Yep and I am ok with it
No it's not. There can only be one or two Genshin Impacts because there are only so many games that people can actively play. Back in the early 2010s we were promised the end of single player games and yet here we are.
moron
I said it before and I'll say it again:
All the developers attempting or planning to attempt to copy Genshin Impact are completely missing the point of what made it successful. They assume they can just attract degenerate gamblers to their game without actually having a decent game to attract them to. Genshin is visually appealing in every aspect from the world to the characters. Western devs will attempt this but try to inject identity politics into it and then wonder why their shit failed so miserably where Genshin succeeded.
Gamers seek attractive characters and environments and will seek it out whether it's in a regular video game or a gacha game.
I think this is a half truth.
All depend of the wales. The Diablo gacha is still around.
>decent game
>proceeds to describe the visuals
There's no decent game, and it's not like the average gacha player would know what a decent game is. morons are simply attracted to shiny things.
As this thread shown the only people who want more gacha games are coomers who don't care about gameplay.
That's not true. I came for the gameplay at first and stayed for the cooming
Yes, aesthetics are on of the things that can attract people to your product
Does not a decent game make.
>They assume they can just attract degenerate gamblers to their game without actually having a decent game to attract them to.
Fookin 'ell
Monopoly is weird. I addition to D&D and Magic the Gathering it is one of literally three things that make Hasbro any money.
I got no idea who the frick is buying all those new Monopoly board games and all the Monopoly digital adaptations, but normalgays seem to still fricking love it.
Normalgays collect Monopoly variations like they collect Funko Pops. Not even kidding. They don’t play the game, they just see that Walmart has a shiny new Star Wars “Mandaloriopoly” and they mouth gape for it.
>slopshin sloppact
>visually appealing
the absolute fricking state of gachaBlack folk
>NOOOO THIS IS NOT VISUALLY APPEALING
>WHERE ARE MY EPIC DARK FANTASY ENVIRONMENTS
>WHERE ARE MY EPIC DARK SOULS WHOLESOMERINO RUINS
>THIS IS NOT VERY POGGERS
Reminds me of that redditor who has a mental breakdown when he enters a forested area
This is true.
There are already other live service games in the west that serve the same role as Genshin Impact, as whale milking simulator forever games. The biggest being GTAO and Fortnite. You can't simply copy Genshin 1:1 and expect to succeed.
I was marginally interested in the new honkai but I decided to not even bother since I already have one live service slop game to maintain. The new age of gatcha will follow the same trajectory of mmos after world of warcraft. None of them will ever beat it and burn out in a few months.
And then it still went on to become a huge hit making your argument pointless
>Mobile gacha
>Still has more quality and passion than most AAA today
If it give us quality games then so be it
has more quality and passion than most AAA today
Good one anon.
Let me guess, the only type of game you play besides shitty gachas is Tetris.
Genshin shits on Dragon's Dogshit 2 kek. They couldn't bother with 120fps support and yet it's STILL better optimized by a thousand miles with superior gameplay.
>superior gameplay
Still better than NPCs who appear 2 feet in front of you (that cause a cpu bottleneck LMFAO)
One is an optimization issue that can be fixed
The other is shit game design issue that will never be fixed
Only passion and quality can create women who look as good as Xianyun
all that money and none of it goes back into their games.
That's true for any piggy bank game. It's used to fund other projects because of muh diversification
> all that money and none of it goes back into their games.
Anon, I...
>Small Stealth minigame section doesn't have stealth focused game depth.
What a surprise
Keep giving me girls like these and the entire gaming industry can become gacha live service slop for all I care
Why can't you just get a girlfriend?
>3DPD
>have sex!
Why do you people always resort to this when someone says they want nice visuals that make them erect?
because normalgays are low IQ
Sounds like someone hasn't recruited Rossana. That's too bad anon. Ladies like Rossana are the best.
Steam is bigger. Gabe just by himself is worth something like 7b. Though to be fair, the list this article is going by specifies that it is only judging companies founded after the yr 2000.
Unfortunately yes, hope you have a big enough back log of already released games to last you until death.
If it’s as good as Genshin, I don’t mind.
Genshin is worse than modern ubisoft games and those are already terrible.
>Genshin is worse
A game with women who look like Yelan are instantly better than anything that Ubisoft has put out so far. Hopefully Ubuisoft starts making games with women who look like Yelan. Then, they'll be good too.
