What do you mean by this? That GW will stop caring about proxies or non-GW models?
If so, just play with people that aren't miserable GW gays.
Scalpers tend to focus on stuff with massive hype that is expected to have limited supply. Compare that Disney card game that came out a couple months back to the average MtG release for another good example of this.

Why do people talk about these two games like they are in competition?
One is a high fantasy skirmish game with some ridiculous sculpts and some lovely ones, and the most poorly expressed lore in history. Would be better if they went all in on the weirdo environment terrain. If you were rating Sigmar gf, she is flashy and kooky and sometimes embarrassing but surprises you sometimes. It's like a big arena, fancy magicks kind of game.
The other is a low to middle fantasy rank and flank game where regiments of 5-20plus figures represent the flashpoints or business end of large formations of models in a 28mm gaming environment of hamlets and wooded hills. Models are aged bordering on decrepit and rules overstated stemming from multiple sources but it still manages to channel retro appeal. WHFB is an older woman, a fee visible lines but with a softness, an experience and confident warmth Sigmarette lacks.
In 18-36 months they will both change drastically and you will lose money, lots of money anyway.
Play Oathmark.picrel is 30 figs for $30 usdish
The answer is that siggypiggies are weird trannies from a communist subreddit who have tied their identity to this game's success and the existence of TOW is physically painful for them. No one who cares about fantasy even thinks about sigmar except when they endlessly astroturf the board with crying about how people like models they can use in an actual wargame and don't care about 500 gazillion details on the new ushoran model only 200 dollars.

They make a good model now and then. But I would rather see that applied to makking more whfb
>I dont think anyone is going to want to buy old ass minis
Black person, that is the whole appeal to me, pretty much all GW miniatures I buy are either as old as 7th edition or older.
The only exceptions are the 4 good looking kits from the AOS cow elves, or WHFB->AOS port armies like night goblin/daughters of khaine whos sculpts make for great unit variation in WHFB armies.
Frick the broken porcelain sprues of modern GW, where you have to glue together 10 parts to make a ""dynamic"" model before you can start converting by sawing and cutting the models up.
The WL Landsknechts might fit, but stuff like their Caesarian and Imperial Romans don't even fit each other in scale, so always do thorough research on their scale between their ranges.

That's where you're wrong. I jumped at the chance to get TK after over a decade of it being overpriced second-hand stuff. now it's at least overpriced retail stuff still on the sprue. I'm salivating at finally having the mummy army i've wanted for so long.
>I jumped at the chance to get TK after over a decade of it being overpriced second-hand stuff. now it's at least overpriced retail stuff still on the sprue.
Same, and with the prices nib or just sprues with some parts not glued onto models already went for, I could have be doing coke and banging b***hes for a hobby instead.
I can still order peg knights, the bsb and stalkers from my lgs and another one posted last week they still had army boxes available. The game isn't sold out even with such low production numbers, another of my local stores posted beforehand they were getting 0 stock but still had everything up as sold out on their store page that morning.
It probably already raked in more cash than WHFB did during its last 5 years.
It was the correct decision to discontinue WHFB back then but GW is in so much stronger position now and they will know how to succesfully sell this product.
This is not really exemplified by what they are currently doing, it's pretty much a ripoff at this point, an overpriced self parody in dire need of updated rank and file.
Make some new starters akin to 40k and Sigmar and they will know what they are doing.
40K and WHFB weren't selling anything 10 years ago because the prices were too high and it was a niche hobby for autistic people. Fantasy and 40K have secondaries who buy Kill Teams to glue together because there is a whole ecosystem of Warhammer youtubers and popular Warhammer videogames and twitchgays now that didn't exist then. Loretubers, rumortubers, official channels, painttubers, modelingtubers. There's a whole world of shit that blew up to the tertiary audience. And then the quaternary audience who only knows warhammer from le funny memes on le ddit.
GW is not successful from their own efforts because they are 60 IQ boomers whose brains were destroyed by the cocaine they did in the 1980s. GW is successful because of a highly autistic fanbase of Gen Xers in their 40s and 50s who spent years and years memeing warhammer until it became popular and the millennials in their 20s and 30s who nostalgiagay about DoW and the zoomer teens who love tiktoks about sexy elf girls and iron hands' iron hands and DA GROODGE.
It like a week in we would have to need more time to see if people actually continue to buy & play the the game rather it just selling out because it WHF revival hype + two faction once gone long gone returning
right now it making more money then it ever did in WHF so that good. Bretonnia doing very good while TK struggling hard like only the Ubshati, Settra & Stalkers is sold out
not to mention hard to gage as GW had no confidence on this as there supply shortage for this.
Best wait until half the core faction release to actually make decision
I despise GW's codex creep. "Legacy Factions"? Sounds like bullshit.
I have no idea why WoC, DoC and Beastmen are separate armies. Just roll the frickers into one.
TK and VCs are the two standard fantasy ascetics for Undead. The concept for both is essentially the same: powerful necromancer has hordes, but the two have very different ascetics.
Similar to Elves: Good v Bad. Probably don't need HE and WE and DE. Roll entire WEs into both HE and DE.
I'd find it hard to argue with the Bret/Empire, they are similar enough to be cut from the same cloth. But Chaos Dwarfs and Dwarfs have different ascetics and alignment. You're taking the piss on that one.
The Chaos Dwarfs don't work towards the same goals as the rest of Chaos (the destruction of humanity) and neither do they worship the four great Chaos Gods.

