Kanji isn't gay, hasn't shown enough to make me believe nor deny he's bi.
He's a masculine guy who confuses liking feminine things as being "gay". Which is a actual problem people go through. Especially for someone as hyper masculine as him, the fact that he enjoys sowing would be 'gay'. Shit is tough and confusing when you're a teenager.
This anon gets it. Kanji isn't gay, he's built up an image of a tough guy while having a hobby he considers homosexual and the dissonance makes him neurotic.
Wanting to frick Naoto doesn't make him gay, it shows that a) He's so worried about being a closet gay that finding what he thinks is a boy a bit attractive makes his brain go on full "oh no I'm a gay" alert. b) That Naoto can play dress-up all she wants but she's still breedable and trying to hide that is pointless.

>game features complex Japanese societal nuances
>obviously wouldn't translate over so it's relatively simplified in localization
>brain damaged freaks project American identity politics onto the game
There's one importing thing lost in translation with Kanji's arc. He dives into an obsession with masculinity to try and counterbalance his traditionally feminine hobbies, but in Japan an obsession with masculinity is a classic gay trope. Which means it feeds further into his insecurities about his identity, and makes him feel cornered as if he'll be labeled gay no matter what he does.
>shadow is their secret self they try to hide/deny >Kanji's shadow is a lisping bathhouse gay that slurps semen and sits at a gloryhole all day >Rise's shadow is a literal stripper prostitute doing pole dances and offers to spread her vag on tv >Naoto's shadow is a troony and she wishes she was a guy >Nanako's palace is heaven and she doesnt have a shadow >Yukiko's shadow is a prostitute that wants to have sex with dozens of men, but with her in charge >Chie's shadow wants to show that she is a bigger and better bawd than Yukiko so she shits on her
Pretty simple when you think about it.
I think something a lot of people don't get about shadow selves in P4 is that they represent the anxieties the characters feel over how they're perceived. >Yosuke feared looking like a careless alien invader because he recently moved into town with a big mall chain that's eating up business and he had yet to form meaningful attachments to Inaba >Chie feared looking like a lesbian freak because she had a strong personality and enjoyed it when Yukiko leaned on her >Yukiko feared looking like a helpless prize, someone to be shuffled around at worst and at best someone to be saved >Kanji feared looking like a homosexual for the reasons explained above >Rise feared looking like a prostitute for how much she effectively sold herself in her career and how much she let the industry dictate her public image, she puts on the innocent and bubbly act after being recruited as a way to take back her own self image >Naoto feared looking like a troony because she understood she was denying her feminine nature by pursuing the very masculine detective ideal she had in her head >Nanako had no shadow because she was so young that she had not developed mentally enough to have those kinds of complexities to her psyche
Everyone denied their shadows because admitting those anxieties got to them would be admitting there were grains of truth to them, and the hell of public perception that got them to that point that would be tantamount to admitting the entire lie is true. In Kanji's case, the grain of truth is that he's not as tough and manly as he puts on.
I like the music so much because it's asian women singing English poorly so I mishear the lyrics as stuff like "all the lesbians... won't you let me in."
Kanji falls in love with Naoto while believing that Naoto is a boy. Being gay doesn't mean that you're attracted to all types of men just like being straight doesn't mean you're attracted to 40yo hags. Kanji is pretty clearly bisexual.
>falls in love
He was attracted to her. Naoto isn't a very convincing boy, her femininity stands out even as she tries to hide it. The only reason she can even get away with the act is because the bishounen trope exists.
Kanji experienced an attraction to Naoto's feminine features and found himself questioning his sexuality because she was dressing and acting like a boy. It's the same effect many men would experience looking at a bishounen in drag.
>falls in love >attracted
semantics, really. >her femininity stands out even as she tries to hide it
To be fair her Japanese VA is much more convincing at pretending to be a feminine boy, speaking of which Kanji thought that Naoto was a twink and was attracted to that. Feminine boys exist; a guy might be attracted to one instead of a bara musclehead, but they're still attracted to another guy
It's not semantics. There is a difference between experiencing a momentary attraction and falling in love. Hell, a difference between a momentary attraction and a last infatuation, even. Kanji was the former, he was attracted to Naoto's feminine features and that caused him to question his sexuality. >To be fair her Japanese VA is much more convincing at pretending to be a feminine boy
I wasn't talking about her voice at all. I'm speaking purely of Naoto's physical features. She has a girly face and even in a boy's uniform her frame is smaller and more slender than a boy's would be at their age. Kanji was picking up on these things and it left him confused.
Again, >twinks don't exist
Hell, just look at human Teddie, who's able to pass as a girl really easily when crossdressing.

Teddie is a bishounen, yes. Doesn't make Kanji gay. You can experience a fleeting attraction to a girly man without wanting to frick his ass or take his dick. In such cases, the girly features are just so overt you briefly forget he's a man. It's the same effect as a trap and the whole reason they get called "traps" to begin with is because they make you think they're girls and then bam, there's the dick that you're not supposed to like. If you keep going after seeing the dick, then it's gay.

There's a long history of men being attracted to twinks. Both the Romans and the Greeks didn't see anything wrong with having sex with young boys, although they probably didn't have a concept of "homosexuality."

Anonymous
What we traditionally think of as "twinks" are still very much boyish in appearance. They still have the proportions and bone structure of men. Naoto does not, it's readily apparent that she's a girl if you just pay attention to that.
