>Some of Starfield’s planets are meant to be empty by design — but that's not boring. “When the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there. They certainly weren't bored." The intention of Starfield's exploration is to evoke a feeling of smallness in players and make you feel overwhelmed. You can continue to explore and find worlds that do have resources you need or hidden outposts to look through.
holy cope
Why do you still give this game relevance if you dont like it? Youre not a Gankerirgin, youre a bacterial marketer.
https://web.archive.org/web/20231128125848/https://www.ign.com/articles/bethesda-is-responding-to-negative-reviews-of-starfield-on-steam
i like to laugh at bethesda
Like literally several weeks after starjeet release there's only one or two discussion about starjeet in here, you can look at the archive if you want to. Consider this is the phase where everyone are accepting starjeet shittyness, and prefer to laugh at it instead of discussing about the game.
Its good because 1. Pajeet are seething, 2. Bethesdrones are malding
This is post-starfield right here
No, just like every betheshit game all the dedicated players went to /vg/ whilst the shitposters stay on Ganker.
Yeah, it's just Ganker shitposters. Nobody else thinks Starfield is lukewarm shit.
>Oh no! I need to form my opinion with everyone else!!!
I played Starfield on gamepass and it was a great game. Crimson Fleet is the best Questline they've done since Morrowind.
People were expecting a space sim like star citizen and elite etc when they were told multiple times it's not a space sim.
>If other people agree with you, you don't actually have an opinion!
You Bethdrones are literally delusional.
69% positive.
Wow the other 31 sure showed me!
Let me guess you think you're the majority.
>Oh no! I need to form my opinion with everyone else!!!
lol
lmao
A 69% isn't a good grade. It's barely passable.
Oh yeah forgot these days 7/10 is fricking dogshit because people can't do scales properly in 2023.
With the steam reviews replies, the game dropped from average to mediocre.
It's funny how on the first day, it sat at 90% by all the Bethesdrones giving it glowing reviews but as time went on and legitimate players tried it, it dropped in the 60s
Literally yes. Playing a 7/10 means you are not playing a 9/10. Gaming time is valuable and I'm not going to waste it by playing something inferior when there is a plethora of better games, more than I can realistically ever finish
Good morning sirs
Here's the summary of Shartjeet Timeline on Ganker
When starjeet first leaked by /ourBlack person/ Tyrone, Ganker reaction is mixed about the game, some said it was good, some were concerned, but Tyrone said that 'Todd is doing a great job' or something like that about Starjeet, assuring this board that the game will be good enough for everyone.
Then Tyrone got arrested, Starjeet got released, some anon played it early and 'positive reviews' started to pouring in. Anon who got their hands early on starfield disliked the game, Ganker is shocked "wtf why did we got tricked by a hood Black person? Tyrone said it was good?!".
During starjeet public release ,the reception in Ganker has become more and more mixed. It was divided because media said it was a good game but the actual player doesn't have that 'good experience' with the game. Ganker has started to avoid talking about shartjeet at this point.
For several weeks, there's only one or two threads about starjeet, even 2022 Ganker after starjeet first gameplay reveal was talking more about that game than several week post starfield release.
One or two starfield thread(s) that were talking about the game is actually talked about the development and bethesda rather than the game itself.
>why did the game like this?
>what happened at bethesda?
Then people traced the actual problem to emil pagliarulo, the problematic bethesda developer that now working as lead design in the game, basically responsible to starjeet shit ass game design and stuff like that. Some anon found credit title where 90% hindu worshipper is also responsible for the game messed up shit. Then, another news where devs like Kuhlmann leaving bethesda is another interesting thing to Ganker , like there has to be something going on in there.
After learning about the source of the problem, Ganker prefer to laugh about it and post things that make pajeet mad, and here we are right now.
>bacterial
>Bethesda doesnt make an entertaining game
>get entertainment by laughing at them instead
If bethesda didnt want me to laugh at them then they shouldnt have given me a reason to do so
It is entertaining, just unpolished, but you sound salty
do you really think anyone is buying the game based off of this? Its not even worth pirating lmao
Only thing I was overwhelmed by were the number of morons who convinced themselves this was going to actually be some groundbreaking new experience, and that todd wasn't just talking out of his ass again.
I hoped it would be good. Figured it would be shit. Ive not played it but il probably get it when its like $10 or pirate it i guess
I mean No Mans Sky is the same.
Boring and empty with the same copy and pasted assets but you get to sometimes see a proc genned creature and every planet is the same with trees and grass.
But that's praised.
Really odd.
>comparing astronauts on the moon to a fricking video game
Do these morons at Bethesda not understand video games are just an entertainment product and are supposed to be fun?
Ironic considering most gamers these days are all
>MORE REALISM PLEASE
>MORE PHOTOGRAPHIC TEXTURES
>MAKE IT MORE REAL
Which is why video games are so fricking shit these days.
yes you know its realistic when the same base is copy pasted on every planet with 0 variation
The astronauts had cars to play around with
This billion dollar video lame can't even put vehicles into the game
Oh no whatever will I do with no vehicles!
The horror.
Heres a tip.