So that each army may be fleshed out with new units. Also, the Beastmen have very little in common with the WoC regarding their looks.

These are shitposts but thinking about how TWW introduced the concept that chaos dwarfs are seeking to harness the power of the Blood of Hashut to nuke Dwarf cities off the map, it makes you wonder why GW is writing new lore for Chaos Dwarfs if they have no intention of ever using them.
The Dark Lands are on the official ToW map, that is a dead giveaway. I expect new Chorf models and TW Chorf DLC featuring those models to drop at the same time in 2026 or so.

Tell me you don't know TK lore without telling me you don't know TK Lore.
The only person in that whole army who knows dark magic or Necromancy is Arkhan and he's shtick is that he is the last old out for the dark lord and everyone tacitly just allows him to chill because power speaks.
either way, thats a success. If management thought it was profetable enough to even give it the go ahead, then the distribution team should have been informed by it, so it should be a success internally.
unless GW is actually so moronic that they didnt have projections of sales match up with distribution.
it was designed to clear out old stock and move what new product they did want to make for it, which it did, so it's a success
Or a sign that they really lowballed the initial production run.
they have been lowballing a lot of their production for a while. Better to sell out completely than have warehouses of unsold product, given that they have very limited production capabilities in the UK and their china facilities, which they use for bases and terrain, had serious quality issues for some time.
>old stock
Yeah, I’m sure this multi-billion dollar company came up with a major release because they found two palets of unsold tomb kings in the back of the warehouse. Unreal how dumb this narrative is hth
As one of the annoying grognard superfans who harassed GW on social media weekly for years until ToW was announced, I think it was a smashing success.
The rules look legit. Reissued old sculpts are kino. The "archaic" rules presentation is fricking sick as frick and I laugh at all the nuGW nuFans who have been complaining about them.
We're SO back, bros. Grogs won. And the community is comfy as frick because the toxic shitters that infest 40k, AoS, and Kill Team gatekeep themselves.
I haven't seen anyone discuss the rules, only if they can proxy them for AoS somehow, so it might sell, but doens't seam like it will get a playerbase at least here
Once reality hits of needing to wait XXX amount of years for "updated" old moulds, the obscene cost of entry and need to 3-d print or ebay hunt, things will revert as it was.
I was hyped on TOW too, but quickly got a reality check when I considered how much additional money I'd need to spend. Not to mention the inevitable meta game to emerge.
The best judgement for me is if they keep adding the odd refreshed unit over the next three or so years. Some sculpts perhaps just an upgrade sprue or new options.
Ultimately if I am happy with some older historical kits I should be happy with this, but the price should be similar.
Why do people talk about these two games like they are in competition?
One is a high fantasy skirmish game with some ridiculous sculpts and some lovely ones, and the most poorly expressed lore in history. Would be better if they went all in on the weirdo environment terrain. If you were rating Sigmar gf, she is flashy and kooky and sometimes embarrassing but surprises you sometimes. these are ok skeletons, i usually replace the skulls with GW ones from the skulls box, but they aren't fully egyptian enough for me.
I bought one mantic skeleton set to see how they are, and they look like shit. no surprise there. Can't speak to their rules but mantic's models are pretty garbage. At least they aren't charging the same for most of their crap.
>I-I don't even care man >BUT STOP BUYING WARHAMMER FANTASY OKAY?
Lol. Lmao. This is your life now. Crying online people like a thing you don't. Total Autist Death.

Yeah yeah, shut your key lime piehole, typical /misc/tard, can't live in a universe where anybody could possibly disagree with him. You're just having a wank to everyone else while jnternally you're going off your rocker because someone deigned to suggest an alternative. You just come across like a fricking lunatic and if I ever met you, I would probably just cross the street to get away from you. You're a grown fricking man for frick's sake. Work it out.
First you're going to want to replace those shitty Bretonnian shields on the levy with some late medieval European mercenary pavises.
Has it been considered that gee dubs purposely omitted popular factions like Skaven to whip up fury online so they can add them later to fanfare from the community because "they listened to us!" With the popularity of games like Total Warhammer and Vermintide I don't see any good reason why they would omit them.
Sounds a little too convoluted for GW. Generally whenever they do something questionable the answer is incompetence, lack of communication between departments, unreasonable demands from corporate, or all of them.
Also good. I am nit telling you not to buy wh, but I would be looking at kitbashing those older models and using unit fillers, KOW style, sorry to say. If I didn't consider hundreds of dollsrs on warhammer wasteful, that is.
I think it would be a greater success if they released new factions. Kislev has been teased for years, and it's a good addition; another good release would be the Daughters of Khaine.
If you have fun painting and playing dont worry about what everyone else thinks.
If you are trying to get laid you should ditch this crap and join a local sports team.
>check local shop >ten TK boxes in stock at 15% below MSRP >dozens of other misc TOW sets >meanwhile KT Salvation sold out nearly instantly >expect the DA boxset to also sell out