Even Teddie, an actual boy with a feminine face still has to wear a dress to obfuscate his masculine frame.

That artwork could very easily pass for a feminine guy. >no hips >no visible breasts

Anonymous
>no hips
That's a perception failure on your part. Her hips don't look as prominent because she's wearing a boy's uniform with pointed shoulders that make her shoulders look wider than they are. Pay close attention to the fabric at her shoulders, especially on her right. It's very clear that they're narrower than they initially appear. You can also make out a very slight bulge in the chest where she's binding an ample bust.
Basically it all amounts to >you might not notice, but your brain did
tbh I would have the same reaction as Kanji.
Especially if Naoto started blushing and what not my neuron activations would override my proper thought processing skills. Wouldn't care if there was a penis in there, my straight ass would take the risk go for that cute Naoto ass.
lol no that is just your projection onto others.. her feminime part is what is attractive. trannies do not understand this and they think that they can play the game but they wrong becouse there nothing femimine about them.. you can look like 4/10 woman maybe 6/10 if you are reallly lucky but there more to it than just how women look
>Naoto isn't a very convincing boy
Except that literally every single person in Inaba was fooled.
But regardless, Kanji is undeniably attracted to Yu, who is 100% male. Kanji doesn't give a shit about gender, he wants to frick everything.
It's a conceit of the story. Bishounen is a common archetype in anime as well, so it's not like a feminine man is unheard of. The fact is when you put Naoto's appearance under any kind of scrutiny, she's not a very convincing boy.
I still don't understand why Namateme's shadow showed up and said he was the killer since he never once believed he was killing people
Namatame believed he was effectively responsible for killing Amane, so there's that.
I thought she was a boy when I first played the game.
I'd wager you were well aware of the bishounen archetype when you played. Or you're dense.
you have no reason not to, everyone calls her a boy and she has a pretty husky voice (moreso in japanese but even still in the dub). plus there's plenty of pretty homies in anime
What a mouthbreather take. Don't you dare breeding and creating and offspring. If attractive woman claim to be boy, you aren't gay for liking her. You are gay if you like masculine body features moron or a dick. you moron
Neither, he just likes sewing which typically is a feminine trade.
Naoto was his trigger because he was attracted to her and got more confused, but it's all guci because she has a nice rack. He might be bi-curios and may fall into the femboy pit, but I think Kanji is more likely to fall into more masculine girls than feminine boys is all. I honestly expected him to have interest in Chie but they rarely had interactions because logically he should be attracted to her as well, but I guess ATLUS just wants avoid anything that stand in the way of MC's harem.
Character wise, sure, but when it comes to very basic superficial similarities (boyish girl with a short hair) there are aspects where Naoto and Chie share similarities, there's still a dialogue to be made why Kanji is attracted to Naoto whereas he isn't to Chie.
He already says what he's attracted to during the Group Date Cafe, that's where the image I posted is from. Naoto being boyish has nothing to do with why he likes her
2 years ago
Anonymous
Mysterious part aside, Chie is very image of strength and looking strong. Chariot arcana is representation of victory and command. It's definitely aspect he could be attracted to.
Anonymous
True but Chie is actually strong and isn't pretending to be. Sure she's scared of ghost and bugs and whatever but she never pretends otherwise where as Naoto pretends to be strong but actually isn't. When Kanji describes what kind of girl he likes everyone knows he's describing Naoto. In what few interactions he gets with Chie in the dancing game he sees her as he sees Yu more or less. He admires her "manliness" and looks up to her as his senior
He falls in love with a person who he believes is a man but turns out to be female. Here we realize sexuality is not as simple as you lot make it seem.
Clearly isn't gay or he would have botched naoto the moment they discovered she is a woman.
He is a femine dude, he like girly things (which doesnt state someone is gay) and in the end he would bang that hot ass, so frick off he is straight as a pole.
>Which is a actual problem people go through.
Yeah, if they watch too much TV. I never thought cooking a good meal was "gay" or "fruity" or even feminine. All the best chefs are men, women are moronic. I'll kill you.
>Sewing cute little stuffed animals with little hats
Shit like that in pre-high school or low high school would be a pussy magnet.
Also is a skill in everyday use.
I mean, that's the whole point of his arc. He's embarrassed by his hobby, but when he ends up revealing it to others, everyone's just like "oh, that's pretty cool. make me one too". And he realizes his insecurities were for nothing.
Okay? And cooking is also seen as feminine, it's called a comparison. You're so fricking worthless your own mother paid a doctor to tell her if you were worth keeping. I'll kill you. homosexual Black person b***h
When you're a teen in high school, there is an absolute world of fricking difference between sewing cute stuffed animals with hats, and being a chef. Also, cooking is not a traditionally feminine thing to do, especially on a professional level. It's traditionally a man dominated industry if you're cooking outside of the home. Are you a moron? Do you ever go out?
Anon where have you been the last few 20some years? That shit would've been seen as gay as frick. You're looking at it with modern lenses. His fear is very understandable going by what he was likely taught at a young age by the people around him.
Same way how everyone watching anime, being a meme spouting moron and talking about super heroes is a very recent thing. Before 2010 you'd be shitted on hard for liking this shit by a frickton of normies.
>Hey dad, this is Teddie, a blonde white twink who you've never met or heard me mention before today. Can he move in with us and live in my closet? Also can you give him a job even though he has no documentation? >Sure thing, son
I'm pretty sure Yosuke's dad is gay too
>Things that are intuitively understood by Japanese
i don't get how really gradeschool level jung shit is some kind of japanese only thing
Read my original post. There are many things that are simplified for the English translation.