>Genshin is worse than modern ubisoft games
Delusional troony
I'd trade any game mechanic and innovation for a cast of characters who look like Noir
>mhy
>private owned
ho ho ho, he he he
Yelan is worth all the mobile gacha live service slop in the world
>Make a 10/10 character
>Give her the perfect kit
>Never give her screen time for 3+ years
I hope we learn more about Kazua's tormented past where he just wanted to wander and his family was fine with it but he still felt bad! So engrossing.
>So, is this the future of video games? Mobile gacha live service slop?
Yes, because in China, mentally unwell people aren't placed in HR departments and they hire based on skills instead of genitals and melanin levels.
Enjoy a declining culture, declining level of technology and thus declining standards of living.
tl;dr enjoy the decline, at least you weren't "-ists" or "-isms"
Man, not answering the question to the person who asked it is in itself autism and a reason to dock points. Who the frick cares about gender at that point.
Kicking out or not hiring competent employees is a luxury you have when you're a wealthy society, but that won't be the case for much longer.
It's not the communism, it's just confucianism at this point, what they call "communism with chinese characteristics".
Is it though? The western HR industry is full of mentally unwell women, who top charts for all sorts of medication use, the top being anti-depressants and are topping charts for mental illnesses too.
And if you were referring to chinese industries hiring based on merit, that's where "tests" came from, they weren't a western invention, just like gunpowder. Testing people and holding exams is a chinese social technology.
I love dragging the seek bar back and forth on this horrendous thing
>"We have the power"
And now that you made that apparent, they're gonna worm their ways into those positions so they have more things they can control, great. Thanks, Karen.
>competent employees
If you can't keep track of who just spoke to you then you are not competent
>Yes, because in China, mentally unwell people aren't placed in HR departments and they hire based on skills instead of genitals and melanin levels.
based communism
>in China, mentally unwell people aren't placed in HR departments and they hire based on skills
This is an insanely idiotic statement.
40% of Mihoyo employees are women
You WILL play enjoyable games with attractive females and little girls in it, and you WILL be happy.
Just not Genshin cause it's shit.
>Gacha
>Enjoyable
They are like an amalgamation of the worst parts of an MMO. Doing your taxes is more enjoyable.
All I need in a game is a girl who looks like Ningguang.
I'd do my taxes early if the forms came with their own Ningguang--even if I had to pay an extra fee for the Ningguang tax companion
You don't need a game then, go look up tranime girl pictures on a hentai or rule34 site or whatever.
>You don't need a game then
That's where you're wrong. What you're suggesting is just looking up still images. What I'm saying is that all games need women like Shenhe here as playable characters or as the primary playable character.
Why make a game at all if it's not going to include women like Shenhe? I'd trade Mario Wonder for Genshin or Nikke any day.
>What you're suggesting is just looking up still images
You could probably find some animated ones or some 3D slop if that's what you fancy
No you're still not picking up what I'm putting down. What I'm saying is that games should have playable characters that I actual want to see and care about--ones who look like Lisa.
A few games that do this well are Nier Automata, (except for the parts where you play as the male robot), Drakengard 3, and Stellar Blade.
No character in genshit is worth caring about. They all share the same 3 personalities and all the dialogue reads like it was written by chat GPT
Not true. Any character who looks as good as Eula is worth caring about--even if they all share a single personality and have no dialogue at all.
Genshin is fun enough. Especially if you're a normie that doesn't have high standards. It certainly is not any worse than other normalgay games like ass creed
>make a game that costs $60
>people might not play it but those who do will pay
>or make a f2p game
>people will play and keep buying
which way, western publisher?
>Percetive
b***h that isn't even a word, apply yourself.
I want to frick the new upcoming character, Arlecchino
It's valued higher than Epic and Valve? That seems ridiculous.
It isn't, Epic is still valued more. But Epic needs to get off their asses and prove they aren't a one-hit wonder with Fortnite. Mihoyo has been aiming to release tons of shit, and while they aren't as popular as Genshin, they're at least close.
Meanwhile Epic has done nothing notable with their Fortnite money.
Westerns don't get it because all the big-name companies now are run by shareholders and private investors that don't actually play games.
