If you're familiar with the typical functions (rushdown, zoner, grappler, neutral/footsies) they're all turned up to 11 so you really feel oppressive or oppressed in the game. It's not without its defensive plays (though guard cancel should cost less meter) so you don't feel completely helpless most of the time. You can use your grey life as sacrifice to roman cancel so to speak to either make a string safe, continue your combo game, etc. It's kusoge but a fun kusoge.
nawt really, somehow more kusoge than strive
if you dont mind the game being dead in 3 weeks like granblue and melty recently go for it, it might be fun for another week or so
every new SF release kills any fighting games momentum and it's always been this way. weird of you to just bring the game up out of nowhere but it's the truth
>G-guys th-this is totally the Strive killer just like the other x amount of fighting game releases were too!!! This time for sure!!
i don't even care about games being X killer but you're just being ignorant or haven't been around fighting games long enough to realize how much of a name SF is and how on every release, almost all fighting game players from all backgrounds come back to at least give the game a shot for a while. you honestly can't say that about any other fighting game in the scene but keep being insecure about your game dude.

I would agree with you guys if the visuals didn't look so uncanny, realistic graphics for sf were a mistake and they should have gone the Strive route. Another W for Strive Chads, oh and don't forget we don't know how the rollback will be kek.

>don't play an anime fighting game that will lose most of its playerbase in a month from now, play unpopular PvP that suffers from exploits and lags in a western version of Korean MMO that already lost most of its playerbase
moron
I had a lot of fun with it so far, easy to pick up and play with friends . Combos are a bit long for my taste though, hate getting clipped from across the screen and having to put down my controller for 10 seconds
DNF will be dead within the month, just like KOF
Not enough steam and the gameplay is extremely kusoge
We're talking easy to execute low meter TOD combos
If they're smart they'll cool off and just spend a couple years working on only Strive and DNF instead of splitting their workforce again, but they're clearly moronic so probably another fighting game adaptation of some other gacha.
I didn't like it.
There's basically no neutral in this game, everyone is moving with attacks, there's a general lack of purpose for each move and the magic system becomes a non issue so the meter management isn't particularly interesting, it's only about using it for conversion.
The confirms and the combos are extremely easy, though there is probably some sweaty variations for thougher characters, meaning you don't really want to take too many chances moving around.
The existence of the block buttons negates left right mixups, and the throws do so little damage that coupled with the walk speed they're not really a threat to be feared, it's all about using high lows and instant overhead and throwing the longest blockstring possible in your opponents face.
To give you a general idea the average walkspeed in this game is probably a bit lower than Nash in SFV, and most characters have fullscreen attacks you can often combos into, so the "mash rather than walk" philosophy was probably intended.
That take a way a lot of uniqueness to the characters.
I think my main point is that one button DP + Most moves having gigantic hitboxes + Easy confirms with easy high damage combos + Sluggish walkspeed + Minimal throw damage = No real neutral.
If you're the kind of guy who plays Bison and do not care much for neutral, love taking turns and looking at weird and obscure tech on the internet you may like it.
If you're playing Chun or any other characters, you'll probably hate it.
No one expected this game to kill strive.
But it is fun in its own way.
Its Gran-blue versus done right.
Its easy to learn game but has a lot of depth.
As much as anything else. Which is to say for the first week you can matchmake into other OCE players, but in about a week's time, you'll need Discord for low ping matches, or else you will play against only SEA/JP when all the OCE players have quit
t. NZ, getting sub 100 ping matches for the first time in the past year of playing Strive
Peak moron fun, if you're interested, get in now.
Combos are as satisfying as they can be fricking moronic, and it's funny how many anons shittalking the simple special inputs(worse option that spends more meter) that got filtered rapidly by the combo trials.
its super fun and balanced in an "if everyone is broken then no one is broken" kind of way
so the game becomes a true fundamentals fight
you lose neutral you get chunked for at least a third of your health, lose again and now you have the comeback mechanic of your character activated giving you a possibility to 2 touch the enemy but if get combo'd one more time and you lose
everyone has a dodge, everyone has a dp, everyone has a defensive option, and the simple inputs mean you arent going to win because of a miniscule mistake your opponent makes causing them to drop a combo
ironically the draw that its easy to get into this game made the skill floor much higher than usual because even a player with shit micro can just outspace you and you lose
the "this game has easy inputs so anyone can combo in this game!" means that even at rhe shitter level ranks players arent going to drop bnb combos where a normal fighter the shitter level is full of overtly bad play
it's the same reason why Tekken pro players will tell you SFV is harder than Tekken. Limited and/or easier options means that there is less room for errors or sloppy play.
whats your definition of a shoto?
if you mean the martial arts anime guy then yes
if you mean fireball, dragon punch, and tatsu then not really, everyone has a dp but only a handful have projectiles and none of them have an advancing magic skill
nah
3rd worlders will tell you it's shit because they can't buy it (like when a game is not on PC and they can't pirate it)
what's it like though, I've heard some stuff about the systems and idk what to think