Naoto is the best example. Most people outside of Japan are unaware that Japanese society never had a major feminist movement, last time I checked there isn't even a direct translation for feminist. Her storyline makes a lot more sense in context but outside of Japan it just gets boiled down to "I'm uncomfortable in my gender".
Wtf are you talking about, it's quite explicit in the English translation that she feels that she's not respected for her work and even resented in some cases because of her gender
>game features complex Japanese societal nuances
This isn't just a Japanese thing. The strict barriers between how we see ourselves vs how the world sees us is a universal conundrum that Persona 4 explores heavily.
It's only Americans who see this complex interaction between the self vs the real and says "OH MY GOD AN EGG I'M GONNA TRANSIIIITIOOOONNN YOUUUUUUUU"
>subconciously imagine yourself as a semen slurping lisping homosexual running around in a male only bathhouse with nothing on but a towel and puckered asslips and facelips >~~*You*~~: "Bro thats just a Japanese allegory, he's not really gay, thats just your American coming through."
>shadows are manifestations of negative emotions about oneself both internal and projected >kanji likes traditionally feminine hobbies and is ridiculed and possibly called gay for this >negative feelings surrounding people calling you a homosexual manifest internally as seeing yourself as a flamboyant gay
imagine not even understanding storytelling this fricking blunt
>game features complex Japanese societal nuances

the only thing nuanced and japanese are the fricking backstories and lore on the persona's names and designs.
These characters are just people in situations and studying their behavior. Other parts of the world have underdeveloped cultures that haven’t discovered homosexuality or even the technological-socioeconomic hurdle that enables trans people to even exist. Americans are studying a hyper reality of people with personality traits in situations and their behaviors, thoughts and interpersonal relationships through the enlightened lens of American culture and politics. homosexual.
>enlightened lens of American culture and politics
Unironically what is wrong with the American is that they think their opinions on other cultures actually matter
this is the shit that irks me about P4 and P5. you actually get nice moments of development and nuance within their personal s.links but you can't reflect that in the main story because not everyone does every s.link
every time I'm forced to spend the day doing some wacky group adventure like playing in a band I'd rather just be doing s.links
>>game features complex Japanese societal nuances
It's about a teenage boy dealing with his sexuality. It's just that atlus did a very poor job at handling such a sensitive topic.
He was in love with Naoto when he thought she was a boy. When he found out the truth, he stopped lusting after her. Not only that, but his palace was a literally gay bathhouse and his shadow was slurping gallons of semen while flirting with Yu and shitting on the girls. That should tell you all you need to know. This also means that Rise is a huge bawd that wants to have all her holes filled on tv and Yukiko wants to anally frick men. Naoto is a troony and Nanako is pure.
>shadow is their secret self they try to hide/deny >Kanji's shadow is a lisping bathhouse gay that slurps semen and sits at a gloryhole all day >Rise's shadow is a literal stripper prostitute doing pole dances and offers to spread her vag on tv >Naoto's shadow is a troony and she wishes she was a guy >Nanako's palace is heaven and she doesnt have a shadow >Yukiko's shadow is a prostitute that wants to have sex with dozens of men, but with her in charge >Chie's shadow wants to show that she is a bigger and better bawd than Yukiko so she shits on her
Pretty simple when you think about it.
kanji is in denial of his interest in "feminine" hobbies
Rise is in denial of feeling like she has to fit into a role she finds demeaning
Naoto is in denial that she's trying to grow up too fast when she's still just a kid
Yukiko's in denial that she is being burdened with a future career path she never asked for
Chie is in denial of her jealousy of yukiko's position in life without understanding of how stressful it is to her
Yosuke is in denial that he's an attention hungry prostitute using any excuse to get girls' attention
Not really gay, but it's so easy to make that mistake that he made it himself. >oh no that detective with the nice hat and the tight ass is harassing us again >oh no his lips are so pouty and juicy I just want to >wait what >WOO HOO, NOT GAY!
I mean, he never said any of that, like at all, but okay anon. Kanji built himself to scare away others, what shocked and confused him is that theres this guy that just walks up to like nothing and asks him about his day without even flinching. Now that is something he actually says out loud and in mental dialogue on-screen. Are you sure you're not the gay one who misunderstands other guys like that?
just a man that loves cute things but...
canonically all characters are bigger perverts then the demons themselves and reason of why they can make contracts with demons.
No, he just thinks he might be because of his 'feminine' hobbies, his attraction to Naoto and overall insecurities. The first part doesn't mean shit, the second could be argued his subconciously seeing through Naoto's facade as he's still crushing on her afterwards and the last is pretty normal for teenagers.
What's really sad is that if any boy irl was like Kanji there people would be trying to convince him that he was trans.
>Especially for someone as hyper masculine as him, the fact that he enjoys sowing would be 'gay'.
Frick, he's me. I was a little shit delinquent in school, but got shoved into a homemaking class... and ended up enjoying it.
He was supposed to be a straight guy who liked girl things which made people think he was gay and made him insecure about his masculinity, not sexuality. But they went so hard with the gay jokes and shit that it fell apart and you get a horrible mixed message of what he's supposed to be about. I can't even blame people for thinking he's gay the way the game harps on the poor guy for it.