All of the content in Genshin is free. Literally, hundreds upon thousands of hours of exploration in a massive open world. So then how does it make so much money? It's simple. But selling characters that are ATTRACTIVE. And white. No ugly forced diversity Black folk and women with manjaws. Just conveniently attractive characters that used to be commonplace in video games until about a decade ago. That's all it takes.
Moble gacha live service game with girls who look like Xianyun > "game" without girls who look like Xianyun every time.
genshin merely proves gamers are one-dimensional brand monkey Black folk addicted to coom
>make game with things people want
>make fabulous amounts of money
Why is this such an absurdly difficult concept for westerners to understand?
we have to like ugly girls
>Genshin goes on filler patch for 8 months
>Enjoy occasional Events
>Ignore dailies
>Before you know it next region is dropping
>AAA Expansion with new Regions, Mechanics, and 15+ hours of voiced story that no modern DLC can compete with YEARLY
>Enjoy thoroughly
>Rinse Repeat
morons think Genshin is all gambling and cooming, they have no idea its actually hours of long winded dialogue about shrimp dumplings and blasting around pretty scenery while smacking repainted hilachurls for half a decade.
I was going to roll for Arlecchino but I don't have any desire for more characters till a must have drops. I started ordering figures instead.
genshin has the worst goddamn questing and dialogue of any game I've played. That 15+ hours is actually 4 after you cut out fricking Paimon repeating everything any npc said at least 3 more times in an unskippable cutscene.
>La Li Lu Le Lo?
Is your /vg/ thread getting shat on or something /gig/? Go back.
The most curious thing is how Genshingays gloat about MHY getting rich from their whaling while none of that money isn't getting invested back into the game. Can't even get decent anniversary freebies which don't const MHY anything.
What would "investing back in the game" mean? You whiners never explain that part in detail. Genshin is already getting regular region patches to explore, and every patch tries out new kinds of minigames new battle gimmicks. New characters release regularly like always. What else would "more investment" add?
nta, but to me, that would mean creating some real, new endgame content for the people that have invested in their characters to level 90, or fixing ANY of the game's worst problems that have persisted since the very beginning, instead of being extremely selective about what critique they choose to listen to.
Some leaks say that 4.7 will have a new abyss mode. Not confirmed but I think even hoyo knows that there is demand for harder content.
Also I don't think it's an "investiment" issue, all they need to do is bloat the hp of some enemies and make them give more rewards. Imo adding the local legends was them testing new kinds of "endgame" content.
>fixing ANY of the game's worst problems that have persisted since the very beginning
examples please
For one, revamping the artifacts. The amount of RNG required to get usable artifacts is unholy compared to any other game out there.
>right set
>right slot
>right main stat
>2+ good sub stats
>randomly get boosts into those substats at least a few times
The inability to even reset an artifact to level 0 if you get shit rolls is infuriating. If they refuse to go back and add some kind of pity system for artifacts, they should change it outright. Another thing is the artificial scarcity, of which they should have created a system to help new players. Imagine getting Furina and finding out her best weapon is from patch 1.2, which appeared once then never again. Or Cinnibar Spindle for Albedo, etc. There's no reason they couldn't spend some R&D time and money to invent a way for new players to earn old items that have never returned.
But just making bosses HP sponges is no more interesting, just more tedious. The local legends stuff could be interesting if they're like rare hunts or something like that.
You don't need optimal artifacts to clear the game or even to clear the abyss, it's literally an extra autism sink for minmaxers and there's nothing wrong with that. Other gachas have way worse rng shit, like GBF raid drops? You are a baby, you don't know hell.
Just because autists derive some kind of mindless pleasure from grinding their faces off to beat unfair RNG, other players don't have a right to complain about it when it wastes their time? Because its worse in some other game? This is cope. But Genshin players settling for shit is certainly why it manages to somehow stay so giga-popular
>muh right to complain
I have a right to reply to your complaints and start a conversation, stop acting like a b***h victim when that happens.
If you care so much about the gaming habits of Genshin players that you worry about them "settling for shit" then maybe you should idk, start a boycott? lmao that'll show mihomosexual right?
