If anybody is curious:
>Valve Deckard is releasing as just a headset, it can be tethered to a PC or fully wirelessly to:
>Deck Box, which is an standalone console that runs Steam OS. It will come in a bundle with the Deckard, but both can also be purchased separately
>Steam Controller 2 is basically exactly what it sounds like. Two joysticks and a front and back touch pad
Also not hardware but:
>Relaunch of Steam Link, which is now a "less than 10 dollar" monthly subscription that lets you play your library from any device using Valves dedicated servers. Classic Steam Link will remain, now renamed to "Steam Link Local"
All is going to be revealed at an upcoming presentation. Sorry my details are vague.
>Valve Deckard is releasing as just a headset
What will the price be around do you think?
Deckard not being standalone vr? What's the point?
Inside out tracking?
sounds like bs
valve does not do subs for anything except for battlepasses
Valve popularized loot crates. Nvidia recently abandoned in home streaming, shifting to geforce now. I can see valve doing something like this eventually. I'll believe it when I see it though
You can still use in home streaming with moonlight/sunlight
I genuinely doubt it because then they would have to lock off steam features to a paywall
this seems like some imaginary idea by a moronic fanboy who lives in console land still
>Valve popularized loot crates.
No they didn't, this is just a factoid morons love to parrot to pretend they know things. In truth they come from asian MMOs.
EA did popularize it in the west
but morons never care enough to look beyond surface level shit and live in mandela world
Popularize =/= Invent
Happy to help yet another American gain a better understanding of their native language. good luck posting in the future!
they didn't popularize them
so hes right still
They have a subscription for stat tracking in CSGO lol
same shit different scent
steam as a service is free entirely due to people buying games off the store
Fake but I might as well ask, will steam controller 2 have buttons on the back like the steam deck?
Controller 2 is basically exactly what it sounds like. Two joysticks and a front and back touch pad
Well that's the most moronic bullshit ever and fake and gay. The dual precision trackpads were the whole point
How far do you think the wireless will work? I wirelessly connect to my computer that is upstairs with my oculus2 all the way in the basement just fine so I'm guessing it will be at least able to do that?
I mean I saw that sadlyitsbradley vid so I think the first two points are correct but I can't imagine valve would paywall game streaming
wish they really would do a proper follow-up to steam controller with better underside buttons and offer different controller shapes. i didn't care for the shape of the first one but everything else was great.
i really don't see them taking steam link that far or bothering with another stab at set top box either.
all they really need to do is make a controller comparable to the dualsense or switch pro with back buttons and hall effect sticks
otherwise I don't see the use in a new steam controller if they just make the same thing again but not much different
I just hope they learn from the last one actually
those buttons were so fricking small
The buttons were fine. The shoulder bumpers and track pad click in needed to be quieter.
>Valve Deckard is releasing as just a headset
You sure about that?
it probably means it doesn't work standalone
How does a back touch pad work?
Remember the vita's back touchpad?
Same thing (useless)
uhhh DualShock 4 touchpad but on the back
so pressing down on one side is a button
when is upcoming
Was actually looking for controller to buy, might aswell wait for gabepad 2
i just bought a dual sense edge
might still pick up a couple steam controller 2’s still
if it still has pressure sensitive buttons and has gyro+hd rumble
it would be perfect for a switch/ps2 emulation controller
This sounds like way more than Valve could accomplish in a short timeframe.
The index and it's computing system are being developed in tandem. A new controller and a software update to Link is really not that much on top of it
why would anyone pay a subscription for that shit
Honestly it's not a bad concept assuming they have industry leading servers. Being able to boot up an RPG on my phone or play any of my couch multiplayer games at any friends place with an android box is a good deal.
Not too mention that unlike something like Stadia or whatever Amazon shit out, Steam is pretty much evergreen so you don't have to worry about servers going offline, and even if you do, you always have the hard download unlike the alternatives
Yeah it seems like common sense
>you don't have to worry about servers going offline
every tuesday, money lost
can i get some cheap steam vr vvia Quest2 cheapness please?
also for my SteamDeck ty
are they going to announce this in the international or should I wait until 2025?
Not bad