No one even bothers with the buggy or mech in NMS lmao.
Good morning sirs
>y-you must be indian
And here comes the cope.
Speak for yourself. You're the lamest video lame fan.
That's because you can actually fly your fricking spaceship in NMS instead of clicking and watching a cutscene where your spaceship lands for you.
rakeesh my friend
I do. The hovercar is fricking great.
Remember the Mako in Mass Effect?
Now imagine that, but 5x buggier.
Yeah, no vehicles was the right move.
The Mako was great and it's removal in ME2 nearly ruined the game for me.
Mass Effect perfectly accomplishes what Starfield tried, but failed to do.
>gamers
lol it's exactly people who don't play games that want this
>movie"games" have the best graphics
people who care about raytracing (muh realism) and other dumb shit like that only play the latest AAA garbage which looks pretty but has completely zero fun or engaging gameplay
Some of Bethesda's games are meant to be empty by design — but that's not boring. “When the gamers played Starfield, there was nothing there. They certainly weren't bored." The intention of Bethesda's games is to evoke a feeling of smallness in gamers and make you feel overwhelmed. You can continue to explore and find games that provide more instant gratification instead.
You can fly, you can shoot, you can mine, you can loot!
You can fly, you can shoot, you can mine, you can loot!
You can fly, you can shoot, you can mine, you can loot!
I'm not mad because of the samey, randomly generated planets. I'm mad because everything in the game feels randomly generated and copy-pasted. Even the "unique" quests all feel the same. It's all talk to x, kill y, get item from z, without any unique challenges or gimmicks. The only quest I can recall having with from my 100-hour playthrough was the Ryujin quest where you had to infiltrate the Ryujin HQ.
the Ryujin HQ infiltration mission was hilarious I just ran through everywhere ignoring the enemies.
Would rather have a space game that conforms to the 20% of planets have life rather than NMS 90% tbh.
t. Space Engine chad.
Bethesda haven't been the same since Morrowind. They've tried to emulate that success but they're just not capable. Everything needs a big budget and an inclusive staff now. But for all their money and diversity - there's no substance. The last interesting story came from New Vegas and that was because of Obsidian.
Tldr: women and poofters have no place in gaming.
>WAAAAH! WHY AREN'T BETHESDA MAKING MOVIE GAMES LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! I DON'T WANT GAME WORLDS! I WANT SET PIECES! I DON'T WANT AN IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENT! I WANT EPIC BAD ASS CUTSCENES WITH COOL CHARACTERS!
Sorry, Ganker, but Bethesda makes games for high iq people. You should just stick to your troony jap dating sims and leave the real games to the real men.
>immersive environments
>Some of Starfield’s planets are meant to be empty by design
homie, "SOME OF THEM"?
Literally all of them except for like half a dozen are completely empty. If you count space bandit bases that number goes up to maybe two dozen, but if you count that copypasted low-effort trash as content you're braindead anyway and your opinion is irrelevant.
10% are planets with life just like in real life.
yes but how many planets have resources on them? it could have been a harvesting minigame that didnt even require you to land on the planet if they were empty
All of them have resources.
Just like real life.
I mean there's a planet made of gold like 50ly away from Earth.
exactly, so no excuse for it to be boring. they just took a realism first approach which was boring
>oh boy I can sometimes look at plants and animals
Nobody cares. They're still procedurally generated trash with nothing to do on them. There no point in having 2000 planets if only a tiny handful of them give you a reason to actually go there.
>b-but you can gather resources!
And do what? Spend 5 hours setting up a supply chain across multiple planets with the shitty base building mechanics that in the end doesn't even let you do anything new, because you could just spend some of the literally endless money you get from selling leveled bandit gear to buy those resources directly?
>When the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there. They certainly weren't bored.
because they were making history by stepping foot on the moon. what an awful comparison lol
it gives you insight how much they love the smell of their own farts over at bethesda
Make them do it 200 times and ask them if they are still excited
In real life 90% of caves and burial grounds have nothing of interest in them, yet in Skyrim 100% of caves and burial grounds have loot, plants (that you can use for alchemy) and enemies of some variety.
Honestly I think Skyrim should conform to realism and just be a mostly empty wasteland.
Just play Morrowind. Sure, the ancestor tombs still have some loot and ghosts in them, but many of them are so copypasted and empty it's almost realistic.
>one of the most important/significant moments in human history
vs.
>sitting at your computer watching a simulation of landing on planet #2581251
gee todd, I dunno what could possibly differentiate these two experiences
>space nihilism simulator
WHOOOOOAH DOOOOD LOOK AT THE THE STARS! DOESN'T THAT MAKE YOU FEEL WEAK AND POWERLESS? YOU SHOULD STOP BELIEVING IN SPACE DADDY BTW AND TAKE ANTIDEPRESSANTS
If only I could smack every redditor with a shovel.
>moving at
relative to what?
relative to my dick in your mom's ass
I don't think saying "..to evoke a feeling of smallness and make you feel overwhelmed" is "nihilism".
I've looked at the night sky and/or the moon at night and hit that feeling before, and my conclusion was never "oh man nothing matters and I'm worthless", my conclusion was "holy shit the universe is immense and beautiful". It's a feeling of awe, not anxiety or depression.
