So now that the DP remakes have come and gone, what happens to the contest stats? They're worthless bits of data now.
Is Game Freak going to delete them, make some use of them, or are they just to keep programming Pokemon with worthless, invisible stats till the end of time?

Did you ask this when Sun and Moon or Black and White were the latest games?

No because the RS and DP remakes were obviously still coming.
That's the point, with BDSP the contest stats have officially run their course until further notice.

Keep them around until it’s time to remake Hoenn again, or a VC release of RSE. Whichever comes first.

just wait for the Delta Emerald and Glistening Platinum remakes

They will probably go unused. BDSP Contests were heavily simplified and I wonder if they even wanted them back.

Didn't play it, were they even more simplified than the ORAS ones?

Obviously. ORAS was based on RS and had the exact same mechanics as the originals. Being based on DP obviously meant it was going to be just as simplified as it was in DP.

          >t. never actually played fricking contests in DP

DP contests were tedious as shit. Here put all theses bullshit accessories on your Pokemon based on some theme where items have hidden boosts you don't know without looking at the internet. Then do some homosexual dancing contest and then you need to have perfect contest moves to win.

BDSP contests were extremely simplified compared to DP. You just needed max champion stickers on your ball, good condition on your Pokemon of course, and then the dance contest is just hitting A on time. You only need to have one contest move which most of the time is Giga Impact.

The fact that you think simple and tedious are synonymous is saddening.
And so is the fact that you think the DP contests are tedious mind you.

They will keep the data or atleast the data flag saved on the Pokemon, like Feebas being able to evolve in Gen 5 from leveling up after reaching the maximum beauty stat in the previous gen.

People say about us potentially getting more Legends or Let's Go games. But I'd rather have Pokémon Contests be made into a side series instead.

Imagine going through a region as a Pokémon Coordinator getting Ribbons for our Pokémon doing Pokémon Contests instead of Pokémon Battles.
Imagine Pokémon Contests having the same depth as battles already do.
Imagine Pokémon actually feeling different to play in Contests beyond just having different Moves.
Imagine having a story that doesn't involve an evil team and some Legendary Pokémon.
Imagine Pokémon Contests having a competitive scene with some kind of Smogon-like meta being made.
Imagine hundreds of Pokémon that aren't good in battles being good or even OP in Pokémon Contests.

They'll probably just leave them unless they decide to remove them at some point. They could also be used if Pokémon Contests ever return but I think thats extremely unlikely at this point. Even if Pokémon Contests come back the question of what they would be like would remain.

If only Pokémon Contests in ORAS had online multiplayer. Then maybe we could have had something good for Pokémon Contests.

If they ever bring contests back, your stats/sheen will remain.

    1) They can bring them back in a different iteration in future generation
    2) They can use the flavor stats for something completely unrelated, since they also count for a particular flavor a Pokémon has eaten, maybe have a battle gimmick in gen 10 that uses them
    3) it's literal bytes of data, very inconsequential to store, just like the Leaf Crown (fairly certain that is stored) or PokéRus