He was straight guy with a very good pussy radar that detected Naoto's real sex. But that made him wonder if he is gay, which he is not because Naoto was never a dude and he never found other dudes attractive.
I'm playing P4G for the first time right now and I have to say I fricking hate yosuke so much
why will he not stop making fun of kanji for being gay? this is the most japanese humor shit of all time. teasing him once or twice, whatever. but he keeps doing it even though it's clear how much it upsets kanji. leave your friend alone you headphone-wearing homosexual. my god.
Yosuke has:
His crush who never actually liked him killed
Vicious abuse from Chie the prostitute
Never gotten any pussy
Had to leave his life in the city
No friends except Yu and the Gang
Has to take care of and bottom for Teddie
Just as responsible for discovering the murders as Yu but happily accepts being his side kick.
Your first interaction is literally digging this man out of a trash can. He is a jealous loser but he sucks up to you so you reward him with your broship. Who cares if he busts Kanji's balls a bit, Kanji obviously isn't seriously bothered.
In the Golden true ending epilogue, Naoto's breasts are actually there, implying the binding thing wasn't all fanon after all.
Also, the whole point of Persona 4s main cast is that they were exactly what they are on the outside. Yosuke is just the dude with a dad ruining the town, and Kanji isn't gay, he just hates women. Chie is a dumb c**t with no character, Yukiko is the future inn owner just give up, Rise is a prostitute, and Naoto my beloved is a beautiful woman who also hates women.
Ultimately 4 is a story about self-acceptance, which is an inverse of usual trope of characters longing for more, for grand adventure and for riches, or revenge. I think it's a very positive story that needs to be taught more.
>implying the binding thing wasn't all fanon after all.
It's explicitly stated in the onsen that she has the biggest breasts out of any of the girls, it was never fanon
Kanji is bi and it's insane to think that he's not. He literally says in his dungeon that he doesn't care "whether it's dudes or chicks" (not his shadow, Kanji himself says that he's fine with either). He's into Naoto when he thinks she's a guy. He shows overt sexual attraction to guys like MC on NUMEROUS occasions throughout the game (and likewise shows attraction to girls multiple times).
The only time that he insinuates that he doesn't like dudes is when Yosuke is making fun of him, and their interaction basically goes like this,
"Holy crap this guy likes to breathe! Get this breathing freak away from me!"
"Nuh-uh! I hate breathing! I've never breathed once in my life!"
He doesn't say he doesn't care whether it's guys or chicks, he says "it's not about liking guys or chicks," as in, the way his Shadow is acting isn't about his sexuality
The Midnight Channel shows people what they want to see. The IT wanted to believe Namatame was guilty so that they could avenge Nanako and so the Midnight Channel showed them a guilty and remorseless Namatame. Although technically the shadow never actually admits to killing anyone and and is only an exaggeration like the others
>2015+7 >people still do not understand Persona 4
How the frick is this still possible? The game is old as hell at this point and I still constantly see the same posts made by morons who either did not play the game or did not pay attention.
Kanji's nosebleed was a joke by the developers. In-context Kanji is completely calm and almost oblivious to the entire situation. Kanji could have just gotten a nosebleed naturally. Maybe an allergy, maybe an injury flaring up... Maybe he was just picking his nose like the boor he tries to be. It's all a setup for an awkward joke.
Kanji isn't gay. He just has such a strong pussy radar that a mere disguise was not enough to fool his brain on a subconscious level. Naoto being revealed as a girl should have been his moment of vindication.
Because any time anything with even a hint of gayness is brought up he panics and tries to distance himself from it, while at the same time constantly calling Kanji gay. It makes him come off very insecure, like he desperately needs everyone to know that he definitely totally 100% straight
He acts like he's in the closet any time Kanji acts remotely gay he spergs out. Also because he was supposed to have the option to gay romance him but it was cut from the final game.
damn, that's crazy they even considered that, in 2008 no less. like I know P2 technically has a "gay romance" option but the romance in that game is barely even a thing. that would have been pretty controversial.
It's the classic insecure homosexual who hates himself so he goes full "im a straight dude and i have to show off" or "everything happens around me is gay, everyone is gay except me, look the gays are hitting on me".
Basically the worst kind of closeted gays.
>Adachi kills two people >Goes to jail forever and the Investigation Team all hate him >Akechi kills tons of people >Gets a free pass
Adachi really was right
Kanji will be crying himself to sleep on Valentine's Day while I am pounding Naoto's tight vegana and sucking on her fat breasts at a public beach while she tells me how cool I am
>women are loud and obnoxious and I don't like dealing with them
The joke is calling Kanji a gay for saying something Ganker would say means that Ganker is filled with gays.
Kanji is probably just a huge sperg. He could be bi but that hardly matters for his character. Yosgay is a huge homosexual who pushes all his homosexualy on poor Kanji all because he likes to crochet
is the nurse of 4 the most realistic character ever in a persona game?
>woman in her 30s >starts flirting with the MC the moment he meets him >gets all horny and wants to touch you more if you say you have a gf >implied BJs
The Kanji is gay and Naoto is trans thing has many supporters, even the hiimdaisy comic was on the "kanji is gay" side, maybe its best the artist got mad and never finished it
Kanji is hetero-leaning bi, attracted to naoto while he thought she was a boy, shows plenty of attraction to women in general.
The writers may have intended for him to be hetero, I don't really care because he just acts more like bisexuals I've known than heteros I've known.
