I disagree. I'm only up to the chainsaw Akutsu chapter, but there's nothing so far that makes it worse than your average RGG story. I'd argue it's more engaging even, since involving so many civvies and kids (not the annoying Y3 kind) makes me care a little more. I guess le typical twist near the end could change that, but I don't see anything topping Y4 in scoobydoo-ness and that game is kino.
I thought Lost Judgment's story was pretty good at first too and was wondering why everyone shit on it so much. I understood why after Sawa-sensei died and it felt like Yagami had a fricking aneurysm. No story should revolve around a dead character THAT fricking much. I think overall it was still alright but I noticeably enjoyed it less after that.

I'm more surprised about shit like Etrian Odyssey still having Denuvo despite them launching the game without it by accident. Literally "cracked" day 1 so there's no reason for them to still be paying for it, they're losing money for no reason at all.
Total Warhammer 1 still has Denuvo and that's a glorified DLC at this point