I write about it and the unskippable cutscenes in every version survey I've ever filled out. But hey, those don't really matter, right? It would be nice if the autists could get a real game mode to sink their time into, instead of being wiener-blocked for basic gear. Don't get so ass-mad defending the multi-billion dollar corpo
Why would you as a dev let people skip cutscenes? Hoyo actually wants you to read the story, even if you're unwilling and uninterested. If you add a skip button then suddenly nobody will know or care what is going on apart from a few autists. I've heard Arknights has a cool story but I'll never know, because the skip button is just too tempting.
Do you understand the first fricking thing about human psychology? You don't make people interested in your thing by forcing them to glue their eyes to it in the hopes that they just "haven't come around yet". The fact that people still grossly misrepresent characters like Scara demonstrates that autists will never learn no matter how many dialogue boxes you force them to sit in front of. I never would've known what happened in Silent Hill 2 if they'd put a skip button in, it just would've been too tempting to press it and get right back to killing monsters.
No cutscene should be longer than 120 seconds. They should be extremely well made and handed out as a treat to the player for beating a part of the game.
Don't talk to me about psychology when you yourself are being deliberately obtuse. The main goal of 90% of gacha players is to do the action that gives the shiny things that can be used to roll for sexy characters. (10% being dolphins/whales that don't need to care about freebies.) You know what doesn't give shiny things? Reading. You want to speedrun and skip asap to the shiny things to get your gacha fix, doesn't matter if the story is amazingly written but you had a long day at work and someone was an butthole to you and you feel old and alone and you just NEED that dopamine hit today. So frick the story, you can watch a youtube summary later though you'll probably forget even that.
Even with open world and other cool shit, Genshin is still fundamentally a gacha and a dopamine dripfeed machine for Pavlov's humans. The story needs to be forced on you or it will stop mattering. You can still click to make the text go faster, I thought this was already enough in terms of "skipping" but there will always be people like you who can't stand to do even that.
didn't read
I accept your concession.
>t-t-the story's really good!
>that's why they don't let you avert your eyes!
>the fax machine sidequest in Fontaine is so intriguing if you just read every line of it!
Maybe if they made the writing and dialogue any good, people would want to engage with it, instead of a desire to avoid it so badly
People do want to engage with it tbh, people like me. I am also a multimillionaire btw. MHY simply caters to more intelligent, more wealthy people first.
In this sense, they are the most Right Wing game developer in the world at the moment.
Falcom and Atlus are up there as well, because they cater to the same audience.
You mean the bureaucracy quest in Fontaine? I unironically liked it, hoyo understands EU dystopia
GBF is the only gacha I ever played and it's 10 years old. It's comical how unrecognisable the game is now compared to just 3 years ago. I'm glad I never really got hooked and don't even touch it nowadays.
Honest question, is it really a good game? What would you compare it to?
I used to still log in to GBF for collabs to collect the limiteds for the sake of collecting. Then they did a MHA collab and I decided that I'm done. There really isn't much to do anyway once you drop out of a GW guild, no point in rolling meta, no point in farming new raids, all you do is collect shiny things.
brain tickling fun
exploration is like botw collectathon
combat has depth but isnt overly complicated
map and huge and landmarks are cool and have lore, questlines, or both tied to them
early game is fun (just ignore abyss) and theres a bunch of content
the core gameplay doesnt change at all though so if you dont like it before 5 hours you probably wont like it after
I really enjoy it, the exploration is the most fun part of the game. The combat is good, despite the simplicity. The game has content which will easily last you couple hundred hours, without the need to spend a dime on it. I've personally spent 10$ over the course of 2 years, but I never felt the need like I have to spend anything. The game is very generous with rewards which can net you more characters.
The game doesn't even feel like it was designed as a mobile game, I think the android release was an afterthought. The amount of content and things to do in Genshin is easily many times more than most single player games.
Also you're not time gated on exploration or anything, you can just play as much as you like.
>creating some real, new endgame content for the people that have invested in their characters to level 90
Frick off tryhard. I started on day 1, am AR60, have 45 level 90 characters, and never want to see more annoying tedious mandatory chores added. The spiral abyss is already tedious to steamroll once every 2 weeks, and I quit Star Rail exactly because they kept piling more and more annoying forced endgame cancer that I have no interest in. All I want to do is log in, do dailies, use resin, log out and then come back to use resin again before going to sleep as I have done every day since release.
