And we reached the point where new shitposting threads are pushing out the older ones.
Whatever I'm not getting any actual "help" despite being in the right. I'll just go elsewhere for actual advice on how to deal with this.
No you won't
You'll keep making abhorrent threads on your iphone whenever the teacher has her back to the class
it's bait.
Android* not iPhone. Besides I haven't posted here looking for actual advice in a long ass time and I see absolutely nothing has changed. I'll rectify this situation myself.
>Outside of cleric and paladin characters CANNOT actively worship God's according to the rules
Black person what are you smoking
>These brief summaries of the nine alignments describe the typical behavior of a creature with that alignment. Individuals might vary significantly from that typical behavior, and few people are perfectly and consistently faithful to the precepts of their alignment.
>Lawful good (LG) creatures can be counted on to do the right thing as expected by society. Gold dragons and paladins are typically lawful good.
The fighter used his wits to frustrate the plans of evil giants, so this seems perfectly fine to me. Lawful Good doesn't say "fight and kill evil no matter what" in the rulebook.
>Commandments of Bahamut
>Stand as a paragon of honor and justice.
>Smite evil wherever it is found, yet show compassion to those who have strayed from the path of righteousness.
>Defend the weak, bring freedom to the persecuted, and protect the ideals of justice and order
Definitely more conflict here, as Bahamut does command his followers to "smite evil wherever it is found". I don't know the details of the module but there is probably some conflict between the "smite evil" and the "defend the weak, bring freedom to the persecuted" here in terms of looking for the man and the artifact. And of course as a fighter, he might just be not that devout a follower of Bahamut.
So I'd say he's totally in the clear as regards LG alignment, and kind of not doing a good job of being a faithful Bahamutian.

OP is plainly trolling and really laying it on thick
but the mods aren't going to delete the thread so we might as well correct the wrong information.
O wish I was only trolling since that seems to be the norm here. I'm deadly serious about this, and I want help not ridicule.
Bruh nobody is buying it, you went too hard too quick.
I'm not very good at asking for help with these situations so I apologize for coming on too strong. I genuinely need help to correct this player's behavior.
>I genuinely need help to correct this player's behavior.
>I'll get physically violent out if game if I have to
If you aren't bullshitting, report yourself to the nearest authority figure and tell them that you're a danger to yourself and others. Failing that, suicide.
He's a mixed race zoomer who is posting from his phone while he's at school, of course he has poor impulse control.
I'm 33, live on my own, and make 122k/year working on an oil rig. Your argument is invalid. How fricking hard is it to get ACTUAL help for this problem player?
More like working an oiled nig am I right you underage moron
Not an option on either. I'm genuinely trying to correct this player.
correct yourself by deleting this thread and discontinuing accessing Ganker until your 18th birthday,
Also lurk moar, preferably for over 9000 years before you post.
>If you aren't bullshitting
Come ON homie.
It seems ro state on the Wiki that Bahamut hates violence unless it is absolutely necessary and encourages his followers to use diplomacy first, only fighting when it will not work. Otherwise they do not diplomacise with those following Tiamat or evil dragons, settling it with violence and only violence. I guess he is doing right by bahamut but using diplomacy.

OP you are clearly DESPERATE for attention.
When you get home ask your mom if there's a chore you can help her with. Tell her you want to spend some one on one time with her. She'll appreciate it and you'll feel better.
have a nice day, because he's 1000X the player you are.
>taking bait
ishygddt
Whatever, I'm done. This place still resorts to juvenile playground insults. I'm the one at fault for believing Ganker would be a bastion of anything morally decent.
LUL! EPIC!!!
You were leaving twenty three posts ago. Hurry up.
He can't leave, not while he's getting (you)'s
>He's Lawful good, by the rules he's supposed to fight and kill evil, no matter what.
You have autism.
The cute girl who's a big eater but does not get fat is one of my favorite anime tropes.

leave the table, you'll both be happier
Be honest, how many of you posted before you realized OP was being satirical?
I'm still not 100% convinced, it's possible there is some moron like him out there.
This isn't a website with upvotes, your oh so clever bait is just gonna have people calling you moronic
or you actually believe this stuff and play this way in which case you are moronic
either way pic related
I've never been to reddit. What is it?
You stuck that landing beautifully and became my favourite troll, that was beautiful.
You don’t, and your understanding of Alignment is fundamentally flawed especially in 5E where no one can actually detect alignment. Yeah you can detect the presence of fiends and undead and celestials and fey, but not a person’s believed or practiced alignment.
Furthermore, the Frost Giants are a superior force in the Bryn Shandor encounter. By doing this, the Paladin managed to achieve the least amount of bloodshed in a circumstance that would have seen the walled city sieged without time to build up resources.
Your party’s paladin of Bahamut did the Lawful Good action, further kept to their word and managed to treat fairly and precent the city from suffering.
You, in your own presentation of events, sound like you’re a massive killjoy.
>He's Lawful good, by the rules he's supposed to fight and kill evil, no matter what
This is total bullshit, also frick you and your shit bait making me respond
Also how does the fighter know they are evil......what is evil, frick i hate G.N.E. type aliment bullshitery
>He's Lawful good, by the rules he's supposed to fight and kill evil, no matter what.
This is wrong and merely the first of many errors in your thinking.
>Outside of cleric and paladin characters CANNOT actively worship God's according to the rules.
The second error and incredibly false. All characters of any class can worship gods, and even clerics can worship other gods besides the one they have devoted themselves too. They just dont get anything special for doing it beyond the expected societal and afterlife rewards. It is in fact expected that everyone worships multiple gods ala ancient polytheist societies.
>he rarely mentions his god, rarely shows his holy symbol, and isn't trying to Bible thump.
Youve confused evangelical shitwits for someone who is religious and isnt a fricking cleric. I'm beginning to suspect you are one of those low intelligence types.
>I'm 33, live on my own, and make 122k/year working on an oil rig.
Yep, low intelligence type who trades hard physical labor for money instead of using their brain. My youngest brother is the very same and about the same age too, and he's not terribly intelligent. At least the second youngest used his brains to go up the ladder and escape the labor.
Plainly, youre fricking wrong, the player you hate is playing right, and youre just stupid.
No, I mostly do the paperwork. If I did the labor I'd be making twice as much.
>He's Lawful good, by the rules he's supposed to fight and kill evil, no matter what.
No he's not. You're a fricking idiot.
Even if Lawful Good mandated this (it doesn't) and even if alignment was prescriptive rather than descriptive (it isn't), he's not a Paladin or similar, so he is in no way beholden to his current alignment in any way whatsoever.
>5e
Shit taste.
I can't tell if anons here are legitimately taking the obvious bait or intentionally taking the obvious bait.
>So, I need help. We are doing a 5e game
Yeah you do. Play a different edition or another game. Problem solved.
>He's Lawful good, by the rules he's supposed to fight and kill evil, no matter what.
No, that's not what lawful good is
>The GM allowed this.

You are the problem player in your group.