>I've looked at the night sky and/or the moon at night and hit that feeling before, and my conclusion was never "oh man nothing matters and I'm worthless", my conclusion was "holy shit the universe is immense and beautiful". It's a feeling of awe, not anxiety or depression.
That is exactly my point, but apparently you're supposed to be scared or something.
It's a reddit thing, we wouldn't understand.
I think they nailed it. Space IS fricking boring
This.
And Elite Dangerous already nailed the loading screen spam and pointless planet landing.
no it didn't
In Skyrim, ending the civil war changed multiple cities and you got to see your side take control of the province.
In Fallout 4, you got to see your settlements grow from small hamlets to bustling hubs.
In Starfield you get... guard dialogue lines based on your choices? Nothing fricking changes in this game. If your choices aren't noticeable, why even bother with having choice?
This is damn stupid, it would be excusable in an VR game where I could have fun with physics but it's a shitty Bethesda game
>Bethesda game
>fun with physics
They'd first have to make a new engine that can actually do physics between multiple moving objects without them glitching into eachother and/or launching one of them into orbit.
Aww feels so good having a rig capable of playing this game and and an added bonus watching Ganker heads explode with anger.
Same, run this at Ultra 1440p at 130fps on my 7900XTX. 7800X3D for CPU.
Game ran like a dream. Dropped to 90 in New Atlantis though but that's whatever. Everywhere else was smooth.
Need to try it with AMDs frame gen when that gets released to the public.
>and and
sir relax bastard
My experience playing starfield these past few months.
Still having fun.
I bet your parents are very proud that you can tie your shoelaces on your own too.
We got a salty pajeet over here.
Doing what?
>DONT CARE I'M HAVING FUN
In kindergarten there was a kid constantly eating the cat shit in the sand box. Giggling and having the time of her life.
That's how I see you people.
>food analogy
3 months later and Snoys still mindbroken
This game might have finally shattered their psyches for good
Total ego death
Only raving lunatic madness from now on
You can tell it has.
30% of people didn't like it but they act like they are the majority.
Really sad if I'm honest.
getting mixed reviews on steam is really hard. Your average player is really, really easy to please
>reviews are all that matters
Holy shit what a shit taste person you are if all you play is what people define as "amazing."
Ive played plenty of mixed, bad, mediocre games aswell as very positive and had fun in majority of them.
Lot of positive games don't deserve to be positive.
The thing is, it's a Bethesda RPG.
Let's look at other Bethesda RPGs on steam:
>Morrowind: Overwhelmingly Positive
>Oblivion: Overwhelmingly Positive
>Fallout 3: Mostly Positive
>Skyrim: Overwhelmingly Positive
>Fallout 4: Very Positive
>Fallout 76 (lol): Mostly Positive
>Starfield: Mixed
You don't have that kind of track record just for your player base to suddenly turn on you for no reason. They flubbed something, clearly.
Yeah but it's their best game since morrowind
Absolutely regarded statement
>First spacefaring achievement of man
Vs
>something that's become routine in both gaming and in the lore and universe of starfield
Braindead take
Yeah? There's a catch tho, players are not signing in for a NASA sponsored moon exploration, they just want to have fun on planets with lots of stuff to do. Frick how can they be so out of touch, I refuse to believe this shit excuse wasn't written as a joke.
They should have responded to negative reviews of Fallout 4, by making a good followup game.
The least "overwhelming" game I've ever played and one that made me feel as though the universe itself was about as large as my real-life dead-end street that I live on.
>Recruited into Constipation
>Faction with 9 people + you, it's 10th member
>Faction has quite literally accomplished nothing in its entire existence
>Tell random people around the galaxy I am from Constipation
>"Oh, those explorers? I know them!"
>They instantly know what that means, and who Constipation is, and what Constipation does
What did Fraud Howard mean by this?
Starfield is a boring and soulless pile of corporate shit, like Star Citizen.
This game was noway hyped nor claimed to be a NASA realistic game, I don't quite remember starfield being overhyped. Watching the trailers and reveal gameplay, there was quite positive comments, then went radio silent with the gamescon Starfield gameplay review, immediate good impression with everyone on Ganker stating oh I wanna be space cowboy etc etc. Fast forward to the launch release date, the games gets absolutely shafted by everyone, snoy and normie youtuber expecting it to be like the perfect space realism l, aliens kinda game, only a skyrim/fallout in space game. No way Microsoft overhyped it for interest. Todd didn't even lie, and yet people spat on him. If this game came out on Playstation or was a Playstation exclusive, this would have definitely been threads or postivie reviews on it.
>This game was noway hyped nor claimed to be a NASA realistic game
It was extremely hyped, "BETHESDA'S FIRST NEW IP IN 25 YEARS!" "ONE THOUSAND PLANETS!" "A QUARTER MILLION LINES OF DIALOG!" was all over the place.
Expectations were high.
They also kept throwing "NASApunk" around and people took that to mean more than an art style, they expected hard sci-fi because of it.
>but that's not boring.
they don't get to decide what's boring to players