Naoto is not trans because the writers probably genuinely didn't know what a trans person was, her arc is about struggling to be taken seriously as a woman in a male-dominated field. Naoto acts nothing like any trans person I have ever met, which is preferable to if they tried to write a trans character because it'd probably end up like Chihiro Danganronpa.
>Entire story arc + dungeon is "im insecure about my sexuality and i dont know how to express myself" also "i have nobody to talk about it". >Resolution of the dungeon is "well i wasnt homo, now im banging the hottest of the girls and i had female hobbies, which nobody cared about". >Idiots itt in 2022 still saying "well he was gay or bisexual".
Boy you all have comprehesion problems. Like pre school problems.
Shadow Kanji is what real Kanji thinks everyone sees him as. Real Kanji thinks he might be gay by liking sewing and whatnot so he overcompensates with the aggression and bad boy shtick. Being attracted to Naoto only furthered his confusion because he thought he liked a boy. Not gay, only thought he might be and that people think he is. Actually straight. It's really easy to pick up on if you don't take dialogue at a literal and face value. But hey, this place is filled with social tard so I understand a lot of you failing to pick up on these things.
No it is rather what he is most afraid of being seen as, his most embarrassing thoughts. You yourself if you have a functioning brain will have thoughts sometimes so strange your brain will identify them as a different person. That's what a shadow is. Kanji doesn't think, he knows that every one sees him as a big macho tough guy, so that's what his persona looks like.
>No it is rather what he is most afraid of being seen as
It's what he 's afraid he might actually be, not what he actually is, if you're paying attention
He's straight, otherwise the other dungeons would mean that Rise is really a prostitute, Naoto should be a troony, and Yukiko is a useless woman looking for a prince to wisk her away. He's just has feminine interests due to being raised by hippies in a sowing shop (which the game spells out). The gay stuff is literally just a big gag. Plus, Japan is a pretty right wing country, which does not accept homosexuality as a natural state but as weakness of the mind.
Kanji is incel
There's one importing thing lost in translation with Kanji's arc. He dives into an obsession with masculinity to try and counterbalance his traditionally feminine hobbies, but in Japan an obsession with masculinity is a classic gay trope. Which means it feeds further into his insecurities about his identity, and makes him feel cornered as if he'll be labeled gay no matter what he does.
I think something a lot of people don't get about shadow selves in P4 is that they represent the anxieties the characters feel over how they're perceived.
>Yosuke feared looking like a careless alien invader because he recently moved into town with a big mall chain that's eating up business and he had yet to form meaningful attachments to Inaba
>Chie feared looking like a lesbian freak because she had a strong personality and enjoyed it when Yukiko leaned on her
>Yukiko feared looking like a helpless prize, someone to be shuffled around at worst and at best someone to be saved
>Kanji feared looking like a homosexual for the reasons explained above
>Rise feared looking like a prostitute for how much she effectively sold herself in her career and how much she let the industry dictate her public image, she puts on the innocent and bubbly act after being recruited as a way to take back her own self image
>Naoto feared looking like a troony because she understood she was denying her feminine nature by pursuing the very masculine detective ideal she had in her head
>Nanako had no shadow because she was so young that she had not developed mentally enough to have those kinds of complexities to her psyche
It's funny how many people don't get the theme of P4 when you hear it over and over in random battles
I like the music so much because it's asian women singing English poorly so I mishear the lyrics as stuff like "all the lesbians... won't you let me in."

I wasn't talking about her voice at all. I'm speaking purely of Naoto's physical features. She has a girly face and even in a boy's uniform her frame is smaller and more slender than a boy's would be at their age. Kanji was picking up on these things and it left him confused.
Again,
>twinks don't exist
That artwork could very easily pass for a feminine guy.
>no hips
>no visible breasts
Basically it all amounts to
>you might not notice, but your brain did
>Naoto isn't a very convincing boy
Especially since she doesn't even bother to hide her voice.
tbh I would have the same reaction as Kanji.
Especially if Naoto started blushing and what not my neuron activations would override my proper thought processing skills. Wouldn't care if there was a penis in there, my straight ass would take the risk go for that cute Naoto ass.
You're a bit bisexual anon and that's ok
Sexuality is probably more of a spectrum than a binary anyway
No you're just a fricking gay with mental illness
>fricking
i'm a virgin just like you
>gay
i'm straight, sorry
>with mental illness
who doesn't have mental illness in this shithole?
gaaaaay
>You're a bit bisexual
no im not
Traps are gay
Liking Naoto is not gay
If Naoto had a penis would you frick her?
No.
lol no that is just your projection onto others.. her feminime part is what is attractive. trannies do not understand this and they think that they can play the game but they wrong becouse there nothing femimine about them.. you can look like 4/10 woman maybe 6/10 if you are reallly lucky but there more to it than just how women look
Namatame believed he was effectively responsible for killing Amane, so there's that.
I'd wager you were well aware of the bishounen archetype when you played. Or you're dense.
I thought she was a boy when I first played the game.
you have no reason not to, everyone calls her a boy and she has a pretty husky voice (moreso in japanese but even still in the dub). plus there's plenty of pretty homies in anime
Yes that was the point dummy, but anyone who is familiar with japanese media would know that she's a girl hiding her femininity
What a mouthbreather take. Don't you dare breeding and creating and offspring. If attractive woman claim to be boy, you aren't gay for liking her. You are gay if you like masculine body features moron or a dick. you moron
If you think that they're a guy and fall in love with them anyway, then yeah that makes you a bit gay. There's nothing wrong with that, anon.
go back to twitter and never return troony
But I'm a straight guy
Neither, he just likes sewing which typically is a feminine trade.
