You are supposed to do it 100% of the time.
The input is there to make inputting it on reaction slower than just pressing a button or a direction + button.
It also makes it much slower when done out of blocking.
Those are inherent trade-offs a DP makes for power and priority.
Linking attacks/combos is hard, I swear pushing a button too early and you character just standing there doing NOTHING like a dumbass is the worst feeling in a game.
This. It's even worse when playing characters like this homie because I have to mind defense, spacing, poking characters, grapplers, passive aggressive zoners on top of learning many of his combos to deal damage because lol no projectile (he does have a way to deal with normal ones but not EX/super ones), no command grab, shit ranged normals and unsafe rekka and DP >verification not required
Hopefully Project L will finally close the lid on this discussion whether fighting games need motion inputs or not. Genuinely curious to see if that game ends up being good.
dont forget that rising thunder was being developed with this very concept is mind (before riot came along and killed the project). turns out that no matter how easy you make the inputs, it will never be able to make up for the difference in strategy and fundamental skill between new/casual players and experienced players. scrubs will ALWAYS find something to rage about
I remember getting matches here on dbfz and you gays were literally moving like you had parkinsons and couldn't even do a single bnb nevertheless an auto combo.
I don't play Sagat, but the way I'd approach it would be to >Stand outside of the opponent's anti-projectile move range if they have any >Stand at a range where them ducking high shot won't get you killed >Since you're sagat you can stand further back where a normal character couldn't AA while yout karaDPs will >Don't always throw a fireball.Take the opportunity of them expecting a fireball to adjust spacing to be more advantageous for you. >Don't walk yourself into the corner. Stand your ground when you're being pushed back. Identify what threat is causing you to back up and find what options you have to combat it.
Most of this is general fundies and fireball sense.
If you want an easy starting point, when your opponent is cornered, standing under the clock is usually a good spot to control their escape options.
>play 3S >80% of players play Ken, Chun or Yun or if they don’t main then, will switch to them if they lose a few games >Urien aegis and Oro booger unblockable setups >air reset into super setups with characters like Dudley and Akuma >Japs with 200 ping still full parrying multi-hit moves like Machine Gun Blow or Chun Super II and full punishing >the people that play low tiers are all insanely good as a result
It’s a good game but does no one else find it weird that this game is so overhyped by normalgays or those with an entry level interest in fighting games? Is it because it’s a good spectator game? Despite that, Co-op Cup and Game Newton hardly get views. Why all the pretending?
It was made before they had the ability to patch out all the broken shit every 6 months so the top tiers were the top tiers forever and there's never a reason to pick any other character if your priority is winning.
AAAAAAAAAH IS THAT A SRK MOTION? israeliteMAN SAVE MEEEEE CASUALISE THIS RIGHT NOW
Every time I try to play FG's with Ganker it's all trolls.
>why can't fighting game moves just be a single button press
the move is suppose to be hard to do you're not suppose to do it 100% of the time.
stop gatekeeping
In FEXL you can do a light DP by just hitting 3LP. Shit's stressful to deal with.
You are supposed to do it 100% of the time.
The input is there to make inputting it on reaction slower than just pressing a button or a direction + button.

They did that with Capcom vs SNK 2 : EO.
It sold very poorly.
Fricking cringe
100 YEARS OF NONSTOP ARTHRITIS
Inputs are easy

Oh wow another ironic fighting game thread, can't wait for the same fricking discussion about motion inputs we've had every single day for years now
argentinians make the best japanese girls
*sniff*
>get into fighting games
>"huh the z motions aren't so bad after a few minutes"
>find just frame inputs
man why ain't no one complaining about these
>midwit virtue signal about the importance of inputs #58653402
*laughs in hitbox*
>that one stream where daigo was struggling with DP into super on hitbox
Hopefully Project L will finally close the lid on this discussion whether fighting games need motion inputs or not. Genuinely curious to see if that game ends up being good.
shouldn't this discussion be six feet under already? Fantasy Strike, Battle for the Grid, Dungeon Fighter Duel, Granblue Fantasy Versus all failed
Those don't count because [insert arbitrary reason here]
We've had easy inputs since at least Evil Zone on PS1. Games just fricking suck dick without any risk for powerful moves
>THIS TIME IT'LL BE DIFFERENT
>-REAL- EASY INPUTS HAVE NEVER BEEN TRIED BEFORE
kek

so you're saying complex inputs is the fighting game equivalent of blaming teammates
I'm going to enjoy teaching beginners how revolting tag fighters can get.
is there a way you can represent king's movelist in a small, identifiable thumbnail?
Why is Ganker so bad at fighting games?
who says Ganker is bad at fighting games?
I remember getting matches here on dbfz and you gays were literally moving like you had parkinsons and couldn't even do a single bnb nevertheless an auto combo.
Shit was so embarrassing.
only a few thousand people actually play any given game
I'm bad at reading the opponents.
You can't fix something you don't understand.
I can fix you, c**t. Hope on USF4.
>USF4
The '4' stands for '4th most currently active street fighter game'.
I don't get it.
SF4 has less active players than SF3 and SF2 on fightcade.
No, I meant the pic. Like is it meant you like 4 women or you like 4 year olds?
>doesn't know who Youth Mentor Bear is
begone newbie
>zero reading comprehension
Just say you're a Hispanic or an esl
How do I get good with Sagat? I can fireball and AA, but my spacing is bad.
>How do I get good with Sagat?
You play him in a different game where characters actually give a frick about fireballs.
I should've been more specific: how do I improve as Sagat in Ultra Street Fighter 4? The game with decent fireballs?
I don't play Sagat, but the way I'd approach it would be to
>Stand outside of the opponent's anti-projectile move range if they have any

any game I've seen with this z motion doesn't require a z motion
