Seeth Dwarf fag. Rimworld accomplished Toad's life work in a fraction of the time and made one of the most popular games of this generation.
Rimworld does all of the "game" stuff DF does in a much more intuitive way, but there isn't the persitent real world surrounding your colony- everything is just tracked in a very instanced and modular, as-needed way. I don't know if characters from one colony can even show up in later colonies.
One of the main appeals to DF is that you can literally play an uninterrupted world over hundreds or thousands of years. Rimworld will never even aspire to that.

Name one thing Rimworld does better than Dwarf Fortress. Honest question not baiting. Ill give one to you and its in my opinion the reason Rimworld is still more popular than DF. And that is because Rimworld is still far more accessible than Dwarf Fortress. Adding graphics and mouse support helps, but it still doesnt change the fact that the game is still alot more clunky than Rimworld. That and plus the large mod base for Rimworld allows a coomer crowd to thrive.
