Sonic Chronic wasn't that bad. It's just a simple RPG with a weak plot. The extremely amateur midi soundtrack was the worst part, but I think it was only that bad because they accidentally lost the real soundtrack.

You don't play Paper Mario likes for the plot or soundtrack, althoughbeit would be better with them. The gameplay is servicable, which is the important part. I wouldn't sing its praises, but it's not the worst Sonic game. I'd play it over Shadow or Heroes.
The story I heard was that the composer walked out last minute, for whatever reason, and they scrambled to get midis of old songs. I vagely remember a pre-release video having different music for central city but it's lost media now
This is basically perfect, just move Advance 3 up a tier.

First Riders is incredibly fricking fun and rewards the frick out of skill. Would recommend. The sequels aren't as good thoughever.
I'll have to give it a go then. Always ignored the Riders series.
There's a PC port, and a competitive gay overhaul mod, Riders DX, but I can't vouch for either. I just emulated in Dolphin last time around. I've been considering giving DX a try to check out the added characters.
I really wish Zero Gravity didn't neuter the Air System, because outside of that I didn't actually mind the artifact frickery too much (and I liked the stages). In fact, if they had kept the Gravity Stuff and just appended it to the Air Meter in some way instead of outright replacing it, I think it would've worked a lot better. Also simplified tricks bad, but that's obvious.

Pretty close to objectively correct.
3DS version of Lost World gets bonus points in my book for being the first handheld game that doesn't pull that "Super Sonic is final boss only" bullshit.
It also managed to be fully 3D unlike sonic generations which was just another 2D game.

Although thesee aren't my favourites in general, from dicussing sonic online for over a decade now, the games most people agree are enjoyable are:

>Generations
>Frontiers
You should start with the genesis games and generations to see if they're for you, if you get really into it you have dozens of great games to play and every fan has a diffrent list of games they love and hate
I also think Adventure 1 and Unleashed are great but Big and Amy in adventure and the nighttime stages(more than half the game) in unleashed drag them down enough for many people to call them bad. it depends on your tollerance for though cause the good parts are really fricking good.

I'm watching it right now, it's got a fun first episode but it's really getting worse and worse the more focus they put on Wade and his family. Like I'm on episode 3 right now and I have to pause constantly to recover from the second hand embarrassment I keep feeling with every two lines of dialogue.
