So, it's over then? Smash Remix is done?
The new DOOM stage is cool and Dragon King is awesome. Was really hoping for Glover though.

>out of any character they add Ebisumaru
>instead of Excitebiker, Tom Nook, Lip, Urban Champion, Diskun, Little Mac, or Bomberman
good
No.
It deserves three. I can't wait for Yae.
Ebi is a based pick. One of the best they added. Mystical Ninjas deserve two reps.
>why did they make an echo fighter out of one of their few originals which doesn't actually take up a slot
yeah it do be like that sometimes
I wanted James Bond in it I think it would have been funny to see him in the middle of all these expressive characters and he has legitimate reason to be in it.
Bond with joanna Echo would be cool.
Still can't get over Dark Samus.
Why not add your own? Seriously. I've been polishing my skills for Mario World. You can create your own fighters, mario kart tracks, pokemon etc. The world's your oyster.
Is anyone hosting. Im tired of playing against CPUs
Smash Remix online kinda sucks.
get on discord
You think any of the Smash Remix team will move on to other fan projects (assuming 1.5.0 is the end)?
I think Akaneia could benefit from the extra manpower, just go full throttle on turning it into Melee Remix.
It's weird that Dark Samus isn't an extension of Samus and Lucas isn't an extension of Ness. That's how they approached the other clones.
I'm surprised they didn't add any DK Crew members to the cast as well. DK is the only DK character in the game still.
They're pretty 64 specific. I don't know what other games they'd want to take on. This project has been ongoing for a long time though. I remember when this mod was just adding in the other stages like Final Destination. Maybe they're just done.
>Turn Akaneia into another PMEX build
Frick that.
>Dark Samus
>GBA Lucas
what a cursed art box.
Should've used Earthbound 64 Lucas
Wish they stuck to N64 era designs and characters, Lucas and Dark Samus stick out like sore thumbs. I also feel like if this game out during this era, they'd use Classic Sonic
Classic Sanic is an alt.
I heard the channel got deleted because underage hispanics got mad at Ebisumaru and they flagged the whole channel as offensive.
>this confuses and enrages the underage hue
>nooooooo i wanted sans undertale and shadow edgehog!!!
Not underage but I am a zoomer who has never played mystical ninja and nothing about ebisumaru irritates me except for the song that I don’t know what the name of his trailer song is. Other than that, he seems charming and goofy.
I don't understand how people were confused by Ebi. If they knew who Goemon is, they would know Ebi. And if they didn't know Goemon, the reveal trailer shows they are connected and he's been in the game long enough that anyone who didn't know who Goemon is would have had plenty of time to see any of the Mystical Ninja games where Ebi is in every single one.
Smash Remix is for boomers not zoomers and zoomers rage if there's something they don't recognize that shows they missed out on some shared experience of an older generation like having a house and family.
Outside of the die-hard N64 fans and old smashgays, Remix's fanbase is mostly underage kids (specially south americans) that play this game on their cheap phone, so of course they would get mad at a clone of a character they know jack shit about (just wasn't expecting them to be THIS triggered over it).
Honestly the only thing I dont like about Ebisumaru in Remix is that he's a boss character meaning that he's probably banned from competitive play, just like Peppy and Slippy.
I want them to rework the N64 logo stage, I really like the aesthetics of it but the layout sucks.
N64 logo I never play on because it's just way down there on the list of cool stages.
How do I get the boss characters to show up? I've been playing remix 1P and have never seen Slippy / Ebisumaru / Dragon King
i think its random
What’s the song that plays during ebisumaru’s trailer
Team doesn't get enough credit for their stages. All the stages they've added have been pitch perfect additions that strike balances in both competitive play and also goofy stuff and sometimes in between.
>Pokemon Stadium stages have the Pokemon Stadium announcers
>DOOM64 acid damage with ceiling
>Pinball Stage with goofy ass bouncers
>Smashketball
>Quest64 stage, Snowboard Kids
WE DID IT, JOKEBROS!!1!
I wish we could remove characters that are not from N64
Shouldve made the Spiderman mod official
Dragon King is fricking insane. Still maybe not Pika tier but absolutely crazy good. Falcon's movement with an even better moveset and a Pepsi Man skin.
I think he is better than Pika. The ability to heal yourself and an aerial grab is nuts.
In terms of matchup spreads I don't think he outright dominates more characters and more of the top cast than Pika. The team has done a pretty good job making the new characters balanced against the original cast.
The command grab you can combo into easily and it also kills and suicide win kills offstage and also heals you is wild but he does inherit some of Falcon's problems around being delicate. But he's been out for like two days so plenty of time to develop. I think the team deliberately keeps Pikachu the best as not to make any of the DLC overpowering like the recent games.
What in the blue hell is mischief makers? Most obscure smash pick of all time
>What in the blue hell is mischief makers?
a good game
Niche speedrunner game basically. I wish they'd done MORE picks like this rather than Dark Samus and Lucas. Even Melee characters like Falco, Marth, Sheik I could do without honestly because I can play those in Melee. I was really hoping this mod would enshrine more 64 specific characters for Smash to make it more unique.
