I played cyberpunk on release and after the anime came out. It was a 7/10 and only good for some fun shooting here and there. It’s barely been fixed yet outside of the bugs which I was hardly phased by.

Last time I checked NMS did not have gigantic cities, complex characters, multiple endings, side quests or action RPG mechanics. Not to mention mods able to give you completely new experiences. One is a space exploration game, the other is a RPG with space exploration.

Yeah you memory holed it. He walk in on the landing bay, inside is a ladder and you interact with the ladder which loads you into the ship. No animation, not seamless

There will be plenty of content. A 30 second sequence to get in your ship every time is not content. A 5 minute flight to space everytime you want to go anywhere is not content, or at leastnot content worth redesigning the whole engine from scratch for. I mean Star Citizne is the perfect counter example, you think you want all that shit but it gets fricking tedious. We know it has animated and its not seamless, it still looks good anyway despite these very minor things.

No it is Gamebryo. Bethesda paid the holdings company that owns Gamebryo for the rights to rename the engine. Then they renamed it. It is the same engine. You can backport assets from new games to old and vice versa. Nothing has changed other than the scripting engine (basically new objects/functions) to make it a little easier for their hack devs to work quicker.
In fact most of the new content in Gamebryo (Creation Engine) is from plugins exclusively which is downright embarrassing. They don't even make the shitty UI or trees anymore. All plugin generated. They just buy and bolt on shit and call it new. The worst kinda dev.

id only supplied the rendered, they are still using the same sdk with the same limitation, but now support full PBR pipeline
and heres where the problem lies, sdk is one of the most important things in game production, while remaking it will cripple your studio for the transition period as people have to learn entire workflows from scratch, its also your biggest limiting factor
this is why this game will feal like fallout, not due to UI or similar animations, but due to the same exact limitations like nor complex insides of buildings, loading screen on most doors and very clunky dated rig and animation system combined with stiff robot like npcs