Naoto was his trigger because he was attracted to her and got more confused, but it's all guci because she has a nice rack. He might be bi-curios and may fall into the femboy pit, but I think Kanji is more likely to fall into more masculine girls than feminine boys is all. I honestly expected him to have interest in Chie but they rarely had interactions because logically he should be attracted to her as well, but I guess ATLUS just wants avoid anything that stand in the way of MC's harem.
Chie is the complete polar opposite of Naoto, why would Kanji be attracted to her?
Character wise, sure, but when it comes to very basic superficial similarities (boyish girl with a short hair) there are aspects where Naoto and Chie share similarities, there's still a dialogue to be made why Kanji is attracted to Naoto whereas he isn't to Chie.
He already says what he's attracted to during the Group Date Cafe, that's where the image I posted is from. Naoto being boyish has nothing to do with why he likes her
Mysterious part aside, Chie is very image of strength and looking strong. Chariot arcana is representation of victory and command. It's definitely aspect he could be attracted to.
I wish chies were real
Same
He falls in love with a person who he believes is a man but turns out to be female. Here we realize sexuality is not as simple as you lot make it seem.
it's because his female radar was working too well, it's super anti-gay. you trannies need to frick off already
Yeah I'm super girly and I feel like people are gaslighting me in to thinking I'm trans but I'm fairly sure I'm just like...a girly boy.
Kanji's hobby is sewing you moron. Sewing cute little stuffed animals with little hats.
Yosuke is gay, Kanji is the buff dude who likes knitting, if that makes sense.
Kanji is gay, Naoto is trans
Naoto doesn't die though
Thanks for your monthly post Pat
naoto is a blacked prostitute just remember her queen of spades hat.
Don't pick on Kanji.
Let him be whatever the hell he wants to be.
No, Naoto's androgyny was sending him false signals and confusing him
Now Yosuke, that's a homosexual.
>Gives Kanji shit for thinking hes gay for months
>The second Teddie turns into a blonde twink adopts him into his house
Yosuke is a mega gay
That said, the boy has taste.
>teddies room is the closet
It's the little details like Teddie crossdresses and wears bra in the epilogue that make it all come together.
>wears bra in the epilogue
I don't remember that.
Of course he doesn't.
>Hey dad, this is Teddie, a blonde white twink who you've never met or heard me mention before today. Can he move in with us and live in my closet? Also can you give him a job even though he has no documentation?
>Sure thing, son
I'm pretty sure Yosuke's dad is gay too
actual toxic masculinity
He's just scared of women
>game features complex Japanese societal nuances
>obviously wouldn't translate over so it's relatively simplified in localization
>brain damaged freaks project American identity politics onto the game
>generic animu characters
>complex Japanese societal nuances
The subject matter is complex i said nothing about the actual story telling
Things that are intuitively understood by Japanese, are not intuitively understood by English speakers.
>Things that are intuitively understood by Japanese
i don't get how really gradeschool level jung shit is some kind of japanese only thing
basically, in Japan liking girly things makes people think you are gay, in America liking girly things makes you trans.
It's only Americans who see this complex interaction between the self vs the real and says "OH MY GOD AN EGG I'M GONNA TRANSIIIITIOOOONNN YOUUUUUUUU"
>subconciously imagine yourself as a semen slurping lisping homosexual running around in a male only bathhouse with nothing on but a towel and puckered asslips and facelips
>~~*You*~~: "Bro thats just a Japanese allegory, he's not really gay, thats just your American coming through."
>shadows are manifestations of negative emotions about oneself both internal and projected
>kanji likes traditionally feminine hobbies and is ridiculed and possibly called gay for this
>negative feelings surrounding people calling you a homosexual manifest internally as seeing yourself as a flamboyant gay
imagine not even understanding storytelling this fricking blunt
Trannies are what happens when you give into the shadows instead of beating them up first.
the only thing nuanced and japanese are the fricking backstories and lore on the persona's names and designs.
>"complex characters"
>kanji becomes the comedic relief the second he joins the team and "lol you gay, kanji" jokes are all over the game
kek you gays make me laugh
this is the shit that irks me about P4 and P5. you actually get nice moments of development and nuance within their personal s.links but you can't reflect that in the main story because not everyone does every s.link
every time I'm forced to spend the day doing some wacky group adventure like playing in a band I'd rather just be doing s.links
P3 did it better by not having s. Links for every party member and let them decelop naturally through the story.
I'm pretty sure that the comic relief is still Teddie, and Yosuke, the character who will probably bring up Kanji being gay, also gets shit on
>>game features complex Japanese societal nuances
It's about a teenage boy dealing with his sexuality. It's just that atlus did a very poor job at handling such a sensitive topic.
>complex
>guy liked the woman CROSSDRESSING as a man
homosexual
keep in mind he still thought Naoto was a guy
He was in love with Naoto when he thought she was a boy. When he found out the truth, he stopped lusting after her. Not only that, but his palace was a literally gay bathhouse and his shadow was slurping gallons of semen while flirting with Yu and shitting on the girls. That should tell you all you need to know. This also means that Rise is a huge bawd that wants to have all her holes filled on tv and Yukiko wants to anally frick men. Naoto is a troony and Nanako is pure.
