I saw something that Horde now outnumbers Alliance overall, which definitely wasn't the case when I used to play it a decade plus ago. What changed? I see Blizzard fricked Alliance with some lazy as frick "allied race" things compared to Horde, but surely that's not enough. Do Humans still have objectively the best racials in the game? I know that made a difference to the people who take minigames seriously, since they had the most OP pvp racial and I think they get a rep buff, which sounds great.

Learning to survive and fight, improving your craft and returning to your little outpost in the middle of nowhere away from the front lines was what appealed to me. I always liked being a no name scout/grunt who got their hands dirty.
If wow could ever be remade I would have focused on the beginning. It wouldn't be about leveling up, it would be about enjoying the moment. Surviving in the wilderness, learning your trade. I would introduce hunger and sleep mechanics, and making camps.
Always being a grunt probably isn't appealing to most but I like it.
