Sometimes I stumble upon some LPs where the player seems to have some serious case of arachnophobia which makes it a bit hard for them to keep playing (like someone playing Bayonetta having to close their eyes during one of the executions), so anon, is there some kind of phobia which stops you from playing some games?

>Pic related, so far I can deal with megalophobia because I seem to just get very upset when I see things that are unnaturally big, an elephant? fine, a fricking Thai giant statue? keep it away from me.

    astrophobia and thalassophobia

I guess (assuming you just don't like the game) it may be a bit hard to play stuff like Fortnite.

I have a really bad phobia of deep water, things bigger than me in the water, the sea / ocean, all that stuff. I still find swimming in GTA SA and 5 pretty difficult. I usually get shudders when I go underwater in realistic games, cartoony games like Mario not so much.

That reminds me I also have vertigo, which surprisingly makes me have that weird "itch" on the crotch whenever I have to jump over a big chasm, this goes back to SMB even (world 8.)

I'm terrified of water in games. The beginning of Bioshock, for example, almost kept me from playing it altogether. I had to pause, look up exactly what to do, then go in small increments in between pauses. Once I made it to Rapture I was fine, though. There were moments here and there where I'd pass a glass wall and start sweating, thinking about it breaking and the ocean rushing in, but it wasn't that bad. But actually being in the water is terrifying. Upon reaching the first water section in Jedi Fallen Order I had to stop and Google whether there were any water monsters before I could go in. I've been to Hawaii and swam in the middle of the ocean and was mostly fine. I could work myself up if I started thinking about it too much, but mostly not a big deal. It's just something about video games.

i also get spooked by water in games. i remember in ark early access when they only had a few dinos every single ocean spawn was a shark and they had like 5x the aggro radius. You worried a shark would get you even when you were just crossing the river in the mainland because it wouldnt be uncommon for them to swim all the way up there to get people. There was an underwater resource and i went to go down and get it and there would always be like 10 sharks following me it was spooky, especially because i played on a hardcore server so if i died i had to reset.

It's pretty rare to come across, but any games that contain a certain deadly blood disease causes my skin to crawl and I would probably turn it off.

Nah, it's not just blood or bleeding. It's just the mention of that specific disease.

Scared of impossible challenges. If I can't 100% a game I'm scared of it. For example I know I won't ever have everything possible to have in CS:GO or TF2 so I avoid them. If I know a game has multiplayer achievements but the servers are dead I'm scared of that game.
I'm VERY scared of MMOs, gachas and NFTs bros.

      Basically FOMO turned into phobia?

Yea that sums it up bro. Seasonal content fricks me up too. I sometimes watch my brother play For Honor in horror, knowing well he's never gonna have everything. Modern gaming in general is insanely daunting, I stick to older games with no cheevos, dlc and the like.

I have slight thalassophobia. The first 20% of subnautica had me stuck for days. There's a girl who used to stream called Morgan wheeler games. Go watch her subnautica playthrough on YouTube. Matched my experience to a T.

Arachnophobia is nowhere near as prevalent as it’s made out to be. Sure, some people (wrongfully) think spiders are creepy. But it’s like everything nowadays; make a mountain of a molehill and be pandered to.