How do you completely miss the point of palaces and shadows?
>shadow is their secret self they try to hide/deny
>Kanji's shadow is a lisping bathhouse gay that slurps semen and sits at a gloryhole all day
>Rise's shadow is a literal stripper prostitute doing pole dances and offers to spread her vag on tv
>Naoto's shadow is a troony and she wishes she was a guy
>Nanako's palace is heaven and she doesnt have a shadow
>Yukiko's shadow is a prostitute that wants to have sex with dozens of men, but with her in charge
>Chie's shadow wants to show that she is a bigger and better bawd than Yukiko so she shits on her
Pretty simple when you think about it.
>Nanako's palace
outted yourself as a P5onlygay
Im a Vitagay, I forget what they called the dungeons. Deal with it.
kanji is in denial of his interest in "feminine" hobbies
Rise is in denial of feeling like she has to fit into a role she finds demeaning
Naoto is in denial that she's trying to grow up too fast when she's still just a kid
Yukiko's in denial that she is being burdened with a future career path she never asked for
Chie is in denial of her jealousy of yukiko's position in life without understanding of how stressful it is to her
Yosuke is in denial that he's an attention hungry prostitute using any excuse to get girls' attention
You left out how all the girls are secret prostitutes and all the guys are secretly gay.
I think you're just projecting
Its not an American game
>shadow is their secret self they try to hide/deny
No they aren't lmao, it's the dread and anxiety of how others perceive you.
Do you think I'm pretty Sempai?
volcel if you wouldn't
the fact that no one thought Yu was pretty looking annoys me
Ai does
Yes and Naoto is trans
Male homosexuality is just a meme, men aren't actually attracted to other men
I like to think Kanji is pansexual,he didn't got attracted to Naoto because of her gender
Pansexuality doesnt exist you brainwashed twitter homosexual
People....can't be anything other than straight....they can't ok?
its bisexulity you moron, there are no other sapient creatures than humans
Not really gay, but it's so easy to make that mistake that he made it himself.
>oh no that detective with the nice hat and the tight ass is harassing us again
>oh no his lips are so pouty and juicy I just want to
>wait what
>WOO HOO, NOT GAY!
>I mean
>like, at all,
>but okay anon
>are you sure you're not the gay one
I'm not the anon you're replying to but you talk like a massive homosexual. You talk like a legitimate homosexual.
People who aren't gay don't wonder whether they're gay or not. If you have to question whether you're a homosexual then you're a homosexual 100%
Tbh i made that mistake when i was younger saw Naoto and liked her before i knew she wasn't a man and went to bed thinking i was a homo.
just a man that loves cute things but...
canonically all characters are bigger perverts then the demons themselves and reason of why they can make contracts with demons.
I love all the mental gymnastics P4gays do, to prove the P4 cast is not full of deranged degenerate perverts.
You're all embarrassing honestly.
homosexual game
No to gay, maybe on bi. It's left kind of ambiguous, and definitively answering that question wasn't the central point of his arc anyway.
He was straight guy with a very good pussy radar that detected Naoto's real sex. But that made him wonder if he is gay, which he is not because Naoto was never a dude and he never found other dudes attractive.
Why can't you ever admit that a character in Japanese video games can also be gay? Even when it's so obvious?
Yes and Naoto is trans
Kanji is bisexual but Naoto is definitely not trans.
Homo
So if you were to have sex with Naoto, which outfit would you have her wear?
100% gay. He had a big whiny dungeon that was all about him crying about his feelings. Sounds like a gay to me.
So do you all steal Naoto from Kanji?
Kanji is definitely gay, he gets a nosebleed from Yu wearing a swimsuit.
Naoto WNBAM though
I don't think that really counts though. Everyone is Yusexual.
Kanji pretty much agrees to marry Yu in Persona Q
I'm playing P4G for the first time right now and I have to say I fricking hate yosuke so much
why will he not stop making fun of kanji for being gay? this is the most japanese humor shit of all time. teasing him once or twice, whatever. but he keeps doing it even though it's clear how much it upsets kanji. leave your friend alone you headphone-wearing homosexual. my god.
kanji is my only bro in this world. frick yosuke
its just bants bro
it's only bantz if you know your mate can take it
after the third or fourth time kanji honestly should have just karate chopped that kid in the throat. how's that for banter
Shut up, gaylord. You are a knight of the brown hole.
Wtf Teddy actually is wearing a bra.
It's a wife beater.
a wifebeater would usually have way wider shoulder straps.
this is totally meant to be a bra
>implying the binding thing wasn't all fanon after all.
It's explicitly stated in the onsen that she has the biggest breasts out of any of the girls, it was never fanon
In Arena Teddie flat out says that Naoto binds her chest
>He shows overt sexual attraction to guys like MC
Everyone is attracted to the MC
That's a copout, but he also shows attraction to guys in general. Kanji is attracted to the male form.
Gonna need some evidence of that.