It's still easily the best Smash mod though.
I give most of the clones a pass as they're part of the mod's past back when they were testing and experimenting with Smash 64 modding, and they're still fun to play at least, I dislike Marth but he was supposed to be in the OG but was cutted due to Smash 64's low budget and small dev time so I give him a pass too.
Sheik though is probably pure Melee pro-player shit and would rather have regular Zelda over her (and this comes from someone that likes using Sheik in Smash).
In fairness, Sheik did originate on the N64, but I'd rather just have some other characters that haven't been explored in other games. Marth is one of my favourites to play in Remix but I can also play him in Melee.
So is it still cool to pretend Banjo was a great addition for Smash Remix when in actuality, he was complete cancer that was so bad he killed Smash Remix's YT channel?
he didnt kill anything. He made it extra worth playing after piano and conker.
>forcing a meme when the two play nothing alike just because he's seething over "stolen spots"
YT channel got blasted because they used a copyright song in the trailer.
662980991
>blockheads STILL seething years later
remix 1p is hard, specially the team fights
just camp on the edge.
Giant Marina is a pain
>Conker Team
>Watch all of them get you to 200% with flamethrower spam
>Any star fox character doing multishines the moment you press shield
ALL of the Giant fights are a pain in the dick. They legit take 0 knockback / hitstun until like 250%, it's moronic.
Playing it on a console via an Everdrive is top tier shit. Fan games that are autistic about real hardware specs are alright with me
Thoughts on the Mad Piano?
Cool addition. Fine as an alt
Super fun and weirdly the "boss characters" are actually fairly balanced. Obviously characters like Peppy are just appendage characters they don't want to use a slide for but even the actual boss characters you can fight against and it's not unfair.
>Metal Mario and Luigi
>some advantage from low knockback but also die as soon as you can knock them offstage and get combo'd to shit once you get them airborn
>Giant DK
>very heavy and doesn't get launched until higher % but also has hitboxes that don't hit grounded opponents and is clumsy af
>Giga Bowser
>basically same as Giant DK
>Mad Piano
>great power and moveset but gets combo'd to shit because big body
The only "boss character" that's truly busted is Super Sonic because it's just Sonic but even faster. Still I don't find any of them unfair. Even Super Sonic, yeah he goes fast, right into your attacks often. He's more powerful in camping out if you wanna play that way and that's the only reason.
Thoughts?
What the hell is next to Slippy, Mario, and is that the Mario 64 piano next to Marth
metal luigi
Metal Luigi. His increase metal fallspeed removes the worst part of Luigi which is his floatiness and turns him into an actual real character. Not amazing but he fits into the middle of the cast easily now with that buff.
Mad Piano is a "boss character" attached to Kirby on the CSS using the D-Pad to select.
>Sheik and Marth at the top
Surprise surprise.
There's really no way for their toolkits not to be good. The fact that they have good ground movement puts them above a lot of the cast. The only characters who can dashdance properly in 64 are Falcon, Marth, Sheik, and Dragon King. Others can only really do it in place but not adjust spacing in the process.
>Ganondorf that high
is he that good? im so used to be Ganondorf being dogshit in official games and despite getting a bunch of good changes hes still like a mid low tier in PM
Ganon has Falcon dashdance and up air, armor on Warlock Punch which in 64 is east as frick to combo into, a combo throw and a kill throw, a dair spike that stays out for a good hour of active hitbox and enough knockback to KO anyone by like 40% offstage. You could argue he could be higher than Wolf or Mad Piano honestly. I think it's fair though as Wolf and Piano do better against the other top tiers while Ganon is neutral limited but still too all around great to be in B.
>Sin & Punishment still gets 0 content, not even a stage
I'm not gonna pretend that Saki in Crusade is good, frick that shit
I hope they continue to make characters even after they reach the N64 limit and give us a system where we can pick and choose which characters we want on the roster
I'm sure there's a complicated way they cold do that on the download page, but I don't think they will. Smash Remix is a "community" now and is basically the main 64 community. They wouldn't want different versions with different characters on different carts for the events. They've remained very much purists to keeping it kosher with the actual native hardware and not touching any of the OG existing characters balance-wise either.
If anything, down the line, if they want to come back to the project, I imagine they'll keep the CSS the same but append Lucas, Dark Samus, and Young Link onto Ness, Samus, and Link to open more CSS spaces. I'm not sure if they've hit the hardware memory limit now or not though.
Didn't realize they had grown so big to have an event scene
That makes sense then
Events like SmashCon won't run it because muh daddy Nintendo, but the 64 community has basically gone to playing Remix at locals with only VGBC minor events still doing vanilla because the israelite fears the Samurai. 64 is all boomer 30 year old dudes who use handles like MasterHandJob they do not care about esports money like Melee or Ultimate. It's the most love of the game Smash sub-community.
Sounds based
A shame that actual fans have to avoid getting official sponsorship to have fun
if only people were to make tutorials on how to make content based on SR dammit!