Tryhards like you are not and never have been the target audience, deal with it or go play one of the dead "Genshin killers" that tried to cater to you morons.
whats the point of having strong characters then?
any ragtag team of 4 can steamroll overworld just as hard as your meta team or those you pulled multiple times
why even spend money on this shitty mobile game then
To remove any remaining challenge/possibility of failure and feel like an omnipotent god. I paid over 400€ for Nahida C6R1 so I get to delete everything including Abyss F12 effortlessly, and will keep rolling for meta characters for the same reason.
Challenge is never fun or enjoyable on any level, steamrolling absolutely all content and deleting enemies before they even get a chance to react is always fun.
>400 fricking euro on boosting a single character
>to walk all over a game that isn't remotely difficult a outside of Abyss 12 sometimes a little bit faster
If I don't succeed in an activity on the first try effortlessly I get extremely frustrated and angry, I avoided even trying floor 12 until I got Nahida to trivialize it as well.
I don't want any content more difficult than we already have to be added, endgame content is always either a tedious chore or an extremely frustrating and anxiety inducing test from hell. If spiral abyss didn't have primogems attached I would never even touch it.
Not bait, frick you tryhard
>i am an adhd autistic zoomer
okay anon
Nothing wrong with adjusting the game to be more comfortable by rolling. The people who want Genshin to be more challenging can just make shitters team with niche 4*s, no need to push everyone to play the same way.
breasts or gtfo
Post breasts and feet.
>Challenge is never fun or enjoyable on any level
thats literally the reason people love games like path of exile, getting to god tier blasting tru mobs like is butter, no one wants to be replaying abuss 24/7 like the c**ts in the cc environment, the majority of the playerbase plays the game for the casual aspect and story, abyss is literally a mode that 10% of the playerbase touches even if is that easy lmao, look at games supposedly designed to be hardcore, the tiny minority plays the hard modes at all even if the game is focused on fights so not even there people enjoys hard gameplay
I hope you're just baiting
>muh endgame
That cope made sense in 1.0 when there was no new content. Right now everyone in Genshin is overwhelmed with content. Are YOU in the endgame yourself? That would mean you've cleared all the quests, HAVE you? I haven't, got 2 characters quests leftover and like 5 date quests, we're getting a new area in a week. What do you mean endgame, who's in that endgame? You can never clear all the content in Genshin, there's too much of it coming out all the time
Be honest with yourself. You just want more freebies, like me.
What the hell OpenAI that list was valued at first at 20 billions last year and last month they were worth 80 billions. Now they are worth 100 billions. No wonder everyone want to get into AI.
Yes, the best games are gacha. Thank you to the anon who recently shilled me a new gacha I jumped into recently.
Looking forward to more shilling so I can find the best gacha-KINOs.
Reminder to report the ban evading spammer.
just downloaded that image and will post it too schizo gachahomosexual
>jannies don't do anything about this spamming homosexual, yet they always kill the vidya butts spammer on sight
Jannies merely proving VB right with everything they do must be some kind of cosmic retribution
>75% of the content is literally gone because it was part of a 2 week limited timed event that you'll never get see ever again
I honestly don't understand how zoomers can play a game that disrespects this much. Do zoomies even pay attention to the story or do they just gamble and shit themselves or having artificially scarce digital items?
Genshin already takes like 100GB, if it kept all the mini events then it would filter people just with its size.
>in game events shouldn't be a thing because I wasn't there
Events were part of online video games since before you were born, moron. Stop pretending do be an epic oldschoolgay when you're a zoomer yourself.
>most highly valued private games company
Even higher than Valve?
Yes, and MHY is a valued a lot higher than Valve.
Impressive
They are a perfect case study for business tbh
>consistent offers, customers never confused as to the value of things
>created large economy of their own
>created large social media of their own
Within the economy there are essentially all types of people, aside from the obvious art and media economy.
Other gacha devs have started to learn, finally, why they cannot compete with the memed "fomo" "strategy" (which is not a strategy at all.)
And now they are aggressively segmenting to further satisfy the audience they have in more specific ways (HSR for otaku turn-based, GI for otaku open world, ZZZ for otaku action.) Otaku itself is broad and they are obviously experimenting with segmentation within that too.
10 yuan has been deposited into your account keep up the good work and your social credit might go up.
Of course, this goes along with the natural advantage of gacha in the modern world: Forced digestion.
If you leave the current audience to their own devices, they will binge until they are sick. All of the game will go in 1 ear and out the other. All of the art becomes a blur. The writing forgotten, characters meaningless.