He doesn't say he doesn't care whether it's guys or chicks, he says "it's not about liking guys or chicks," as in, the way his Shadow is acting isn't about his sexuality
if you have to ask, then you missed the point entirely
I still don't understand why Namateme's shadow showed up and said he was the killer since he never once believed he was killing people
The Midnight Channel shows people what they want to see. The IT wanted to believe Namatame was guilty so that they could avenge Nanako and so the Midnight Channel showed them a guilty and remorseless Namatame. Although technically the shadow never actually admits to killing anyone and and is only an exaggeration like the others
>cant romance Izanami
feels bad
>2015+7
>people still do not understand Persona 4
How the frick is this still possible? The game is old as hell at this point and I still constantly see the same posts made by morons who either did not play the game or did not pay attention.
zoomers try to analyze a 2008 game through their warped 2022 ideological lens
All the zoomers in these threads don't play any of these games and actually believe the Ganker memes they see posted on here everyday
you're right bro, kanji isn't a gay, he just got a nosebleed from seeing MC shirtless because that's what bros do when they're mirin each other
Kanji's nosebleed was a joke by the developers. In-context Kanji is completely calm and almost oblivious to the entire situation. Kanji could have just gotten a nosebleed naturally. Maybe an allergy, maybe an injury flaring up... Maybe he was just picking his nose like the boor he tries to be. It's all a setup for an awkward joke.
that's not why he gets a nose bleed, if it was then he would have gotten one when they went to the beach and were in the same swimsuits
Kanji isn't gay. He just has such a strong pussy radar that a mere disguise was not enough to fool his brain on a subconscious level. Naoto being revealed as a girl should have been his moment of vindication.
>Strong pussy radar
>Even stronger pussy magnet (Only outdone by Chad Thunderwiener)
How does he do it?
>gays and trannies >:|
>gays and trannies, japan :O
>Hey anon, your 8 year old sister is pretty cute-kuma! Can I score with her, kuma? Hey Nanako, let's go hang out in your room kuma!
>intentionally makes herself bait for the killer
>doesn't put up a single camera or audio recording device
that's our supergenius detective prince
She may be a moron, but she's a cute moron.
Maybe she did but never said anything because she didn't find anything worth recording
she literally says the killer rings her doorbell and comes in her front door but she just can't remember his face because she gets ambushed/drugged
Maybe he wore a hoodie as well.
what do chie and yukiko say after kanji says this
He's right though. Girls are loud and stupid
Neither, he's just a tough guy that has a feminine side.
Kanji is bi, Yosuke however is hard gay
I never understood why people say yosuke is gay
Because any time anything with even a hint of gayness is brought up he panics and tries to distance himself from it, while at the same time constantly calling Kanji gay. It makes him come off very insecure, like he desperately needs everyone to know that he definitely totally 100% straight
that's just how teenage boys are
He's from a better time when hating homosexual is good
He acts like he's in the closet any time Kanji acts remotely gay he spergs out. Also because he was supposed to have the option to gay romance him but it was cut from the final game.
https://tcrf.net/Persona_4/Unused_Voice_Clips/Social_Links#Yosuke_Hanamura
?t=124
This is why.
damn, that's crazy they even considered that, in 2008 no less. like I know P2 technically has a "gay romance" option but the romance in that game is barely even a thing. that would have been pretty controversial.
Aside from what the other guys said and the fact he shacked up with Teddie, he also wore this
He literally behave himself like everyone is gay around him besides himself.
It's the classic insecure homosexual who hates himself so he goes full "im a straight dude and i have to show off" or "everything happens around me is gay, everyone is gay except me, look the gays are hitting on me".
Basically the worst kind of closeted gays.
>Adachi kills two people
>Goes to jail forever and the Investigation Team all hate him
>Akechi kills tons of people
>Gets a free pass
Adachi really was right
Literally me.
kanji nearly coomed himself by touching yosuke, i'd say he's a coomer who coom over anything that physically touches him, end of story
Kanji will be crying himself to sleep on Valentine's Day while I am pounding Naoto's tight vegana and sucking on her fat breasts at a public beach while she tells me how cool I am
Kanji and Naoto would never get together neither would initiate.
Huh, I almost bought this game because of the shilling, hard pass
newbie
>women are loud and obnoxious and I don't like dealing with them
The joke is calling Kanji a gay for saying something Ganker would say means that Ganker is filled with gays.
>Ganker is filled with gays
but that's true
>Ganker is filled with gays.
But it is
Kanji is probably just a huge sperg. He could be bi but that hardly matters for his character. Yosgay is a huge homosexual who pushes all his homosexualy on poor Kanji all because he likes to crochet
He was just insecure about his girly hobbies, that's all.
Kanji is straight as an arrow and wants to bone Naoto. If you think he's gay/bi, you're a troony and should join the 41%. End of discussion.
is the nurse of 4 the most realistic character ever in a persona game?
>woman in her 30s
>starts flirting with the MC the moment he meets him
>gets all horny and wants to touch you more if you say you have a gf
>implied BJs
He's 100% gay. He talks exactly like a gay person does, and he only liked Naoto because he thought zer was a boy.
>KANJI IS NOT GAY,HE JUST ASK LIKE A homosexual ALL GAME BECAUSE HE LIKES LE CUTE THINGS
will this board ever going to stop coping about this character?
americans are stupid, what's new
>Entire story arc + dungeon is "im insecure about my sexuality and i dont know how to express myself" also "i have nobody to talk about it".
>"i wasn't homo"
>still gets flustered by Naoto before she was revealed to be a woman
>jizzes his pants when he bikes with yosuke
my guy, you just can't pick up anything can you? watch all of edogawa's classes to remind yourself of the game's themes
I still remember how Rise called him creep for his hobby.
I don't understand how this c**t can have any fans.
>c**t
Cause every famous woman is a double faced b***h? That's how you get fans.
