>game has to force all these characters to have tons of screen time to make them "likeable" >meanwhile XY managed to introduce its friend group instantly and keep them all distinct and fun
Yeah, I'm thinking Kalos wins here.
>evil team being evil is bad
What
Also you didn’t answer me, even if you don’t understand Platinum I don’t give a shit explain how the story in SV is better than BW
I'm talking about the scene whey they kick that Munna or whatever. That shit was fricking moronic. The thing is that they seemed morally grey at first which was interesting, and then the story shits its pants and goes "haha guess what they are just the plain old shitty people like the all previous evil teams lol"
SV has a great setup with the Raidon's which immediately sets up a mystery that you are curious to find more about. Then you have fleshes out side characters like Arven who is related to the finale, but also has his own thing going on. Like he has a personality other than being the professor's son, and you have to get to him first before you find that out. I kinda missed this with N, who had a similar role but ultimatively just felt a like a plot device.
I also liked the twist that Team Star is actually not antagonistic. Team Yell tried something similar but failed tremendously, so it was nice to see it properly executed.
Then there's the whole mystery around Paradox Pokémon and Area Zero that keeps being teased throughout the game. Area Zero itself delivers very well, it's a very otherworldly area with great music that is fit for all the stuff they teased. (This is where SM failed, for example). And additionally to that, you also have the 3 main npcs of the game interact with each other, which is both fun and feels like intertwining all 3 story lines into a finale.
The twist with the professor was cool too. The only reason I didn't see it coming is cause I thought they just had shitty animations due to GFs incompetence lol
It all builds up to a great and pretty difficult final fight, or two technically speaking. I know a lot of people didn't like how scripted the Raidon fight felt, but I thought it was neat as a little extra. Really liked the way they used UI elements that broke the 4th wall a little.
why do people still think team plasma being evil was ever intended to be a twist or would improve the plot in any way
they do this exact twist in sun/moon with the aether foundation (even as far as making team skull the red herring group) and it worked there because that was a major aspect of lusamine's plot
frankly it doesn't matter if the player knows if team plasma is evil, because team plasma is able to keep making propaganda and tricking people despite it. if anything, the twist is kinda the opposite: you expect N to be in on the whole "evil team" shit because it's so overplayed, but you learn he's just some innocent kid groomed into being prince of an evil empire by ghetsis, and taught to hate trainers only because he interacted with abused pokemon his entire childhood. N being a good/neutral guy at the end is a way cooler twist than "this group of people spreading propaganda going against pokemon's themes are... le bad!?"
eitiher way SV still has the best character writing of the bunch, and not having a proper team in the game really helps it feel fresh and made the ending a lot more exciting and climactic.
Friend groups in pokemon are fricking moronic, pokemon is supposed to be an adventure where you explore the world with your pokemon. Your team is your friend group, not a bunch of twitter homosexuals/dykes/carlitas
They can, they do all the time.
Kirlia starts underperforming due to enemies getting stronger but then it evolves and becomes my ace for a while. That’s a character arc.
Magnezone unexpectedly lives an Earthquake that I failed to predict, and then lands a crit to one shot the foe. That’s communication, and I don’t need amie casualization garbage to tell me that.
you know exploring the world entails... meeting people, right? in fact, going to different places, solving people's problems, and learning about those people to the point that you become friends is like, writing 101 for adventure stories.
Yes but it can be just that, people you interact with once. No need for a recurrent friend group. That just makes the world seems more safe, which is shit for adventure settings.
i think that's just personal preference at that point. i get what you mean, there's an intensity and excitement to facing big challenges and seeing things by yourself for the first time, and i can imagine someone being annoyed that they have to go through area zero with other people.
that being said this kind of writing is very common and stuff like shonen anime. i mean frick's sake just look at one piece, luffy recruits homies just cause they're funny looking.
PLA is a lot more solo focused since the premise kinda keeps other characters from interfering in the exploration, and i think that's also exciting in its own right. just kinda depends on what you like better.
Yeah
>playing Mario Kart 8
These "friends" are worthless zoomers. Why don't they play real games like OpenRails or SuperTuxKart?
>SuperTuxKart
Obviously Penny homebrewed her switch and has it downloaded.
Is it even a contest?
Considering how few friend groups there actually are in the franchise, this isn’t much of a surprise.
Yeah
Original Trio from Anipoke says hi.
>game has to force all these characters to have tons of screen time to make them "likeable"
>meanwhile XY managed to introduce its friend group instantly and keep them all distinct and fun
Yeah, I'm thinking Kalos wins here.
nobody remembers any of them besides maybe Shauna
XY managed to introduce its friend group instantly and keep them all distinct and fun
Too bad they failed to give them personalities.
>fat dancer
>nerd
>girl
all the personalities you need
Shauna and the rival are the only memorable ones
The fat frick and the other one are literal who tier with absolute dogshit designs and personalities
I don’t remember any of them outside of Shauna and that’s only because of her porn
kalosperm coping. i don't even remember their names besides serena and shauna.
Wonderful bait, take your (You).
Brown dicky was the only good one there
Most trooned out and annoying*
Most obsessed and annoying
What's with the moronic shills trying to force the "SV has good writing meme" when it's dogshit?
>What's with the moronic shills trying to force the "SV has good writing meme"
Because it does returd
Lolno.
>Non argument
Lolyes.
Keep coping moron.
>STILL no argument
You're the one coping here
>Still mad SV has shit writing.
Lmao
>Still mad
But enough about you
And now you're projecting.
>Calls other mad
>Calls people out for projecting
Are all /vp/erdents always this dumb?
I'm not but clearly you are especially since you're upset SVs writing isn't good.
Why i should be mad about something that isn't true? are mentally challenged anon? i suggest to take a break
You might not think the writing in SV is good, but it still mogs any other Pokemon entry
How is it better than BW and Platinum
>Platinum
>good
Looolll
BW would've been fine if they didn't make it extremely obvious from the start that Team Plasma was evil
>evil team being evil is bad
What

SwSh friend groups mogs your shitty characters hard.
SWSHIT doesn't have a group of friends and they barely even talk to each other kek
Are you moronic lol? Gloria, Hop, Marnie and Bede all interact
>Saying two lines to each other once or twice is character interaction
Do swshitters really?
But enough about SV.
You Clearly didn't play the game
SWSH vs SV
battle of morons!
>Gaylargays are still seething over scarlet and violet you just love to see it
Where's Florian? Don't you know both protagonists are canon despite only one being in game?
Yes, because it's the first time they actually tried.
Also imagine the group sex.
Friend groups in pokemon are fricking moronic, pokemon is supposed to be an adventure where you explore the world with your pokemon. Your team is your friend group, not a bunch of twitter homosexuals/dykes/carlitas
Your team can't talk to you or have character arcs
They can, they do all the time.

I want to play pokemon not fricking one piece
Yes, by far. I love them so much, I would personally hug each and everyone in that picture until my arms broke.
Too many females it feels like an isekai self insert crap
Are you moronic? The story relevant characters that grow closest to (You) are male.
Don't forget your bestfriend Drayton
Drayton amd Kieran teasing each other in the club room is pretty nice no hard feelings