Traditionally, games were played in shorter burst, around an hour-a-day for heavy gamers (in Japan especially.)
For various reasons, the audience globally became bingers. This completely ruins long-form media like JRPGs. MHY and other gacha devs use incentives to lead the audience to consume in smaller bites, thus leading to greater digestion and greater satisfaction with the games (greater connection.)
This is why gacha is winning and will not stop winning. This digestion strategy has been deployed in the information business for a long time, and has consistently performed well. But recently it has become much more dominant.
That's not entirely wrong. I unironically have more fun playing HSR for 30 mins/1hr a day tops, on my time, without fomo or artificial baits over my head, than when I slopped down on MMO's for 10 hours a day.
It also creates consistent hype when people are left hanging with a story cliffhanger, and lore and theorybait. Media binging already ruined TV shows, now game devs need to learn to dripfeed the goods to keep the hype alive.
Oh man its going to be hilarious when they miss one goal to many and the company is re-evaluted down to like a tiny fraction of its current value.
Well yes and no, considering Genshit is already dying.
>make good games
>wtf why are they making money?
have a nice day my man
You doomposters are all too young
Trend chasers have existed since forever, back in the 2000s everyone tried to copy the success of World of Warcraft, then copy the cash shop of F2P titles like League of Legends and every game suddenly had cosmetics, then everyone chased the e-sports audience and singleplayer was proclaimed dead with a lot of games adding useless multiplayer functionalities, mobile app integration and other stupid bullshit, CoD even ditched having a campaign at one point
The current trend is GaaS and gacha but we've already seen multiple GaaS games flop or be straight up cancelled
Trend chasing is a cycle, yet doomposters every new one is what will finally kill the industry
get fricked haters. genshin is the future
all games would be god tier if they were f2p and live service
>stealth chinese shill thread
Mihoyo just can't stop winning, bro. They need to make AAA game like Shit Up, oh sorry, Shift Up with Stellar Blade.
@blackrock DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!
They're unironically funding Azur Promilia lmao
oh no no no no
The first Blackrock KINO?
>tfw playing Brown Dust 2
>will play Genshin afterwards
>will play Honkai Star Rail after that
It's good to be a GACHA-GOD
23 billion, serious ? Are they including their non- gaming assets too? Who is going to buy it ? Tencent ? Amazon ?
also they are not publicly traded so wtf cares
>Only type of games allowed to have attractive and sexy female characters.
seems like that, if everyone else refused to give the audience what they want it's a given that the few ones that do succeed.
>love the lore of teyvat
>hate quests dialog
is it a localization problem?
the lore being in obscure and sometimes creepy places is what makes it good, story is fine but once you go tru some of the good sidequests and read some books it makes it come together, i like how environment story telling works kinda like in darksouls with items and other shit, artifact sets have lore too on them, most of the lore lovers come from all the side stuff not just going tru the main story
At least partially, English often needs long complex words to describe something that's just two letters in CN. Also a lot gets lost in the translation, or gets a weird localizations like the King Deshret (Scarlet King) nonsense.
Western execs look at this and still want mutts on their games
They made a good game and it's popular. What a shocker.
>So, is this the future of video games?
I really fricking hope so
Genshin or Honkai?
both
>turn cringed (bad)
>but it's actually autobattler! (even worse)
absolutely odious and completely repulsive.
Autoing dailies is fine if you have something else to do in the meantime. And important battles like some bosses have autoplay disabled so you still have to play it sometimes.
The only problem with HSR is that once you activate 2x speed, attempting to go 1x feels like swimming through syrup. It's bizarre, and legitimately feels slow-mo. They need to make the norm 1.5x
For me, both as well
Try whichever looks better to you first however
>Honkai
I assume you are talking about HSR. They different and similar at the same time. One is sci-fi, the other is high fantasy. One is an open world action rpg, the other is a turn based rpg. They do both have the "mihoyo game" feel, but are quite different in terms of game play. I like both, for different reasons. Both are really good games.
It sure is where the present of video games is. Wuwering Wawes and ZZZ are my most anticipated games this year
If Ubislop and EAslop didn't become future of video games this won't either.
The target audience is f2poors and overoverked office workers.
I don't think everything need to be a long running live service. TV series are fine but I still prefer movies.