you could pirate it and play multiplayer the second it came out
nawt really, somehow more kusoge than strive
if you dont mind the game being dead in 3 weeks like granblue and melty recently go for it, it might be fun for another week or so
Granblue might be dead but it's fricking good. That's a pity most humans have shit tastes
Its not an amazing game but its way better than DNF, sure
the pity is noone wants to play a good game with shitty netcode, not people's taste. should've been rollback
>gbvs = good
it's shit, cygames killed the game with their shitty balance updates and the last one was the worst
The roster felt like a couple favorites and a buncha nobodies so I fricked off
Let’s not pretend GBVS didn’t do a bunch of moronic shit for a long while even without mentioning rollback.
>2d anime fighter
Hard yawn
Well, im not gonna play some NRS dogshit am I
There's more to this world than nrs and anime anon
I see the world in black and white, and I like anime fighters and I hate NRS so that's all that exists
I am sorry colorblind man
>mentions NRS out of nowhere
Obsessed
Okay, and homie?
there is really no reason to play dnf while strive is still alive
Strive is really bad. Bland and its characters are uninteresting. Plus it takes eternity to start
if those are your concerns, its not like dnf addresses any of that lol
Not even your shitty SF6 will kill Strive, keep seething
Oh I highly doubt Strive survives SF6.
Outside of your bubble (Ganker, Reddit, Resetera), nobody plays Strive. Everyone knows Street Fighter
*Just like trannies are a thing on the internet but don't exist in real life.
My roommate started dating a troony and I kicked him out lmao
>G-guys th-this is totally the Strive killer just like the other x amount of fighting game releases were too!!! This time for sure!!
There's no need to "kill" Strive as it's one of the underdogs. It's already "dead"
i don't even care about games being X killer but you're just being ignorant or haven't been around fighting games long enough to realize how much of a name SF is and how on every release, almost all fighting game players from all backgrounds come back to at least give the game a shot for a while. you honestly can't say that about any other fighting game in the scene but keep being insecure about your game dude.

SF6 is hecking reddit, I agree.
People can play multiple games anon.
Strive won't survive the shitty S2 patch let alone the release of a titan like SF6 lmfao what? game literally killed itself a month ago
I don't care about it "dying." With crossplay there will be decent matches until the end of time.
>Strive won't survive
Back to plebbit
every new SF release kills any fighting games momentum and it's always been this way. weird of you to just bring the game up out of nowhere but it's the truth
>Bland and its characters are uninteresting
Do you even look at dnf duel? literal the generic shounenshit guide book
it's dead
Nah.
Play DFO PvP instead.
I don't really know much about Dungeon and fighters, what is it actually about?
>don't play an anime fighting game that will lose most of its playerbase in a month from now, play unpopular PvP that suffers from exploits and lags in a western version of Korean MMO that already lost most of its playerbase
moron
with the DNFd speed its barely an anime fighting game, its like castrated mutilated son of street fighter and smash
I'd say it's more like low level 2d Tekken.
Consensus is, it isn't great but I still wanna see what it's like
So when I refund it, what shit should I pick up on $79?
I had a lot of fun with it so far, easy to pick up and play with friends . Combos are a bit long for my taste though, hate getting clipped from across the screen and having to put down my controller for 10 seconds
It would be good if it was on gamepass, but not for $50
It's a reskinned Guilty Gear, but it's worse
You never played Guilty Gear
Black person Black person Black person
I would love to try it but that price tag
pirate it
you can even play it online with fellow pirates
Its $50, at least it isn't 60 or 70 on ps5.
I had GS dosh, so mine was free.
It's fun, i kinda like that the characters are classes and not an actual character with a name.
DNF will be dead within the month, just like KOF
Not enough steam and the gameplay is extremely kusoge
We're talking easy to execute low meter TOD combos
doomposters are getting sweaty
So what's Arcsys's next meme gonna be? A blazblue with the new 3d artstyle or another adapted IP?
GG X BB
Technically it's an eighting game published by Arcsys.
FighterZ 2
If they're smart they'll cool off and just spend a couple years working on only Strive and DNF instead of splitting their workforce again, but they're clearly moronic so probably another fighting game adaptation of some other gacha.
Dnf is not developed by ArcSystem
arc only published the game. 8ting is the developer
It's pretty fun, remains to be seen if it replaces Strive
It's good but scrubs and poors will tell you otherwise
I didn't like it.

Is there an Aussie scene for it?

GBVS >> DBFZ > DNF > Strive
They're all shit, everything at and after Crosstag has been shit. I fricking hate this new direction
Peak moron fun, if you're interested, get in now.
Combos are as satisfying as they can be fricking moronic, and it's funny how many anons shittalking the simple special inputs(worse option that spends more meter) that got filtered rapidly by the combo trials.
Utterly soulless game for coomers and zoomers
Ah I get it now. The negative reviews come from Strivegays who feel threatened by this gem
>Lose to Berserker
>Full second of zoom in to his smile
FRICK YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU

Are there any shotos in DNF? I don't care for anime swordsmen or women that speak.
whats your definition of a shoto?
if you mean the martial arts anime guy then yes
if you mean fireball, dragon punch, and tatsu then not really, everyone has a dp but only a handful have projectiles and none of them have an advancing magic skill
>shoto
Fireball, DP, and a forward-momentum special. Think I'll pick up Phantom Breaker instead
Depends, where do you land on this chart?
Ibuki
Ghostblade
Do cmd grabs, or at least Berserker's command grab have no throw invul? I thought they generally beat regular throws
I've only heard about grapplers command grabs being throw invuln
