So what are the chances that the Gen 3 games wind up on the e-shop any time soon?

Switch e-shop specifically since they're shutting down the 3DS
Should I just give up and emulate them instead?

      yea I figured. Thanks man

its absolutely insane to me that they dont make all pokemon games available on whatever the most current eshop is because they would all obviously sell a lot. the disney vault type scarcity is horse shit

      right?

The ROMs have been available for free on the internet for 20 years, anon.

I know, can't explain why I'd rather get em on e-shop but for whatever reason I do

they probably want people to buy the remakes instead (ORAS & LGPE). maybe with the 3ds eshop shutting down, they'll release RSE since there will be no way to legally get ORAS anymore. but honestly I doubt it.

You'd think they'd make the remakes available to buy instead.

isn't ORAS still buyable on the eshop? at least until the 8th.

Also, the 3DS eShop shut down a year ago.

also gba games are available on switch as part of the online bundle, so I don't know how much revenue GF would actually see from that

        Anonymous

None because Nintendo don't share NSO revenue.
Which is why Game Freak haven't put their old games on the service - they're not getting paid to do so.

At least for FrLgE they are likely concerned with how the multiplayer would work since it requires both Link Cables and Wireless Adapter connections and as of right now the GBA emulator's multiplayer options are 'yes/no'.
As for gens 1 and 2, they were on the 3DS, no fricking excuse.

      >any time soon?
Don't hold your breath. It took Nintendo four years of Switch Online to put up NES Pinball. Pokémon is going to be let to wait as long as possible because that's how Nintendo runs the service.

Nintendo in general has a problem with this. I can at least see the logic behind dragging their feet on releasing games for a subscription service, but back during the Wii U they were doing it for Virtual Console games, which aside from the Earthbound games, had all been available on the Wii for years.
They wouldn't even put GBA games on the 3DS despite the fact that they run natively on 3DS hardware without needing to be emulated.

Yes anon. Because if they barely got 1.5m sales of the re-release of the highest-selling games in series history, what makes you think (You) c**ts would have paid a tenner for RSE? they didn't put them on 3DS, because it would have been a waste of time trying. Normalgays weren't going to stay on 3DS after Switch got released.

The thing about those games is that they are archaic as frick.
I'm pretty sure Emerald would do far better than them.

3DS server shutdown does not mean they are shutting down Bank/Transporter. This needs to be stickied at this point.

still doesn't mean Bank will stay forever, I believe it won't be usable at the end of the year (which is why I must hurry shiny hunting this shaman)

Do they? Do we know what companies get from being put on the online services? They'd probably make more money selling them individually.

They'll probably do a compilation release like Mario All-Stars

Pokemon All Stars! Now on the Switch!
    >Red/Blue
    >Gold/Silver
    >Ruby/Sapphire
    $60

Never, because there IS no eShop on Switch.
If you could afford one, you'd have realised this by now.

Even if they did, they would be markedly worse and you'd have to pay 50 bucks for a yearly subscription to play it.