Imagine reading those lol. It's part of the scam, ie if GW is doing well, somehow your game hinges on that.
The fact that over 80% of the product for it was sold out day 1, I would consider that a financial success.

We're SO back, bros. Grogs won. And the community is comfy as frick because the toxic shitters that infest 40k, AoS, and Kill Team gatekeep themselves.
>is fricking sick as frick and I laugh at all the nuGW nuFans who have been complaining about them.
Depends on how they play. Warhammer is familiar which is why people like it, not because the rules are incredible. Nice when they are a little chaotic
>grognard superfan
>supports nu-GW
>gives one shit about 'le old world'
Frick off back to youtube newbie loreshitter
I haven't seen anyone discuss the rules, only if they can proxy them for AoS somehow, so it might sell, but doens't seam like it will get a playerbase at least here
It sold fast af
Hype is huge
Rules seem great
>Is it a success
Yea man, don't see how it could be more successful at this point
It seems to be selling well, but I'm not really seeing a lot of the buzz I would expect from the launch of a new game.
The large base sizes were a mistake.
Nah, it was a welcome change and a natural progression.
How are dwarfs looking in this game? Working on a grimdwarf army
In what year does the action happen exactly?
2279?
Piles of unsold 3rd edition AOS boxes
>Tthis Is NOT a FAiLuRe!
WFB Sold out in preorder
>THIS IS NoT A SUccUSS!!!
You guys are memeing right? Siggy piggies can't actually be this dense, right? Right?
>stores get 200 AoS boxes
>stores get 2 tOw boxes
>some still take days to sell TK stuff despite the laughable stock
>siggypiggy seethe
>The other is a low to middle fantasy
stopped reading here, just shut up moron.
This post already ended the thread. No need to respond further.
It's fricking gross that they just rot instead of giving them to schools and libraries etc
And here are some Wargames Atlantic d00ds
what is this an image for ants?
Yep actual scale. If you wash them they will become 1 to 1 in the sun
these are ok skeletons, i usually replace the skulls with GW ones from the skulls box, but they aren't fully egyptian enough for me.
I bought one mantic skeleton set to see how they are, and they look like shit. no surprise there. Can't speak to their rules but mantic's models are pretty garbage. At least they aren't charging the same for most of their crap.
Here is le Kings of War box with Undeads and Zogres. Circa 90 usd
There it is again, the siggypiggy pretending to be a kings of war player because he's shitting bricks and begging people not to buy tomb kings.
Nah not me, you buy em if you want em. I have zero investment in Aos, I can't even wrap my head around the lore. Maybe less panzershokolade for you
>I-I don't even care man
>BUT STOP BUYING WARHAMMER FANTASY OKAY?
Lol. Lmao. This is your life now. Crying online people like a thing you don't. Total Autist Death.
You've got an actual centipede in your anus.
This is literally something someone with autism like Chris-chan would say. You need to be institutionalized, you are cancerous to normal people trying to enjoy a fricking model game you deranged little moron.
First you're going to want to replace those shitty Bretonnian shields on the levy with some late medieval European mercenary pavises.
>zogres
Imagine stealing from fricking RuneScape of all things
Same for goblos and stinkrats
These stinkrats are bigger and betterer
And you're allowed to have spoopy elbs and gumble dworbs
Whoops tiny
And you see Oathmark Orcs keeping the LOTR going
15 wolf riders for under 50 bux
Choice is good
I wonder if Marjorie has calmed down yet, was nearly handbags at 20 paces in here
I think it would be a greater success if they released new factions. Kislev has been teased for years, and it's a good addition; another good release would be the Daughters of Khaine.
If they don't release a Putin inspired model they don't understand their market. AoS can get Anders Fogh Rasmussen or someone like thatl
If you have fun painting and playing dont worry about what everyone else thinks.
If you are trying to get laid you should ditch this crap and join a local sports team.
>sportsgays ever getting laid
highly doubtful. more of a lateral move.
ok, since you clearly did not understand what I said, I guess you should just assume and not clarify cuz thats so much smarter.
hey what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room
>check local shop
>ten TK boxes in stock at 15% below MSRP
>dozens of other misc TOW sets
>meanwhile KT Salvation sold out nearly instantly
>expect the DA boxset to also sell out
idk
The amount of shitposting over this has been unreal.
